“Sort by name” becomes the canonical sort-by-date regardless of new files inside the folders. What kind of asisine folder structure are you living with? Holy Moly.

- Do you all go through pens at what seems to be an alarming rate? I know I do. I bet I average one per week. If I don’t have one in front of me ready to go, sometimes I just print an email as cover to go pick up another pen. I don’t even like looking in my bag, even though I know they’re in there - for sure. Once I unpack that baby to start the day, it doesn’t exist until I’m packing it up, IMO. I think everyone is on to me now, though, with my wanton pen wasting. We’ll see.

The reason I initially signed up for Amazon Prime (accidentally, at that) was to order my Pilot Better Retractable ballpoint pens, medium tip, in black, after they stopped carrying them in stores.

I've managed to keep track of most of that dozen for a few years, but only because I started bringing bags of cheapass bic pens with me whenever we have events out of the office. Inevitably, someone always asks me for a pen because they see me using one, and then it disappears... like, you're coaching a soccer game, where the hell did you even put it?

I'm sure there are quite a few people who think I'm a freak when they ask to use my pen for a second and instead of just giving them the one in my hand, I dig a loser pen out. But that's something I'm willing to accept.

Knox got a meal. First, the spreadsheet showing the meals shows no proof that the amount is paying for both agent and player. Just says "meal with Kevin Knox" or "Meal with Wendell Carter." The plane tickets on there are a different story, but that ain't us. If the NCAA really thinks they have the time and resources at this point to try to figure out if Kevin Knox had a steak bought for him, a year ago, that's on them, but good luck getting anyone to admit to that and this is the only paper trail, and it has no proof. None of the players listed as having a meal is gonna mean anything.

The loans are a more damning issue. Bam getting a loan is bad, but first, if the worst thing that comes from this is a vacated elite eight run, I can probably live with that considering the scope of this.

Secondly, I think this will just be the death of the NCAA as a compliance body and the death of amateurism. They don't have the resources or the balls to go after all of this. The feds aren't interested in helping them while they prosecute big boy crimes. And they're not gonna investigate twenty different teams, twenty different eligibility issues, and vacate 30-40 seasons of different teams results. They just won't. Everyone will just stop paying attention to them.

What it will do is give delusional Louisville something to try to use to say "LOOK IT'S NOT JUST US, IT'S EVERYBODY" with no real interest in how that's not remotely true. Dinner at Carraba's doesn't exactly equate to paid sexual favors and Adidas money. But expect to hear plenty of false equivalency today regardless.

Bam is a problem.
The good thing is it doesn't seem likely they have any evidence of Kentucky or Cal doing anything. Nor any of the other schools. Maybe more come out later, but what we see in the article is at worst an issue of eligibility, not of compliance. Not with what we have in the article. The max they could do is wipe out 2017. Which would be awful, but it would likely be us and 30 other schools, and I don't think the NCAA has the balls, or the time to chase all of this. They'll need more than a single expenditure sheet.

And there's nothing here that would lead to any sanctions or banners coming down.

If this is all there is on UK, I’d be happy with that. It’s not ideal, but it’s no where near what I was expecting when viewed in the context of Bowen’s recruitment and all the media hype.

Article links direct meetings with coaches, just not ours thankfully.

Worst case scenario we could drop below Kansas and UNC in all time wins. Assuming they don't end up getting games vacated too.

At the end of the day, no 2012 players are mentioned. I figured we had to have a name on the list. Kind of funny two of the three names are from our worst teams.

There's nothing in itself wrong with a coach meeting with an agent. They'll need another connection somewhere. Something showing the payments and the meetings with coaches are linked, like the phone calls they are supposed to have with Rick and his assistants.

That being said, there's likely more to the story that will be coming beyond what's in this article. The NCAA has shown they don't want to touch this until the feds get done. This will take years before the NCAA can even begin to investigate. Then that will take years. That's if the NCAA or the culture of amateurism even still exist in 5-7 years.

Louisville fans 24 hours ago: "The NCAA is a sham! They're an obsolete organization that we should completely ignore!"

Louisville fans this morning: "The NCAA better drop the hammer on these programs, too! They better get their comeuppance!"

Can't have it both ways, kids.
