I wouldn't say UNC and Duke are in the clear. Tony Bradley's name has been mentioned.

The issue is whether the NCAA can act on information in sealed indictments.

They need to start with aau, that's where these relationships start. Just look for the sleazeball with slick back hair trying to cozy up to players parents. Its Damn shame

Hate to see UK players on there, but as others have said with so many involved there's just no way the NCAA will come down hard on all of them, especially their golden children Puke and UNCHEAT.

I wish that, somehow, this could lead to the big power conferences to tell the NCAA to take a hike and form their own governing body.

Well if this is true, lets not follow the example set by some "other fans" of their schools.

Lets dig into it, get to the bottom of it, deal with it, accept whatever punishment goes along with it, and move on!

If this stuff runs as deep as they're saying, it'll probably lead to rule changes instead of penalties, because there's no way that the NCAA will allow college basketball to be destroyed.
Absolutely do not dig into any

Absolutely do not dig into anything. Deny, deny, and deny again! You must not remember 1989. I remember listening on the radio when the NCAA announced the sanctions against us. The first few minutes all they did was praise UK for all of their work. Said it was the most thorough job that they had seen, and that the NCAA had to do very little. I remember after hearing those comments thinking the penalties would not be too bad, and then they absolutely hammered us. So always deny, deny, and deny again!!

It is what it is...

I know one thing.

I have been so turned off by watching other fan base's denial when it comes to scandal, and I hope that we deal with this head on and accept it.

With that being said, I have NO IDEA how in the world any school can guard against something like this.

We have a system in place to do things the right way, and if things happen before a recruit even commits to you, that's a tough deal.

These benefits were given to Bam and Knox when it appeared that they were going to go to other schools.

Meh.

As long as no on at UK was arranging the payments like Louisville staffers then we will be fine. Forfeit some wins and may get some type of probation. UNC** and Duke being in the boat with us makes it a little easier to take.

I just don't see how anyone could monitor outside 3rd parties on issues like this. The NCAA needs an enema.

Also, this thing may drag out for a looooong time. Louisville hasn't even been hit with their notice of infractions yet.

If this is all there is then I would be happy at this juncture.

This is not a sealed indictment. This was discovery. Likely, the defendants were given this documentation and they are revealing it. Or it was filed with the court.

It would lead to a power conference like Cal has talked about. If it was before a kid commits, there's not anything you can do.

If that's all they have on Duke that Wendell Carter received a meal that's almost laughable. No player should have to be an in eligible for receiving a meal from anybody that's ridiculous. I do have a question though how are these guys getting information from sealed documents . wouldn't that compromise the FBI's case big time? It looks like most of the coaches knew nothing. But the players that received money might have to give it back

Pat Forde is unlikely to defame Bam and Kevin to get to Cal. The fact that Bam did not sign with Miller probably is support for the assumption that Cal did not know.

It may also suggest Bam did not receive the money, but maybe his family did.
Or is it a possibility Bam nor his family received any money and this is just a BS tax write off this company uses for players that don't sign with them?? I tend to think not, but who knows in this shady business.

Knox is fine. It is ok to meet with agents prior to eligibility being gone. It is not ok to sign with an agent.

It may have ultimately been a blessing that Higgins F'ed us over, we get to wipe most of an NIT season off the books and Knox owes money for some chicken fingers.
That looks like the worst case scenario here so far.

Well, Bam (if true), is by far the worst case scenario.

If you believe UK did nothing wrong, you play him.

But this gets back to the question of regular season vs. postseason eligibility.

Would we keep postseason wins this year if they said "you only got those because you played an ineligible player during the regular season?"

I feel like there's no additional risk to playing him the rest of the way. Only potential reward if we win and end up going unpunished.

Based on what is known at the present, I am not worried about this at all. With the list so long it will be harder for the NCAA to pick and choose which school is favored or not. Duke and UNC always get by so this makes it even harder for the NCAA to do anything. Save UNC and Duke, I think they will only go after a school that was also involved, not just a recruit they signed who was involved without their knowledge. If they had knowledge that changes things.

But who knows it is the NCAA.

Call me crazy, but this looks good to me. The Auburn-Cam Newton precedent will protect us and regardless, there too many big names involved, NCAA will def punt on this

You have to believe UK AND Knox did nothing wrong. If Knox took something that UK doesn’t know anything about he is still an ineligible player. Will not surprise me if we sit him until NCAA or UK compliance office reviews and “clears” him

That's where LeBron comes in, he can pay for a meal and he's not affiliated with any school but he can steer a kid to a certain school for a certain company that he is affiliated with. But he's not an agent so he's good.. Lol

So do we need to sit Knox tomorrow? Will there be a lot of teams sitting players tomorrow just to make sure? Man that is a tough call!
