Any doubt Bill Conlin ate a 2,000+ calorie breakfast before every episode of the Sports Reporters?
Chris Mack been in works for a while now. Family in the area have been saying it since pitino was on the ropes. Will be a good hire but still have some obstacles ahead.
Any time you can go from second fiddle in a city to second fiddle in a state, you have to make that move imoI don’t get coaches sometimes.
Chris Mack....
- coaches at his alma mater in his hometown
- makes enough money that his kids in theory won’t have to work
- competes against an in-town mid major rival and one conference rival (Villanova) on a year in year out basis
- is able to at least get a 1 seed at his current job
And seems like he may leave that gig for..
- school he doesn’t really have any ties to except I guess his in laws live in town
- will make more money
- will have to recruit/compete against UK, Duke, UNC, UVA, etc. etc. on an annual basis
- while waiting to see what the NCAA does to his school
- appeasing a fanbase with unrealistic expectations while staring down a bleak short term future
This, and they're setting up their next ones for if we lose. You answered your own question, imo. They hoped/assumed we'd have been out a long time ago to validate all their HOT TAKES.
The ol sports take long game. Classic move, really. This, and they're setting up their next ones for if we lose.
It's Pat Forde, right? Of course it is.No idea why College Basketball Media is after UK right now for our easy path, when a month ago the MFers were crowing about this being Cal’s worst team.
Feel free to gorge yourself on beer and pizza, Willy.
