I didn't understand the game plan at all

I agree on tempo. How many transition points did we have?? I mean we had chances to push and speed the pace up but didn’t attempt it. Cal said he hates slow pace. This was a pathetic attempt at a game. No adjustments at all just kept saying “no where to move”
Cal wants to play fast but this team was actually not built to run. Pretty slow of foot and not very quick outside of Hami and it showed in how often our guys were beat off the dribble. The sadder thing is that this relatively slow footed team also lacked 3 point shooters and lacked an inside presence outside of PJ. Ugh. I know some guys will leave but would really love to know which of these guys could contribute much to an NBA roster in the next 2-4 years.

In the SEC Tournament Cal told the guys he hated playing slow. And then we walked the ball up the court the whole damn game, even when there were transition opportunities off missed shots. Which was even more puzzling given our struggles in the half court. I don’t understand it.
Couldn't agree more. The only two things we couldn't let KState do was slow the pace and shoot threes, and that's exactly what we let them do. We're not paying 8 million a year for terrible decisions, but that's what we got last night.

1. Again, Knox is soft and he doesn’t do well when he has to make decisions.

2. They did a great job of getting back, so you’d just be driving into people.

3. Knox’s whole game is the midrange. He’s not a perimeter shooter. He can hit spot-ups okay, but he’s not someone you can rely on to hit a lot of threes. Gabriel is simply a spot-up shooter after kickouts and he was never open.

4. We rode PJ and he couldn’t hit his ft’s. He still played hard and you can’t be mad at him too much.

Poor kid.......8-20 from the stripe. Coulda , shoulda......tough result. Reminds me of Nazr against Arizona in 1997.

6 minutes to go, down 10. Shai walking the ball up the court with zero urgency.

That never happened. Not the being down 10 part.

With around 6 minutes to go, we were down 5, and quickly cut it to 2. It was a 1 possession game the rest of the way. We weren’t down 10 the whole second half.

It looked like the players didn’t either, every time we tried to push the ball Cal put the brakes on. We couldn’t score in half court so puzzled as why he kept doing this & that last play......is that the best we could get out of a TO??? If so, wow.

I watch the NBA quite a bit. For the life of me I have no idea how Knox could possibly go in the first round. Soft, avoids contact, can't change direction off the dribble, certainly won't rebound. And they pay millions to guys like that?? No wonder Cal "develops" them after only a few months.
Because there are 30 NBA spots in the first round and you won’t find 30 guys that are ready so they draft on potential

Knox hasn't posted up all season really. Even with a guy 4" shorter guarding him hard to expect him to do that and excell when he hasn't practiced it all year.

I'm disappointed in Sasha's development so far. Richards is a freshman. I thought Sasha would be better than he is. Our 6'7 power forward is our only inside presence on offense on a team with 5 guys 6'9 or better on the roster. Many of them former 5 stars and McDonald's AA's.

We fouled out half of their starters too and their best player. They had one guy that could hurt us on that layup and we let him beat us.

Pretty awful all around night for Cal.

That's 3 times in a row (14, 15, 18) he's got a glimpse of the finish line and gotten a serious case of *** puckerage
Love the last sentence..It is Cal in a nutshell. Anal Cal.

Didn't get the ball to Knox or SGA nearly enough in the second half.

Seemed content to play k-state tempo.

Didn't spread the floor and drive when SGA seemed capable of getting to the rim.

Didn't post Knox, who was being face guarded -- often by a much smaller player.

Didn't call a timeout when down 1. Horrible possession.
Ppl never understand the game plan

I wish some of you guys could replace our staff. We would be much better off.
