assuming Maxey commits and reclass as well as Hagans who do you think starts for the bulk of the season(not just day 1)? Let's assume for the fun of it we get back JV PJ and WG. The depth of this team will be insane if we bring back only 2 of the 3. It's a fluid situation, no wrong answers just want opinions

Hagans
Maxey
KJ
EJ
Richards

6th man: Quickley For guards, PJ for Forwards

Calipari didn't ask Green to come back to sit on the bench. He's a starter.
Maybe to begin the year, but by SEC play comes around Idt so. He's small and Cal likes to play with length and solid D. Green gives us an offensive spark off the bench.

Baker will be in the mix next season and Maxey(if he is here) won't sit the bench for long

Our guard depth will be stupid if Hagans and Maxey both reclassify. It hurts my brain thinking about how to manage minutes for that backcourt. Why I’m not getting paid millions, I guess.

Two things I want folks to understand as they play this little game:

Quade Green will be very good next year.

Immanuel Quickley will be very good next year.

Carry on.

Love your line up assuming Richards develop his game .

I might switch up Herro with Maxey .

I hope and pray NR develops into the player he's shown flashes of last year. Could be great. You think Herro could start at the 2? That'd surprise me but it wouldn't to see him be the first G off the bench. Can't really go wrong picking Quade Herro Quickley Baker off the bench.

Side note: I love JV game I'm just not sure how much another foot surgery plays into his PT or availablity during the year. Obviously don't need to rush him back, but will he ever truly be 100%? Time will tell

These may not be the starters, but I think the best 5, the 5 that will get the most minutes together will be:

Hagans
Maxey
Johnson
Gabriel
PJ

Gabriel doesn't have the talent of Vanderbilt or Montgomery, but he does something very well that they don't, which is stretching the floor with his shooting ability. Having him in there will make it impossible for teams to stuff the lane. Our guards will have free reign to drive inside and either finish or kick to a wide open shooter once the defense collapses.

If JV and/or PJ return, there is NO WAY Montgomery starts ahead of or plays more minutes than either of them.
And it is very unlikely he would start / play more than Gabriel.

EJ is our highest ranked recruit even adding in Hagans and Maxey to 2018. I think he'll see tons of PT especially because we'll be thinner at post than guard. JMO

So the OP is assuming (almost) best case scenario (everything except a Wiseman or Carey reclass-sign).
Playing along.
I don't care, nor should the players care who "starts". What is most important in minutes on the court.
I would estimate as follows:

26 Washington
24 Vanderbilt
24 Maxey
22 Green
20 Richards
20 Gabriel
15 Hagans
15 Johnson
15 Montgomery
10 Quickley
8 Herro
1 Baker

But I have come to think we lose 1 of JV, PJ, WG. And that Maxey or Hagans will be 2019.

I mean it's all guessing.

I just like the size of Herro. I think he might be able to get shot off easier than Maxey. Also Maxey might play more back up 1/2 .

Except, I don't know how Green and Quickley will fit in.

Im on same page with JV. His injuries just doesn't seem like reliable piece.

But it gets really complicated with all these players .

Don't see much way this isn't the case,Montgomery made a nice jump in the rankings,I hope that was justified by his play and not the Kentucky effect.

Wenyen stretched the floor last year as well, way better than PJ in that category but he still came off the bench. If PJ and Vanderbilt and Nick comes back why would he all of a sudden start?

I don’t think our fans have a clue how this plays out. Too much value on certain players and undervaluing others. Too many question marks until we see these incoming players go against men at the collegiate level.
