I didn’t know his handles or outside shot was so good. He could play the three if we decide to go big or catch ourselves in a jam. He’s way more complete than I initially thought.

Insanely physical! Can really absorb contact and finish. Only one thing that worries me: with our refs, he might get 5 offensive fouls in the first 5 minutes. The PAC 12 refs were letting them bang, for sure. SEC refs?

But I love what he brings. Let's get 9!

Probably the first guy the refs want to put on the bench if we are in a regional final game. The good part is having two other physical forwards in Johnson and PJ.

Excellent touch around the hoop. Form on the rare jump shot looks better than the free throw and 3 point percentages would indicate.
Decent handle for a big.

Will face better defenses and more high level athletes here and may seem more mortal due to that especially early on as he adjusts to a new system and teammates. Of course he will have more help and be less keyed on so it might balance out.

Reasonable concern for sure. Fortunately, we have some quality guys to rotate 4 and 5.

I think the idea of him playing the three is a reach, especially on this guard heavy team.

This kid is gonna have a million free throws. Great fundamentals and strength down low.

Perfect stretch 4. Looks like he naturally plays facing the basket but likes to bulldoze into the lane.

This guy is gonna start

He's basically PJ with 3 years experience that has led to better footwork and handles

Would love to have those two guys playing facing the basket as stretch 4s/wings

What was his free throw percentage? Going to get fouled a ton with his raging bull moves to the basket.
Was 45% as Frosh, last year was 60%. He's not a natural shooter, gonna need to work on it all summer.

I just keep thinking he'll be to us like Luke Maye has been to UNC.
Unbelievably, Luke Maye has turned into a really good player, a bit better than Reid on D and overall more skilled on O - better handle and passer and shoots 43% from 3.

Finishes through contact but doesn't get the fouls called enough. Cal will be lobbying for that and he'll need to make FTs. Deadly over his left shoulder.

Not saying it’s gona be his primary position. But if Cal decided to throw an NBA sized lineup at teams with like Hagans, Johnson, Reid, EJ and Nick he could get some mismatches and would force teams to shoot over us. He could get away with it for a short spell with teams that don’t have a dominate scoring 3 on their lineup.

Yep. I’d take a Luke Maye-type on every single UK team.

Wow.

Dude will be a 1st rounder after this year. If crappy *** Rodney Hood as a grad transfer to a lower level program like duke can make the NBA as a scrub, Travis can definitely be a NBA starter

He’s a Brammer Bull!! I like how he uses the glass, old school game. He should help take this team to another level. Last year teams like Tenn bullied our young guys in the post. That shouldn’t happen with Travis and PJ.

He's crafty, like a more talented Eric Daniels. I know he will get his shot blocked (everyone does), but he is quite good at getting his shot off against bigger guys. Very impressed.

Pack in a 2-3, sag off everyone on the perimeter except maybe Hagans and help on everything within 10 feet of the basket.

But If defensive 3 seconds was a college rule that lineup would be really hard to impossible to defend for most college teams.

As much as I love his post game, handles and decent shot, the thing I love the most is that he seems to just WANT to dunk the ball on every rebound.

I got so tired of some of our bigs constantly trying to lay it in when Cal is screaming, "JUST DUNK THE BALL!!"

His touch off the glass makes me smile, but what's really outstanding is his footwork. He finds the path of least resistance instead of bulldozing for the charge, and at the same time doesn't shy away from contact.

He has the skills to be a SEC POY candidate. Will have to wait to see how he’s used, etc. Only knock I have on him is free throw %-age. Not a good career average (.617), but has improved year over year (.675 last year).
