Also, I don't think I've ever been so happy to take another look at a kid and be wrong.

Saw him at the adidas uprising last year around this time and he was pretty flat. Bad shooter, not finishing through contact, sloppy passes. He competed hard but it was ugly. Felt like he shot maybe 25% and had more turnovers than assists. When he committed to UGA I thought it was a good move for a kid who might need a little time.

When he decommitted and we had all the buzz, I took another look. Apparently those weren't his typical performances. Every other bit of game tape I've been able to find on him is ridiculous. Stuffs the stat sheet. Plays hard on both ends. Awesome defender. Very cerebral, which is rare for a kid with his physical gifts.

Big, tough, smart, talented. Pumped this kid is a Cat. This was the kind of talent boost we needed to make us a real contender.

I think we all know Calipari is behind the timing of these commits. The guy always has something up his sleeve.I will not question our coach's abilities again !!

Good news, but now I have to wonder about Diallo and Green. It almost seems like Cal is hitting reset on the 17 recruiting class. Would hate to lose Green, but not sure how he fits long-term. And would love to have Diallo, but only if he really wants to be here and fully committed to the team.

Some of this also might have to do with the weakness of the 19 class at point guard. There's Cole Anthony, who doesn't seem to have a connection with UK, Jalen Lecque, who might be more of a 2 guard anyway, and Hagans, who's now coming, a year early. Other than that, no one who looks elite.

A reset in the backcourt might not be that bad, but UK is going to need Keldon Johnson to be a pretty elite scorer, and UK needs to keep at least 2, preferably all 3, of Vanderbilt, Gabriel, and Washington.

Unbelievable! What a huge get. Even with ESPN and the media sucking Rat faces crack, Coach Cal still delivers.
Yes, Coach Calipari is delivering. This should not come as a surprise, since Calipari’s national recruiting class rankings since he arrived here in 2009 have been #1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 2. Historically, Calipari has performed at an elite level of excellence as a recruiter, and in terms of wins-losses, and in terms of SEC dominance. So, let’s please heed the words of EJ Montgomery, who picked UK over Duke, Kansas, and UNC while making it clear that Calipari is the best developer of NBA talent and Kenny Payne was the difference maker in his recent decision. Please, no more lame discussions of Calipari’s loss of “swag”, Calipari’s retirement, Calipari’s replacement, firing Tony Barbee, bringing back Coach O, or never winning another championship. All of those are false narratives, created by low-information fans who cannot control their impulses.

Oh yeah, and this gives UK the #1 rated class if he reclasses, which is crazy to think about.

But I have to ask, when Jamaal Murray was added to our 15 class they didn't count him because he reclassified. Now all the sudden that's changed? Maybe it was just one publication that didn't count Murray, but I recall seeing UK #2 in most rankings and Murray not listed.
After Bagley reclassified all of a sudden it counts don't you know.

This is real. This is serious. This is two days in a row we get a 5 star from Georgia, the home of great high school players. This is Coach Cal. This is Kentucky basketball. Life is good. No life is wonderful.

Pretty damn big shot across the bow to Tom Crean too. He can forget about signing any 5 star players from Georgia. Of course he couldn't keep Marquis Teague or Trey Lyles in Indiana either.

This what worries me. If Hagans reclassifys to 18,then we lose him, Quickly to OAD, then we will for sure need Green to stay.

Not worried about next year, we will get Tyrese Maxey and he is as big a stud as Hagans.

Just something to get you more excited if possible.

Per Evan Daniels: New Kentucky pledge Ashton Hagans is one of the most competitive prospects I've covered. Same tier as Josh Jackson and MKG. Competes on both ends.

I could be wrong but I think that had something to do with the Canadian aspect of the reclassification.

Unreal man! What is even better is this years PG class is really weak and now we pull a trump card and get the best 2019 to reclassify!

Pretty soon we'll have 14 year olds on the team. How is it that kids can reclassify to early these days?

Didn't someone post something the other day about how Hagans is actually the same age as Knox or close?

Where have you heard Green is transferring ?
It was either on the HOB or KSR that is Shai came back that Green would look elsewhere. And a few weeks before that Matt had hinted at the possibility. Getting yet another good pg makes me think Green will definitely consider it.

If he didn't reclassify he would turn 20 by the end of his Senior year of high school. Even after reclassifying he will be old (19) for an incoming Freshmen.

You may be right and I'd rather believe what you say as opposed to the belief that people are out to knock Cal and UK down.
