Pat Forde just laid it all out

[RobbieRandolph]

All of this over $200 and a free meal at Anthony's.

[FISHDAWG]

sounds like a witch hunt = A source with knowledge of the investigation said the NCAA contacted nearly a dozen players who were recruited by Mississippi State.

[tenureplan]

Ironic - "Not one person out here has given me anything,"

Then he lists out all of the free stuff he got...

My guess is that he turned us in after he didn't get the job.

$55 cleaning fee? He must have trashed his room too.

[AlSwearengen]

how would he know that several other players were getting benefits like he claims?

[tenureplan]

Damnit, Wasn't Forde's article supposed to be about Auburn?

nm

[KurtRambis4]

So basically

the "major benefits" were lodging and meals for the coach? Can't the recruit just state (and probably be truthful in saying this) that he didn't know. Thus, we will get off based upon precedence set by the NCAA in cases where the recruit didn't know.

[HueFreeze]

lets start the Forde hates MSU talk aGAIN

POS... thank God Stricklin and compliance stopped douche from being hired!

What's so funny is that just CJ's payola from Ole Miss makes all this crap look so petty its not even worth talking about.

[BehrDawg]

De'Vinner is a liar

and the whole truth will come out. Don't jump to conclusions until both sides of the story have been told.

[RedRight88]

Now when has that ever happened? (rolls eyes, then stares toward Auburn)

[TheBigBadDawg]

Well, he certainly doesn't seem delusional or bitter about anything...

"The interview was supposed to be a formality to pretty much get Will [to sign]," De'Vinner said. "But after I interviewed it shocked them, because of the way I sold myself, and it went from being a formality to they wanted to hire me. Compliance wasn't sure because I didn't have any experience in the position, and so did the athletic director [Scott Stricklin]."

[dawgstudent]

And Forde gets in his obligatory Mississippi slam...

Such a room currently costs $150 per night according to the Old Waverly website, expensive for rural Mississippi.

Has he priced the Hilton Garden Inn on game weekends?

[BehrDawg]

Ironic - "Not one person out here has given me anything,"

Very good point. He has received stuff from multiple schools, some worse than others. Our interactions with him rank soft in that category.

[thunderclap]

He doesn't. It's a fluff article from a guy who has constantly taken jabs at State, for whatever reason.

[Bud.sixpack]

And he also said he told Will to "take that **** to the grave". And now he is spilling all the beans.

[KurtRambis4]

Freezus, this guy (Forde)

is a douche

[War Machine Dawg]

God knows Forde has an agenda, but I didn't take that as a slam. $150/night is expensive. Or do you want to argue that West Point isn't "rural Mississippi?" Because most of our state IS rural, and I'm damn proud of it.

[tenureplan]

This boils down to

he didn't get the job, so he rolled over fabricated some stuff on us

[Shmuley]

He didn't get the job.

[War Machine Dawg]

^^^Excellent Point!^^^

[dawgstudent]

i'm saying $150/night for game weekends is normal and cheaper than about 4 or 5 places in Starkville.

[fishwater99]

This.....

[War Machine Dawg]

Being "normal" doesn't mean it isn't expensive. Also, that wasn't a game weekend. That was a recruiting weekend, presumably in January.

[tenureplan]

why didn't I think of that? oh wait...

[benatmsu]

He didn't get the job.

While I believe that's a big part of where this guy's coming from, what reason did we have to disassociate a booster and fire the guy that recruited this kid if there weren't any shenanigans with is recruitment?

[Dawgbreeze]

i'm saying $150/night for game weekends is normal and cheaper than about 4 or 5 places in Starkville.

You are correct. The Comfort suites 2 night price is over $500.00 now. This guy is a douche.

[JackShephard]

HOW SOON?! You seem to have a lot of knowledge of the situation, but you are very cryptic which I understand....but spill whatever you can for us peons please! PS - you're not herring are you? J/k

[DaRealistDawg]

My version...He knows his skreet cred

is about to go to $hitter. So, what does he do, he goes on the offensive front with a "don't blame me" "I do this for the kids and my Grandmame."

Sick, vengeful bastard that tried to blackmail us after the job and AAU structured handing meeting that these guys insist on for da kids, goes south for reasons previously discussed and background checks, declares hire me or else, we called him out, he tells other coaches that bring NCAA in with him being a witness, spirals out of control to include other players on his team and their schools they went to, and then he realizes more dirt on him and his impropriety "heppin" and goes on H2H when he realizes no one is playing ball with him anymore. 17 him.

I have a hard time believing he is welcomed at MSU anymore. Do you think anyone at MSU, admins, AD, hell, the coaches, wanted to be called out like that?! Awe, hells naw

[dawgstudent]

If the price is "normal" which means it's on average, it's thus not expensive. It's what the market demands.

[msuJD164]

easy fix.... all will has to do is say he did not know Coach was getting free rooms or meals..... it worked for au right?

[Daddy Rabbit Dawg]

i'm saying $150/night for game weekends is normal and cheaper than about 4 or 5 places in Starkville.

I paid $149 at the Hilton Garden Inn at Starkville in August, so I'd say $150 at Old Waverly GOLF CLUB (not resort) is a pretty good deal...certainly not expensive. Also, I've stayed in the cottages on multiple occasions and they're nothing spectacular by any means.

[Toby Nash]

I don't understand how De'Vinner thinks this clears the air for him. He admits to taking benefits for himself several different times and blows the whistle on the kid as well. I'm sure it's a common practice, but his 7-on-7 gig will probably come to a halt now that this is public.

[BehrDawg]

He has income from other sources

[Toby Nash]

On a side note, if this story is correct, it certainly doesn't seem to mesh with the stories that our "beat" reporters, MSU websites, and Joe Schad were putting out...They were all centered around a car.

[BehrDawg]

You can thank Rosebowl and Wardlaw for that

[Snoop Dawg]

Could you please remove the chick in the bikini, so I can get my mind back on my work. Dayum

[Dawghouse]

You can thank Rosebowl and Wardlaw for that

Link?

[BehrDawg]

Michael, you are well aware of what you've said- you dont need a link.

[Shmuley]

The car **** goes with AU's signee, Jovon Robinson, not Redmond. Robinson's dub mass was riding around downtown with AU flags flying on his new ride (or the ride provided to someone close to Robinson).

[Dawghouse]

I'm not Michael but I'm well aware of what he's reported and he's never reported this involved a car. Private conversations do not constitute reporting.
