Moving all day so took this one in via Leach and Treyville. Sounds like I made the right call (as if I had a choice lol).

Oh well. Win a few in St. Louie, grab a 4-6 seed and hope for some help in the bracket for once.
Gal signed us up for 8am(you read that right, EIGHT AM on vacation)zip lining which was awesome out here in the desert after choosing to go to Blue Man Group at 10pm last night. GOOD JOB, GOOD EFFORT! But actually not that upset about it after how this game went down.

Hanging in and even a little momentum -> Washington Vando get 2 fouls -> insert Diallo, Richards and Wenyen -> the get blazing hot because we can't guard the drives -> down 15 in 4-5 minutes. Difference in the game. Played decent around that.

Must have 3 of these on the court at all times:
Knox
Vando
Washington
Green
SGA

Must not have more than 2 of these at any time, preferably 1.
Richards
Diallo
Wenyen
Sasha

One of Richards biggest problems is he doesn’t give enough effort. I don’t know if he thinks he’s playing hard, but he definitely isn’t. You don’t get beaten for loose balls and rebounds as consistently as he does if you’re going 100%.

Bottom line is right now he is a terrible basketball player and does worse than give us nothing. He’s a net positive for opponents.

He shouldn’t play another minute this year if he doesn’t show drastic immediate improvement. If he gets pissy and wants to transfer over it, so be it.

I think we'll make the tournament, but I don't think Louisville will. I looked at their schedule, and they may only be a favorite in one more regular season game. They're gonna wind up with 12-14 losses unless they pull a few upsets.
Back on February 11th after they beat Pittsburgh by 34 to go to 18-8. :sunglasses:[thumb2]

I mean, for Ole Miss Thad Matta would be a grand slam.

Issue is he can't move. His back is beyond effed up. During the tourney last year Huggins and Roy Williams made it to a HS Tourney game here in Columbus, OSU without making the tourney sent an assistant cause Thad couldn't move.

At least other teams have to account for Wenyen. Florida was basically not even guarding Richards or Diallo...it makes it so difficult on SGA and Knox when they are essentially being double teamed because we are playing 3 on 5 on offense.

Hell, at least Sasha can hit that midrange J and not bobble a rebound or pass when it hits him square in the hands.

For all Cal’s stuff about “I can’t hide you” he sure does have certain guys he treats with kid gloves. Those guys aren’t getting that leash in the G League.

- Richards plays like a guy who knows he doesn’t know how to play basketball. I hear the “no hands” stuff but I think a lot of the time that stuff comes down to lack of confidence.

- Yeah, I know we’ve been at this move for two months and moving today for 12 hours but would it have been so hard for the lass to humor my sentimentality tonight? Come on- I bought this place when I was 26. Give me nostalgia some acknowledgement. :grimace: Bitches be unsentimental.

- Best two weeks of the year, so I don’t know, maybe fake some confidence for the sake of happiness, you skeptical bitches.

- When push comes to shove, I want Carolina and their **** fans to suffer more than Duke and their **** fans. It’s close but clear.

I'd give the hate edge a bit to UNC because they actually have a fan base. Well, that and the whole "right way/systematic fraud."

UNC is closer to UofL on my hate meter than Duke is to UNC.

SEC draw is as optimal as it could have possibly been.

^ eh. Duke has 2 titles during Cal's run, UNC has 1. Kentucky also has 1, irrc.

Gary Trent Jr., 6'6, who's a better athlete than given credit for and arguably has the sweetest J in the nation is nowhere to be seen on any draft board, while Diallo checks in on all of them.

LOL

This seems to happen quite a bit with our guys, and it pisses me off a little, but it also should demonstrate to recruits you don’t have to be as good at Kentucky as you do other places. Kentucky effect is a real thing.

^ as I've said all season, his athleticism (his only real attribute) doesn't translate to the basketball floor at ALL unless it's a breakaway situation.

Different players entirely, but he needs to look out west to Malik Newman to see it's okay to stick around in college, gradually improve your game, and win. If that kid, of all people, can suck it up and realize he's nowhere near the prospect he was once thought to be, Hami can.

Veritcal jump in basketball is quickly becoming the combine 40 in football.

Means absolutely nothing. Hami is alot of things, but explosive isn't one of them. Laterally he is quite average, and his vertical jump rarely shows itself in game situations. He plays as flat footed as any guard labelled explosive that I can remember during the Cal era. Totally agree with BBdK and the Gary Trent thing, but just like Booker did if Trent had come here he'd be a first round projection no doubt.

Drives me nuts that there is this stigma if you aren't one and done here then you've failed, which creates a ton of unneeded pressure.

I'd give a finger to trade Hami for Lamb on this team.

Not many player’s games I’ve hated more than WCS and Richards. I wish we never had em. Thank God Richards likely won’t have the opportunity to cost us in the biggest basketball game ever. Great kids though. WCS actually loved school and lived for art. Nick escaped the rough streets of Jamaica to chase his dreams and end generational poverty. Wow, how about that.

WCS was f*cking awesome. Especially after he developed into a defensive monster. Loved that dude. If you want to talk about worthless sacks of crap on the court, I'm gonna offer for your consideration Skal Labissierre.
