We never get that lucky
Stranger things have happened but I’m holding my breath. That said, there are only two PAC 12 teams left.
Cornell in 2010.
We got lucky in 1998 with Arizona and UNC getting beat by Utah as well IMO.
Agreed overall it VERY RARELY HAPPENS.
That Cornell team was the third best team in our region. They were really good. Completely took apart Temple and Wisconsin in the first two rounds.
When is the last time someone with a higher seed beat our next possible opponent?
We haven't seen anything out of the PAC 12 yet that says they are world beaters. If we hit 8-10 3's we should be all that Arizona wants and maybe a little more.Just win the first one and let's see what happens.Stranger things have happened but I’m holding my breath. Higgins was on the whistle for that one and it was much closer than it should have been, despite the final score. I think it affected our energy 2 days later when we faced WVU . . . and lost. They never stood a chance against UK though.
If we hit 10 threes it won't be close. They haven't seen a defense like Kentucky since Purdue who beat them by 25.We haven't seen anything out of the PAC 12 yet that says they are world beaters. If we hit 8-10 3's we should be all that Arizona wants and maybe a little more.Just win the first one and let's see what happens.
Their weakness is interior defense. So how in the world will they keep Ayton from doing whatever he wants.
If Arizona can slow the game down, I dont think Buffalo has any chance
We never get that lucky
We have a history of no busted brackets. Duke lost in 2012 but other than that.
I'm pretty sure Buffalo will try to beat Ayton down the floor if they can get the ball off the board at all.I don't expect them to win but if they can compete maybe we will learn something.Ayton's scoring in losses: 27, 17, 22, 26, 19, 16, 28. He gets his, win or lose. Also, Arizona will definitely want to slow it down. They're slower than average (a little slower than us), while Buffalo is 15th fastest in tempo.

We have so much cleared for us after Arizona.. but I just have a feeling we won't get to take advantage of Virginia's injury or Cincy being a weak #2. Not even because of something we did.. but because the basketball God's just won't allow it to happen.
Yes, Buffalo can absolutely beat Arizona.
It's not overly likely, but Buffalo can score the ball like nobody's business.
Arizona doesn't play much defense.
Bad combination.
Again, not likely, but possible.

We can laugh because "Basketball Gods" infers some higher spiritual being. When in actuality, I really just mean the NCAA. And if you don't think they've been doing their best to hold us down...
It is easy to get that feeling. If you think of all the off court issues that Arizona has had this season yet here they are,we got Vanderbilt back but now we don't have him anymore. We had to wait till the SECT to see this team come together. It has been a star crossed season. You might think we are the youngest team ever(if you happen to forget it for 30 seconds or so Cal will remind you)We have so much cleared for us after Arizona.. but I just have a feeling we won't get to take advantage of Virginia's injury or Cincy being a weak #2. You'll never get a job with ESPN with thinking like thatSame thing i have been thinking, Arizona better not get too relaxed in that game. They have a bigger upset potential, than Kentucky does, imo..

I rest my case, you know too much[thumb2]Last 6 out of 7 years, my WKYT bracket has scored better, than what any of the "experts" on ESPN have done..

That seems high.Quick Wiki search shows that although no 16 has ever taken down a one, the 15, 14, 13 seeds have won first round games 35-40 per cent of the time. So a first round 'upset' is not an unusual occurrence. What IS rare is those teams winning another game.
