Hello, Big Blue Nation! As you can tell this is my first post, even though I’ve been going to Rafters since the Terrence Jones recruitment in 2010. I’ve been on Rafters through the highs (2012 championship) and the lows (2015 FF). I know how cutthroat you all can be with newcomers, so take it easy on me! If anyone has any tips to survive on this board, fire away because I’m all ears.

So you created an account to promote YOUR stuff?

Not a fan of that strategy.

If you were a big poster and was trying to promote your stuff, fine. But a first post promotion? Not a fan of that.

I understand. Just trying to reach out, sorry if it rubs anyone the wrong way!

It's cool. No ill will or anything. I hope everything works out for you. I have a buddy who is trying to get his Podcast up and running, so I get it.

Just not a fan of it being your first post.

But seriously, good luck. I barely have time to Listen to KSR so any more podcasts onto my list would never get listened to (I tried to start with PMT and I can't even listen to those).

What’s his podcast called if you don’t mind me asking?

13 was my baseball number for years and has always been my good luck number. Good observation though. Believe me, I saw what you all did to the Kevin Knox fake who said he was coming back as well as other trolls. I’d be stupid to try the same

Well he has a website that has a bunch of different Podcasts on there. He's a big gamer so there's a lot of that and some other stuff. The website is Kentuckynerd.com. He is a frequent poster on here as well.

That’s cool, just curious. Would love to work with a fellow UK guy!

13 huh? Wonder what happened in 2013...

Believe me, I saw what you all did to the Kevin Knox fake who said he was coming back as well as other trolls. I’d be stupid to try the same. Also, Nerlens going down is what obviously killed that season. Granted that team is the least talented in the Cal era, but you can't count Cal out in March to make a deep run.

Ok Welcome. Thick skin, nerves of steel, clean underwear, smooth, ulismyman, trolls, barking dogs, monkeys, Cal, insighters and outsighters, hot women, Ul, Duke, Kansas, IU, losers, winners, drinking, old farts, blue hairs, cheerleaders, Tubby, Billy G, Malcom X, Jesus, boys, moles........ Just pick any of these and I will bet you by the time the thread ends it will be about something else. My point a lot of ADHD here so don't expect anyone to stay on task. ALL righty then the board is yours, post away.

My 11 year old was born on a Friday the 13th. He considers it his lucky number and it has been his baseball number since he was 5 and playing t-ball.

Post your hot takes, have thick skin, and don't suck. Those are the rules.......especially in the "welcome forum".

I'm a fan of the number 13 as well. Its odd but my sister, brother and I were all born on the 13th of a month.

Troll. Always the same. Start their own thread for maximum attention. Create a username with a UK identity. Make a claim of how long they've been here without posting, beginning with a period of memorable success (because that's what trolls remember and think it will play to our soft side) . . . just once it would be interesting to see that same formula followed to that perfect T without it being a troll. Otherwise its an instant calling card for free entertainment.
Just remember trolls can't get any attention on their home board, so they come to post here.

Remember, Rafters is a little like this:

I’ve never understood the need by some purportedly “new posters” to conspicuously announce they are making their “first post”. Frequently, as here, the OP states they have been following or “lurking” for years. Likewise, they then seek “guidance” on how to post or get along with other posters which begs the question, if you have been following this messsge board for years, why do you need any guidance on how to post or get along with other posters? After all, as has been repeatedly demonstrated since this board was founded, there is no merit based qualification to be an anonymous poster on an a mere Internet message board.

The OP and future posters, assuming they are not trolls, would be better served with their first post by simply posting a response to another poster’s comment. Posts like the OP’s cause many members of this board to immediately question the poster’s credibility. If you have followed this board for as long as you claim, you’ve witnessed this many times. If you are a legitimate new poster why create this problem for yourself? On the other hand, if you are in fact a troll you have already succeeded.

Check out @smooth as butter and @ulismyman posts and don't do that.

Don't start a thread telling us you're new, just start posting. How about dat
That is not a sure fire entrance to the rafters with out rejection comments. A #1 post is a target for negative troll accusation posts.

To the OP:
You're <(Edited) in, you made the jump.
Now tell me something I haven't already read here.
