I don't think any of those guys would ever have become legit/competitive NBA players, but they could become very good Euro players. Suck it up, ninjas. Embrace what your career really is. Worked for Randy Morris.

I took basketball 101 or whatever the code was for that PE credit at UK. The “teacher” of our class was just coming off a stint as a JUCO coach, and was back at UK pursuing his masters.

He said all twelve of his Brokedick Community JUCO players legitimately thought they were going to the NBA; I can’t imagine what top recruits are thinking, but it isn’t playing in Europe.

Clemson went to the Sweet 16 in 1990 with Dale Davis and Elden Campbell. They lost to UConn on a buzzer beater by Tate George. The next game UConn lost to Duke on a buzzer beater by Laettner to go to the FF, his first of those.

Good luck convincing the family that their child shouldn't rush to the NBA and try to make money as quick as possible, especially when most of them didn't even go to college. That plays just a big if not bigger role in their decision process. I'm sure most of the kids love college but your parents/guardians whoever have a big role on your decision process when you're 18.
If it was just about them, I think plenty of our guys would stick around longer. But it's not, kids like Wenyen have entire families just waiting for them to start producing any sort of income.

I think we probably lose him this year for that reason.

Pushing your kid to the league early so you can mooch off of them is absolutely disgusting. You survived 18ish years without them being in the NBA, maybe try a few more and consider their best interests instead.

There was an article in (I think) Sports Illustrated once about all of the people Ron Artest supported. You damn near had to fold that thing out like a centerfold.

We lose Wenyen to some podunk ******** league this year and I’m going to be furious. Maybe his family should consider getting a f*cking job for a few years before trying to suck him dry.

Wenyen already has two siblings that have graduated from good colleges (BC, New Hampshire), so I think he’s in better shape than most ya racist.

I was actually referencing Showkiller's post. I don't know **** about Wenyen's family. But I know if they push him to leave early for no good reason then they're garbage.

Geez don’t attack the messager. Nice thanks for passing some premium HOB speculation along to GYERO.

Guess I’ll keep TJ’s notes to myself in the future.

You mean....

Maybe his family should consider _Chase_ from the internet wants him to give up a year off his small window for a career so that UK can win a few more basketball games.

No, that's not at all what I mean, but if it makes you feel better, you're free to think that. In fact, Anth, I'm not sure why you want guys to come here at all, as from your perspective it seems it would be much smarter to skip right to the moderate money making stage and go to Europe right out of high school.

If a guy has a real chance to get into the NBA by developing in college, as Wenyen does, and his family thinks it is better for him that he instead go travel halfway across the world and disappear to the basketball world while playing for a decent salary and getting no real instruction...then they very simply are not looking out for his best interests. They are, in fact, the worst.

If a guy like Wall was offered a $5,000,000.00 1 year deal from a Chinese team, would you have rather he had taken that, or would you have rather he played at Kentucky for a year? Regardless of your answer, you're full of ****.

(1) If you choose Kentucky, you're a hypocritical loser.

(2) If you choose China, you're a liar.

Why don't you come on down off that high horse before you hurt yourself?

I'd much prefer to have guys like Teague, Wenyen, Briscoe, Orton, Wiltjer, Humphries stick around and I don't think it would hurt their career, not sure it would help it either, but don't sit here and act like it's anything other than selfish desire to have them come back. I'm not mad when they leave. Sorry that you are.

We have 10 years of this, do you think it's changing? I've come to terms with it. Obviously, you haven't.

Of course I want him to come back because Kentucky will be better. He's not my child. I don't owe him **** and he doesn't owe me ****. But yes, simultaneously, it does inherently piss me off when people in positions of authority manipulate these guys for their own gain.

If the kid makes a decision to leave, and it is legitimately his own decision, then more power to him. I'd say he's an idiot, but I won't feel bad for him and I won't hate him. I feel bad for the guys who are manipulated into making poor decisions because Momma needs a new house quicker.

-I like Sam Ponder's instagram.

-St. Louis was good as the guys have said.

Still not sure why it's hard to figure out that a 16 top at Ruth's Chris isn't going to have one person pay the $1600+ tab. Especially when the server upsold some wine and a seafood tower to one end of the table and not the other. They managed to cook everything to perfection and everything was completely on point until they acted surprised that we wanted checks divided out. They told us it would take 45 minutes to do. False.

-Boise... that's a far and expensive trip. Not in the cards this season.

-My mom texted me and said "Why is Adrian in Vegas and not with you all?"

-Time zone change + daylight savings + 4 days of adult spring break =:zzz::zzz::zzz::zzz::zzz:

^ mainly to avoid a weekend centered around Tin Roof and large parties at chain restaurants.

One day Sloot will learn how to notify servers in these famously large parties, just apparently not yet.

(above scenario has happened at least 20 times over the years).

My favorite play of the game on Sunday was the breakaway in the 2nd half led by Green... A little hesistaton dribble to freeze the back peddling defender, his eyes got big as he looked the other way and then he zipped a no look to Knox for the lay up.

Twice that I recall.

Once in Chicago, which was complete BS because we were all at separate tables in a bar. About 10 of which I barely knew and slid in and out during the time we were there.

This last time, I get a little more. 16 people at a bar table. Pretty easy to see what's going on. Typically in that setting the server asks first thing. If you're going to allow that number of people to sit together, split the tab. What else are you going to do?

If you're not going to allow splitting then either clarify it right next to the where it says, gratuity automatically added for parties over 6 OR don't allow parties that size.

Amazing 95% of restaurants can easily split tabs without trouble.

I typically agree with 8 but I will also go along with the group occasionally. I'm not just going to stay home because a few extras jumped in.
