Knox even if he was just a freshman again. Montgomery is not that good of a player and is benefiting from being the last big left in a very weak class for big's. We have 3-4 big's already better than he would be next year for us.

So. Composite ranking has Knox as 10 and EJ at 12.

Now this argument is flawed because different strength of class.

But the point is they are perceived similarly out of high school .

One has year of proven collegiate experience another has 0.

You take talent over experience more often than not.

You take talent with experience over talent with no experience 100% of the time.

I always like when people here think what they say is going to influence a recruit or player. Uh-oh, Montgomery is reading this thread and sees some Kentucky fans are not saying he is great so now he won't come to our program........

Just in case, EJ, we want you as part of the BBN, you will be a great successful basketball player if you come to UK, if you go elsewhere not so much, and we need you (*unless Knox is coming back but you need a year of development and then in two years you are still here and are awesome). So bottom-line, you are coming to Kentucky and nothing left to decide, we have made that decision for you.

Have you actually watched this kid play and not just highlight films? Scouts are saying that this by far the weakest class that's come through in years. With Washington, Vanderbilt, Wenyen we easily have better players.

Like Bagley he has to say he isn't reclassifying so he can play summer AAU ball. All these kids do this and reclass late so the option of playing AAU ball is still on the table. Hagans was interviewed saying he wanted to play AAU ball and will decide later if re-classing is an option. If UK wants him for 18 you will see him make the jump.

I saw on some NBA show that three point attempts doubled six years ago. Steph Currys influence on the game has changed NBA offenses. It has trickled down into the college game. Having four shooters with a serviceable big man is the new norm. As innovative as Cal has been in college ball he is behind on this trend. Maybe the recruiting of all these guards with shooters is him not just playing positionless basketball like Houston and Golden State do, but adopting similar offensive strategies.

If people think this is actually a legitimate question then they are expecting way to much out of Montgomery. He has talent but he is far from polished. He won’t be a star his first year no matter where he goes. He needs time to develop. Could be a very good player in year 2.

Knox was higher rated in a much better class and more importantly, he's had an entire year of college ball. Yes, it's an absolutely absurd question. Now, do I want Montgomery? Absolutely. Over Knox returning? Hell no!
