Pg- Hagans / Quickley
Sg- Maxey / Baker
Sf- Johnson / Herro
Pf- Gabriel / Vando
C - Montgomery / Richards

I think 1 of Gabriel or PJ will end up leaving to make money.... and I think it would be PJ so thats why I have Gabriel starting at the 4.

I think that lineup might just be platoon worthy

Ditto. Save Maxey for 2019 to go with Jeffries. That’s one heckava pair to start with.
I could be way off base but I could see Cal pitching Maxey on 2 years.

Come get the experience and better instruction with a very deep supporting class and then be THE guy the next year with your original class and some combo of Jeffries, Wiseman, Carey, Hurt.

Even if that isn't the pitch, we are going to be fine at PG in 2019. 1 of Maxey, Hagans, Quickley, Green will vey likely still be here and we likely add Jalen Lecque while keeping Baker (word is he can run point if needed like lamb)

Edit: this quote is what brought me to this line of thought; (”He just feels as if Kentucky will benefit him more, and his dad agrees,” said the source.). Benefit him more than what?? The logical conclusion is it would benefit him more than an additional year in HS to prepare him for the 2020 season of CBB, thus the 2020 draft he is scheduled for as of now.

I would rather have Green return.
Everyone can have their preferences, but Cal doesn't have that luxury. He is doing exactly what needs to be done. It's Green's choice if he wants to stay or not. It's Cal's job to make sure we have a full and talented roster. We as fans don't know a damn thing, and yet we have a huge chunk that think they understand the situation better than Cal. Mindboggling. Let the man do his job, people.

Don't forget the possible grad transfer as well. Would likely be a big guy and replace who leaves out of the PJ/Wenyen/Vando trio.

Biggest thing we are missing here is that Maxey is More of a two guard than he is a 1. So this should not bother quade that much. We need to replace Diallo and Knox. So Herro, Johnson, and Maxey can give us that.

What the hell is going on with all the guards lol. Do we another guard along with Diallo potentially leaving? Just dont see enough available minutes next year. Quade,Baker,Herro,IQ,Hagan as of now Maxey would make 6 not counting Diallo (by latest rumor is 50/50. What gives?

Any combination of Quickley, Hagans, Maxey and Baker on the court together would be great.

Better make all the shots cause with that height disadvantage there won't be any offensive rebounds and darned few defensive ones.

Cal is no way that dumb.

Do you think Cal is considering a small ball line up? 3 guards, KJ, and PJ/JV/EJ/WG/NR?

Looking more and more like a KU or Nova from last year. Strong on perimeter shooting and not so much an inside game.

Cal said he wanted to recruit more shooters. Surely not to ride the pine.
If Maxey comes, then definitely a lot of platooning at the 1 & 2 plus maybe a guard subbing out KJ.

Don't want to call out anyone, but Quade Green will never be an NBA first rounder. I can't see him as ever drafted. Now if Cal is leaving with Brad then he might tell Quade to stay and not be recruited over his senior year. But that's a huge stretch.

I think Cal is going small ball like Nova! Lack of shooters has burned him too much!

Nova started one 6-8 guy?

Run and gun in college!
Beat me to it.

Seriously though, all of our guards with the exception of Quade run 6'3"+ they would be tough matchup for a bigger SF, which creates help defense, which opens up shooters.

I didn't read that as all of them on the floor at once but rather that any combination of them will be dangerous for the opposition.
I also don't see Cal going more than 3 guards at a time except in a situational pinch or maybe occasionally Johnson at the 4.
Even in 4 around 1 mode he'd go with Gabriel or Montgomery, I'd reckon.

Slightly off topic but interesting tidbits from Wenyen and Hami’s instagram story 2 hours ago

Wenyen has a mountain with arrows pointing in both directions, signaling he doesn’t know which way to go.

Hami is sitting on a court and has a poll for yes/no.

Gameplan shall be simple enough...RUN RUN AND RUN some more. Also Vanderbilt has shown how fast he can be and can push the ball

What about redshirting a couple of players....like Villanova did?:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I'm sure if guys transfer in, get hurt, or have academic issues it will be considered you know pretty much like Villanova did.

Only one of them was a developmental red shirt.

Green isn't being pushed out, but if he's toying with transferring Cal isn't playing around. That's on Green....not Cal
This I agree with . Also if maxey came in then finally Green would have a reason to transfer as that is too many guards. KJ is going to be a SF almost entirely but 5 guards is alot. I think Herro will play alot at SF backing up KJ as well but still.
