I agree, but as a degenerate in college who loved blackjack, having a casino in downtown Lexington would have made my habit an "every weekend" thing as opposed to "once every few months" thing. The distance prevents making it even worse.
Why do you want such a big government? What else do you want them to ruin and/or tell people what to do? Not only should weed be legalized but so should every other drug in some form. People kill them selves with cigarettes at a higher rate than cocaine

I mean a few weeks ago I went to a counter in KY and placed a bet on a sporting event taking place at another location. I gave them money and they gave me a ticket, redeemable for money had I won.

I still consider myself lawful good despite this action.

You asked for a solid non bias base of information. It doesn’t get anymore solid than ~134 BILLION dollars in tax revenue the last decade. Then let’s say at the lowest estimate Ky residents cover 40% of that taxable revenue in those 7 cross state casinos.

That is 53.6 BILLION dollars in the last decade that should have been in state.

What else do you need to realize or figure out what your trying to figure?
Where on Beelzebub’s earth are you getting these numbers, Abovegroundkats? Indiana took in $2B last year and is 50% more populated.

https://www.in.gov/igc/files/FY2017-Annual.pdf

Then the next issue....say let’s be generous and say we net $1B or $1.5B per year.....teacher’s certainly think they’re entitled for some reason to all that and all the pot money ($300-500M per year?) and it’s still BB’s at a freight train of $40B and *growing*.

Pot and gambol should’ve been done a decade ago and they will help but, rest assured, will not cure jack ****.

Lexington will never have something as white trash as “casinos”. They’ll have to call it something else.

So you want them to tell you you’re “legally” allowed to smoke marijuana, and also tax you for it?

There’s two sides to the coin.

Giving govt more control of marijuana is stupid. Yes, it will make it “easier” for you to purchase , but they assume even more power and control of a stupid fn plant.

The whole thing is stupid.

Big government basically just needs to GTFO, particularly when making illegal things that are overwhelmingly practiced and enjoyed. The idea that the bozos in Frankfort/DC can make decisions for us better than we can make for ourselves is completely idiotic.

ex: 2016 = < 64,000 opioid related deaths

Meanwhile, mari-freaking-juana is a schedule 1 narcotic in most states. Good god, man.

Since the beginning of time, representative governments have voted in measures to reign in freedoms for the perceived good of the society. I'm a voter and tax payer. I also like to play craps, blackjack, etc. But if legalizing casino gambling negatively impacts the state (e.g., lower tax revenue than expected, increased crime, increased social issues), then I would rather not have it.

Many of you sound like the chumps that vote for tax-payer funded stadiums: "I don't care how much it costs, I want my Bengals!"... "No, no, no, no, these stadiums pay for themselves with the increase in new businesses coming to town"... "The increase in tax revenue from businesses next to the stadiums will more than pay for the stadium".

So yeah, give me sound analysis that this is going to be a net benefit. And it helps your cause if you don't say that it's going to add $5.36B per year in tax benefits, @krazykats.

Do you know how much weed costs in God’s country USA? Everywhere I have seen or heard that is legal recreationally is cheaper by the oz than what I pay here unless I want stems and seeds.

I like that I can go to the store to buy a sixer of Budweiser so yes I would like to be able to go to the store and buy an eighth of weed for the weekend.

I just don’t like be government telling me I can’t do something that doesn’t negatively impact anyone else. From marriage to what guns I want in my safe to what i want to put in my body

Good day yesterday. Cooked breakfast for the MIL in the morning, then spent the afternoon with the wife. West 6th was on point. Had a New England IPA that might be the best IPA I've ever tried. And their Cerveza Mexican-style brew is awesome, too.

County Club for dinner. Those smoked wings were :100points:.

<---- Tony Bennett guy. Lately been listening to classic blues- Little Milton, Bobby Bland, John Lee Hooker, etc. Grits ain't groceries, eggs ain't poultry, and Mona Lisa was a man. :joy:

Anybody planning on hitting up that PGA event at Champions?

Red Mile is pretty dang close to being a casino. Need table games, though. Video slots are garbage.

Bonzo must be so stoked to see his Caps rolling right now.

Can't wait to see this new QB commitment de-commit and go elsewhere while saying PLEASE RESPECT MY DECISION.

It is not often that you see someone describe a great day that starts with cooking dinner for their mother in law. The rest some pretty great, tho.

People may say, ‘Hey, they’re not going to play in the NCAA tournament.’ Which I don’t believe. But half the programs we recruit against must have a ban I don’t know about, because I never see them in the tournament. We’ll take our bullets and we’ll be all right.

This seems less than ideal if your goal is to recruit high level talent.

Although not "classic" because he is still playing but Robert Cray is pure :fire:. Seen him live a few times, plays as effortlessly as anyone I have ever seen. Glass of Macallan, a good stogie, and Robert Cray equals a relaxing evening.

Reminds me of hoping we could flip an Ohio University recruit in football. I don’t think we were paying $4,000,000 per though.

* Absolutely dominated my daughter's 4 & 5 yr old soccer team in the parents vs players game last night. Daddy had 2 goals. Felt like my name was WRax for a few minutes. It felt good.

This one assclown parent actually really was stopping those kids from scoring. Like really trying to stop them. And not just his own kid. Loser.

* I love the XM station Little Steven's Underground Garage. Good old school rock & roll mixed with punk and new ****. Nice change up every now and then.

* I love my new Hot Air Fryer!

* A friend of mine bought and refurbished an old 1800's schoolhouse about 10 minutes from my house. Pretty cool.

He had an art exhibit there over the weekend. Inspired ol' Wildcat Willy. 'Bout to get my art on.

* Right now, I'm at the stage where I almost feel sorry for Chris Mack. I really liked him at Xavier. Now, it is my duty to hate him but until he has some sort of success it will be a weird, awkward forced hate.

Of course the first time we play them and that little beady eyed pointy nosed bastard starts excitedly clapping on the sidelines, I will truly begin to despise him.

* Pollyanna *****.

* I just knew the Reds couldn't win all of the rest of their games.

* Greenthumbs, too late to plant a couple of trees? Am I ok to put a few crab apples and a dwarf cherry in this weekend or should I wait until fall? TIA.

* Caught a 3 lb. largemouth on a 32" Disney Princess light up fishing pole the other day. The 5-yr old had tangled the line all up so I just plopped the ridiculous purple lure she wanted to use over the edge of the dock and began stripping the line and untangling the mess she had when it just took off. I tried to get her to reel it in but she was mad about something.

* Have a good Hump Day Eve, GYERO. Enjoy.

Had the worst pain of my life at 2:30 this morning. Thought I was going to the ER. I couldn’t even get to my feet. I was down on all fours panting and growling and begging for the seeet release of death. Still had control of bowels, though.

This morning, with absolutely no remedy of any sort, I’m back to “normal.” Walking like Freddie Couples again. Could probably dead lift if I wanted to. I mean, WTHeck??

If you plant them now, you'll have to deep water them regularly at least once a week throughout the summer. A slow trickle from the hose for an hour or two should do the trick.

If you wait until fall, those suckers will be (more) rootbound (than they likely are already).

So, basically, you're f'd either way. Enjoy!

Or Gallstones. When mine hit me I crawled on all fours downstairs hoping I would die every second. Went to Doc and they sent me straight to the hospital for surgery, one had gone up into my liver and was excruciating.

Go get that ish checked.

Planted about 60 trees & shrubs last Sept/Oct. Lost about 8 over the winter. It's a crapshoot unless you are committed to watering every day, which I am not.

Threw another 30 flowers/plants in this weekend. Fully expect to lose 6-8 because I dont have the time to water every damn day.

Vegas seems like a very risky trip for Utah fans. Magic underwear could come flying off. Might even accidentally have a sip of alcohol or stick the tip of their penis somewhere it doesn't belong.
