Yeah - that Purdue team was great after Robbie Hummel went down.

And Duke was “far and away” one of the two best teams over the whole season?

How can you say that and look at yourself in the mirror?

Bottomline they beat Wisconsin we didn't

I believe the first time I heard about Kenpom was after Duke won in 2010. He was crowing about how his model said they were a much better team than the polls thought and that Duke winning it all proved him right.

Pretty sure the rest of the country didn't think that Duke was as good or better than teams like UK. I know I sure didn't.

Kenpom is a useful data point but it can spit out gibberish, just like the human polls and seeding committee do.

Bottom line: We got cheated (and everyone knows it); then Duke got a very favorable whistle against Wisconsin.

Both of these titles - Duke gets a weak bracket, and then gets fortunate, because UK gets jobbed, and Duke doesn't have to play them.

There are a small number of blind bats left who don't see it, but that pack is getting smaller by the day.

Bro come on ,all we had to do is beat Wisconsin , we didn't end of story. Stop making excuses we lost they were the better team that night.

Never happened with Jabari or any freshman. In fact, after the Jarbari loss K went into the Mercer locker room and congratulated them on the win.

You obviously didn’t pay enough attention.

All of this was from the same presser after the Mercer game. Maybe you were crying afterward and missed it?

“Jabari’s a freshmen. He had a tough matchup. [Jabari’s man] moved Jabari around a lot. When you do that, you can get beaten.”

“They’re [Hood and Parker] six for twenty-four in a game (from the field)…we’re a little bit unpredictable because of our youth…we didn’t get that from our two best guys.”

“It’s obvious [Parker and Hood] did not have great games for us…for us to win, they have to have good games. It just so happens, that when they haven’t, it’s over.”

“Hood and Parker did not have easy games tonight.”

“The only time we had an inside presence was when (pauses, looks up, holds back words) he was really strong inside, and [Parker] did that a lot (this season); but that’s not really what [Parker] does. That’s not his strength.”

“We showed our youth.”

“The tournament sometimes places you in a position where you have a younger team. Not just in age, but in physical maturity. Our inside guys are young. They’re just young, and we’ve gone through that all year.”

“Those swings that we’ve had sometimes produced losses, and today they produced a loss.”

Cue the violins because your opponent hit a lot of shots that you should have stopped. How dare they make shots! I mean didn’t they check the season stats going into that game? They also shot 41% from 3 against Duke. (5-12..Not as good as Duke’s 52% from 3 though. 13-25)

Tell me, did the leap strain you physically when you jumped on the bandwagon during Duke’s first run? Must have been a courageous moment for you, taking all that crap just for cheering for a program that went to 7 Final Fours in 9 years.

Oh yeah, tell me again how you graduated from there and your fandom is purely organic…

And yet all these big-time recruits are picking K over Cal recently. I don't think this board's impression of K's selfishness is shared by his current, past, and future players and their families.

I’m told Bolden loves his current role in Durham, and that Thornton and Jeter send candy grams to Coach K on a bi-monthly basis.

You can thank Jerry Colangelo for your recent recruiting swing. When he handed K the keys to the Team USA Castle, he handed him the Sutter’s Mill of recruiting; and let’s be honest, K needed it.

Not that it’s helped you. Batting 3/13 in getting past the Sweet Sixteen in the last thirteen years is nothing to brag about, especially with the perks that the NCAA lines up for you every year and the Team USA advantage.

Quite a drive by you just did on this thread. Did you lose internet for a week?

Re: Bolden - shall we bet if he's at Duke next year? Thornton was definitely held back at Duke - remind me how he's doing at USC? Yeah, Jeter being gone sucks, I hope he rocks UA next year.

Can you clarify how Cal used USA basketball last summer to get all sorts of recruiting advantages, just like K did (and apparently still does)?

Show me in this thread where I'm bragging about our tourney flame outs. And remind me why the best team in 2010 and 2015 wasn't good enough to even get to Duke, much less beat them?
