Watched this on him about his background and his community. Basically a mountain kid from a small town of not even 2000 people . Wanted to be great at a young age and worked on his game since he was young. Said he was 6' tall and a commentator said he had a 48" verticle.
Real good piece on him and I hope you guys enjoy it, hope he does well at Georgetown.

I went to school with his cousins, they are all fairly large people. One of them played professional baseball.

I read his name out loud three times trying to figure out what joke his name makes... ala Mike Hunt, Phil McGroin, or Ben and Eileen Dover.

After his incredible senior season, it seems pretty clear now that this kid was severely underrated by the scouting services.

But I am curious what weaknesses caused him to be ranked so low? Usually the problem with prospects from the mountains is they're too damn slow and un-athletic, but that is certainly NOT the case with this one.

6 foot white guy dropping between the legs dunk during a game. Wow.

Georgetown just became my second favorite team for the next 1-4 years.

I keep thinking it would be awesome to have had him to watch him dunk...Then I see Hami out there (had the same thought about him) who has dunked it like 4 times this year. He's been playing well as of late but I can't think of a highlight dunk he has had outside of the windmill in the previous game.

Been watching his game for a while and actually stumbled across this video myself yesterday. As you said, big time talent and personality coming from such a small town in Virginia. Not sure how his game will translate to the college game but this is the kind of kid I'd imagine would've tore the 80s and 90s up. In today's game, I just assume it'd be a different animal but I hope the best from him.

Speaking of talented average sized white kids, Jordan McCabe's pretty talented too.

Georgetown - that's where my Dad received a baseball scholarship to play. He ended up not going and then joined the Air Force and was stationed in Colorado Springs. Long story. Let's just say it was the biggest mistake of his life and there was no close second.

The put back dunk was more impressive.

Cool story...seems like a real good kid. Hope he does well at GTown.

Man, some of those dunks would be ridiculous for guys that are 6'6 or 6'7

Going to be very interesting to see what he does in a big time enviroment. Didnt exactly tear it up in AAU ball vs elite players. He and Jordan McCabe another white boy with game going to WVU are the mixtape kings but will it translate.?

My dad had to go into the Military when he was 18 because of the war. He was recruited by many D1 programs including UK out of high school.

He doesn't like talking about it much, it really effected him. That's why I have trouble empathizing with these spoiled and coddled athletes today. All you have to do is shut up and play basketball for one year - you get to live the dreams of others, then go pro and make as much as you want.

And people cant even agree on that without thinking they deserve even more.

They don't.
