If I am the President of a university there is no way I would hire him. He had more power at Louisville than the president did. Ramsey wasn’t clean, but they threw him under the bus after the stripper scandal and it worked till the fbi stuff blew up.

I know, but I’m disagreeing with your take. You seem to be saying “he’s wildly successful, but a little scummy.” I don’t think he was wildly successful - consider the shambles the athletic department is in, already vacated a title and the NCAA hasn’t even started on the Bowen stuff yet. If you know he breaks rules but has never been caught, that’s when you say “great results, but I think he’s morally questionable.” But he did get caught, the place nearly burned to the ground - so I don’t think, net net, you can describe him as a successful/good AD.....
Yea was more tongue in cheek. I’m a season ticket holder 6 years now and I live in Plant City. Not many drive farther to more games a year than me
Cash has done a great job, but as good as the owners were for several years, they are equally bad now.
Oh well, USF went in another direction today. While talk radio won’t be as good discussing the TJ potential disaster, it was a decent hire for them.
Jurich and Pitino are still in their jobs if there was not a new governor to clean out their dirty board. There was much more corruption at LilBrothel than Katrina Powell and the athletics dept. It was systemic. There was no accountability because the media was cowardly. Jurich could NEVER do what he did without the unholy trifecta of a dirty President, and lapdog media, and a fan base that to this day sees Jurich as the victim.
I used to live in Plant City. Moved to Seminole Heights a couple of years ago and couldn't be happier.
Yep, very good hire for them. He's a heavy-weight, whether people realize it at first or not. Should be a good step forward for South Florida.
With Charlie Strong and Brian Gregory, football and basketball should be in good shape these next several years.
Mentioned to a couple of former UL Profs today how the whole Ramsey-Jurich-Pitino mess would make a great case study of White Collar Crime at law schools across America. They just shrugged their shoulders.
Eh Seminole Heights is a hell of a lot nicer now than when I was growing up.
I've got 8 or 10 bars/restaurants within walking distance of my house, and another 15-20 that are about a 5 min car drive away.
We love it over here now.
But 5 years ago? Sheesh it was a bit rough
Yep they have done a great job with the area. As you said, 5 years ago different story but actuallly a pretty cool area now. Still has some rough spots, but most areas do.
There is a cool restaurant called Rooster and the till, if you haven’t been check it out.
Different menu than what you’ll find anywhere but good experience.
1920s bungalow houses. I hate to see what heat humidity do to the wood. It’s slowly being gentrified. As is Tampa Hts as I understand. I lived off Busch in Temple Terrace but 56th street all the way to 275 is [sick]
I will say this for Sem Hts, it’s a great starting spot for commuting Dtown
Anyone can be a good AD when they’re able to use the school’s endowment to fund facilities upgrades or cover staff salaries.
There’s a reason that he never left UL.
