I read in several of the posts about Nike pushing (allegedly) recruits toward duke. I thought UK was Nike also. Has this situation been going on for a long time? Does it have anything to do with UK not participating in Nike Phil's birthday tournament a couple years ago? Why are we in disfavor?

If this has ANY validation at all, I would rather see UK wear Chuck Taylor's than Nike. No doubt other shoe companies would love the UK logo on their list of clients. I would think if the playing field is not level, UK should look for other options.

Before I get the "stupid OP", or "you're a troll" comments, I must say I don't know and I'm just asking.

It's just a theory, but it makes sense. Cal went from getting almost anyone he wanted, to not getting any Top 5 guys the past few years, and Duke is getting an absurd amount of them. More than Cal ever did.

1. Chucks are now owned by NIKE
2. The birthday thing was last season. Sackat says nike was super pissed.
3. Nike and Duke's gay shower scene, has been going on for a few years.

Screw Nike. I have no problem with us skipping Phil Knight's birthday tournament. Enough with the egos of these shoe companies. We don't bow to them anyway.

Duke has always been Nike's favorite. They drink from the same punch bowl that ESPN does. Duke is a clean program that does it the right way. Unlike who just uses one and dones. Until Duke starts doing they one and dones and now it's Dukes one and dones the right way. Whatever that means.

The best way to beat them at this is to actually beat them. Beat Duke and beat them hard and this crap will stop. All the more reason we need to make sure there is carry over between one season and the next. We can't afford to start the year the way we did this year even if Cal does peak in March. Peaking in March is fine but we need to be pretty good in November also.

Since Knight got K to commit to the Oregon party, Duke has been reaping the rewards.

When you hear Cal say it’s too long a trip out West, that tells me something ticked him off and he pulled out of the commitment. You aren’t going to hear anyone defend Cal, so he’s going to have to accept the results.

Remember, Cal went to UCLA for a home&home, so I don’t think it’s really the travel; it’s simply Cal wanted no part of the festivities.

I think the nike product has been going down hill, you have NBA players jerseys ripping and shoes having blow outs. If I was a player and the sole of my 300$ pair of shoes come apart during a game, I think I would be a little pissed but a lot more concerned.
