Sorry, didn’t see a name thread on him if one was created.

How good is he and what does he bring to the table? Judging by this Ball Is Life video that compares him to Ray Allen, he’s what we need consistently...a knock down shooter.
Side note: no one is close to Ray Allen:flushed:

Doesn’t get great lift on his shot, being he’s not overly athletic. He makes up for it thought with a seriously quick release. I’m excited to see what he can add to our team next year.

Every team needs a confident shooter. Between Baker, Herro, and Johnson, we may have three.
Between Herro and baker you have two that excel at shot making, not playmakers by any standard though. I think Johnson is more of a scorer playmaker than a shooter but I think he will compliment them well. Quickley Will be a solid mix I think of a solid shooter as well as a solid playmaker. Here’s to next year

I'm excited to see Barker play. Our fan base is interesting, there are people who say we need all top end players, we get those players and they have the potential but sometimes the skills/IQ need time to develop.

Then we have people who say just recruit skilled players, who cares what their ranking is. Well here you go... Barker and Herro fit that mold perfectly for those of you that are in that "skill" over "potential" camp.

Johnson has continued to improve his outside jumper. Last I saw Oak Hill’s Smith said Johnson was hitting 37 percent if his 3s.

He definitely can hit the three. Probably be a bit streaky but I don’t think he will be just left unguarded like Diallo was this season. Smith also praised him as being a great teammate, which I love. I think he will be a fan favorite.

The best attribute about KJ is he has a bulldog, alpha male attitude. Something this team sorely lacked besides Quade and he was our smallest player.

I am expecting him to be 5-10 minutes at most, but then not play at all by end of the season.

Will be great by junior/senior year. I am wondering if he can become Lamb by 3/4 year. If he redshirted, maybe he can be Lamb then.

Could become interchangeable with Tyler Herro. It’s hard to keep shooters off the court.

You already have Quade who can shoot and Herro who should be able to shoot.

Too many focus on shooting too much, we can't sacrifice defending also. driving, passing, etc. Basketball is more than just shooting.

Now, i don't know for sure what skill sets JB has beyond shooting. If he has more, than he will increase his playtime, but doing that in high school, and doing in college is completely different.

I'm hoping that he is better than Taveion Hollingsworth, otherwise we may forever hear about it (i.e. Chris Lofton).

It thInk he and Shai would have complimented each other. I wonder how well he can catch and shoot after running through screens and rubs. I have not seen much of Quickley. If he can penetrate well off the dribble, our perimeter should have quite a few catch and shoot guys ready to fill it up like Derek Miller.

The kid has never played a minute of college basketball, and will have a lot of rust, so I think we should be patient and allow him to show us what he can do.

These are different subjects, and have nothing to do with 1 another. Let’s just be glad that a lot of good basketball players want to play for UK.

Villanova, Duke, Kansas - all still alive and killing it and all are excellent shooting teams. I disagree with the too much focus on shooting comment. Tell me again how Diallo and Quade and some of the other guys were getting to the rim at will? We had ONE guy that could drive the ball to the basket consistently and that was SGA.

Shooters open the floor and allow the dribble drive to be successful.

Keldon is a Cal player if ive ever seen one. Physical, strong, slasher, competitor. I hope Diallo returns (enter snide comment about ‘where would he go?’) bc him and Keldon both should play a physical style. Gotta have players who can be physical against other guards on the perimeter.

If Baker can even be a Lamb type player his impact would be tremendous.

And next year, it'll be more than 1 player. You contradict your own argument. I never said just have 1 shooter.

BTW, duke isn't top 50 in either made 3 point shot OR attempts. Kansas is top 25 in both. Only Villanova is top 10 in both.

Also...this season we have absolutely no shooting. Which again, isn't my point either. So...not sure where you are going with this. We had great shooting 16/17...and we didn't do much better. 14/15 was ****** shooting and we made final four.

Our biggest weakness this year is without a doubt dominant interior player.

In the game that ultimately did us in, we were 23-37 from the foul line and 3-12 from the three point line. Now, I know it was only 1 game but ultimately a lack of shooters was a major problem throughout the year.

Such a beautiful soft shot. The guy rarely touches the rim on his makes. I remember watching Reddick shoot at Duke and thinking how pure his aim was. Rarely touched rim on jumpers. Same for Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. Impeceble aim.

Between Baker, Herro, Gabriel, Quickley, Green, Johnson, and Diallo (assuming all are on the roster next year, probably not), 3 point shooting won't be a concern. All those guys should be 35%+ shooters and Gabriel, Green, Herro, Baker, and Quickley could all easily be 40% and above.

Gotta have the post game to help em get open though.

Good chance Baker doesn’t play much next year. Will likely be behind Green, Quickley, possibly Diallo, maybe Herro and Johnson.

Don't set such as expectations and the disappointment will not be as much.

Why does every player have to be compared to the some of the greatest all time.

Ray Allen? I would've took a consistent shooter like Lamb this year.
