Why do we all care so much? There was a lot of laziness and sleep walking out there by the Cats tonight. K-State played hard on every possession, and left it all on the floor. I may be wrong, but it looked like SGA was the only player on Kentucky that broke a sweat. I love every Kentucky team, but this had to be one of the most lackluster teams ever. I don’t care what anyone says, there is no excuse or pass for what happened tonight. Played right into their hands, and allowed the worst free throw shooter on our team to shovel dirt on us.

everyone is correct tonight and will be for a long time. there’s so many opinions because there are so many variables from our perspectives. ksu needed to do about 20 things right just to have a chance. we needed to do about 5 things right not to lose, regardless of what ksu did. all 25 things went against us. from offensive rebounding, to ball control, offensive rebounds, free throw shooting, and just toughness and energy. that’s how bad i think they are, and much we were out coached. not blaming cal or comparing but webber coached the game of his life quite honestly.

Knox played really hard tonight. And K-state beat the living crap out of him, and his ran back and forth across the lane. UK rarely got him the ball.

Cal let lowly Bruce Webber have a better game plan, and got out coached. Looked like Webber had a game plan that took initiative, and Cal's game plan was very conversvative.

Who knows what their mindset was. Nerves, overconfident, unmotivated, whatever. But KSU wanted it more and deserved to win, we didn’t deserve to steal that win the way we played.
It was an F performance tonight. If we somehow pulled out the win at the end it would of still been a D-. It happens. Unfortunately

As a fan I care because of the name that is on the front of the jersey...that's why I care if the team wins or loses. That jersey represents my state and the University I graduated from...that's why I care...or am I looking too deep into your question?

Knox played hard as well

Worked his *** off trying to get open.. we didn't get him the ball

He could have carried us if we let him initiate the offense with about 10 left.
That takes coaching. We didn't get much of that tonight, unfortunately.

Cal was very passive... it was almost like someone had taken the "Cal remote" and turned the volume wayyyyyyyyy down.

And that was why we lost. With all the other crap ... if we just fed Knox the last 5 minutes we win by 5-7
He didn't seem to be working all that hard to get the ball. The great one's demand the ball and get it done like the player from KST that took their last shot.

I actually made a comment in the gamethread that I am far too emotionally involved. I actually walked upstairs to work in the 2nd half, put the game on and didn’t make a sound. Gonna shoot for better perspective going forward.

I feel bad for PJ! He wanted this game but his free throw weren't going In. I hope we get to watch him as a sophomore next season.

Can’t really measure passion of someone with no skin in the game. Sweat generated by beer curls don’t count.

I agree.
These Cats really wanted to win.
Shai made too many turnovers, but walking it up the court may have been the 7 million dollar man's idea. We don't know...

Listen, all of the following are true...

* Shai was off
* Kevin was AWOL in the first half
* PJ had to make those free throws
* We got nothing out of Richards or SKJ
* Cal continues to come up short in games like this

But the reason we lost tonight, the main reason, is that we play the game a certain way almost every game, then we get to the tournament and we're forced to play in a game with 51 fouls. Even if they're calling them on both teams, it takes away an inexperienced player's confidence. The same thing has killed us in the loss to UNC and this loss. It's ACC foulfest b******t. It kills us and benefits UNC or Duke every year.

Kind of like when KAT was unstoppable but we stopped feeding him the ball so the Harrison Twins could be the hero’s. I hate when we freaking beat ourselves. I can take a loss when you give your best shot but just come up a hair short. Not when you come out of the gates shooting yourself in the foot with a rocket launcher. Hellen Keller could have out shot PJ at the line. SGA couldn’t have been any worse. Cal was bad. If just a couple guys would have played average, we win comfortably.

I think he was gassed at the end. K-state came at him hard. Foul trouble on Diallo kept him from getting any rest. One way to get a little blow is slow down initiating the play. I’ve been watching guard do that for years.

Honestly...if one guy between wenyen, shai, or pjs free throws just hit their average of the last 10 games..we are talking about Loyola right now

PJ played great, but he choked his guts out shooting free throws. He'll get better.
It should never have come to that anyway. Cal decided to play into KStates hands by letting them dictate the tempo and shoot threes. We're paying him 8 million a year for this brilliance.

Knox is slow of foot and can’t create separation, a fast defender can deny Knox the ball and that’s what happened. SGA couldn’t drive to kick either, I think our foot speed as a team was down and certainly below KSU.

BS. He looked like Reggie Miller out there running back and forth along the baseline. The problem became was that was the only way UK could get him the ball, and K State did a good job of jumping those screens. How about placing him at the elbow? Run a little SGA/Knox pick and roll and force switches? The last 5 minutes on offense were downright atrocious.

I thought SGA didn't break enough sweat. Terrible one on one defense. Did not use his size & length to his advantage on offense & look to finish at rim on drives. Looked tired. Crap...its NCAA tourney, adrenaline should be through the roof. No excuses

A fast but SHORT defender! Post him up! Good grief!
