old school rivals get back at it tonight. i believe it will be an interesting series. Embiid against Horford...who does Boston put on Simmons...who covers Rozier for the Sixers...does Smart get into the Sixers heads...what can Stevens do to slow down Sixers...should be a fun matchup. what you think?

Bird v Dr J was a classic matchup. Moses got Bird in the headlock if I recall.

For the Celtics to win, they will have to own the home court, just like they did against Milwaukee. Also need Jaylen Brown to play.

I'd put Smart on Simmons with stretches of Jaylen Brown.

Boston has to control the tempo and use Horford to initiate offense and draw Embiid away from the rim. Stevens will have a gameplan to do both of those things.

Philly hasn't been here before, and teams usually have to take their lumps and grow in the playoffs before making a real run. It'll happen either in this series or the next, but at some point they'll stop looking like the free-flowing juggernaut they were at times against Miami.

Should be a fun series.

Philly in 5. I think they go on to play in the finals verses Houston.

Brown is out tonight, correct?

I like Boston to pop them in the mouth tonight, while at home. But ultimately Philly will take the series.

I'd put Smart on Simmons

As a sixers fan...that was my first thought. See if Smart can rattle him mentally. Smart can't muscle him like he does other guards, and Simmons will have height advantage. Be fun to watch that matchup.

If the Celtics can beat them tonight without Brown, this will be a short series. Philly's guards cannot defend a lamppost. I actually like the Celtics lineup defensively without Brown though.

Phila had a top 5 Defense in regular season. Don't know how they did that without some D from the guards. what guard(s) can't defend?

Remember the great series back in the 80s with Dr J, Cheeks, Toney vs Bird, McHale and Parrish. Then 76ers added Moses Malone to get over the hump to win the title.

Would like to get behind the Sixers but Embid is too much a dbag and Celtics are about as unlikeable as dook. tough choice...

Gotta go sixers. Don't think I like a single player on the Celtics. Embiid is a big troll but it helps that he accomplished nothing at Kansas. They won the Big 12 regular season (lol) but didn't even make the S16. Simmons is fun to watch.

Not many likable players on the 76ers either though.. Simmons, Embiid, Reddick.. Reddick cause of Duke.. But Simmons and Embiid certainly think highly of themselves. Not much humility there.

Redick, Simmons, and Belinelli are garbage on defense. Rozier looked like Kyrie against them. Marcus Smart pretty much did whatever he wanted (just took too many threes) and even Shane Larkin had a great game. And Jaylen Brown is 6'8" and can shoot over all those guys.

The Celtics are also really good at creating mismatches, like they did tonight getting Horford against Saric and and Tatum against Redick.
