never understood why people compare number of FT's as opposed to number of fouls called. FT attemps are affected by things like bonus/no bonus and missed 1 and 1's that have a lot less to do with the refs.

In this game it was 26-14 which is still lopsided but not as much as the number of FT attempts. And no I'm not defending Higgins but damned if I'm going to be surprised if a Thuggins hack fest racked up 26 fouls in a game

I came over here because I knew you guys would be losing your minds over this. The discussion should be on the number of fouls. I’m sure 26 isn’t a hard number to believe there. I’m sure you remember from the UK game how Huggy Bears teaches defense. Then WVU runs the clogged toilet offense down the stretch where Carter dribbles around for 30 seconds and shoots a guarded fadeaway. You don’t get calls that way.

But I would probably reacting the same way you guys are if a rival won a game this way.

Unbelievable tonight. We played you guys, let Knox loose, and you beat us. Congratulations. Truly. You out-toughed us. We played Kansas tonight, and those little ***** asses needed John Higgins and his pair of incompetents to beat us. Despicable.

Agreed, but man how do you put up with Carter? He's a senior and I've seen him play just awful late in games.

What did you think of Azubuike's embarrassing flop? Is Self adopting K's tricks now?

WVU had a 8 point lead at the under 4 TV Timeout and couldn't hold it especially with the refs giving them 36 FT's to WVU 2 FT's. WVU had a 68-51 score without the FT's but Kansas had a 25-1 advantage at the FT Line. Kansas had a total of 36 FT's over WVU 2 FT's. I don't blame Huggins losing it and getting the 'T' at Kansas. This has happened to WVU at Kansas in the last 2-3 years. WVU had a 10 point lead with 7 minutes to go and a 8 point lead with 3:47 to go in the game. I have never seen so many fouls called on just one team like this game. I will say one thing Kansas for sure in the Big12 gets all the calls from the REFS. I agree with Huggins saying over and over about the Refs wanting part of the game and it was for a fact tonight in Lawrence Kansas. When you have a Free Throw difference of 36-2 fouls called and 25-1 made any team will win when getting 36 foul shots and the visitors get 2 FT's. WVU should have won this game at Kansas tonight.

Higgins is more crooked than the ref who cheated the Sacramento Kings out of the 2001 series against the Lakers.

Fox Sports agrees with ESPN and CBS Sports...

The only time Fox ever agrees with ESPN/CBS and he still argues:joy:

Good Lord people everyone knows calls are made in reflection of style of play. "Dar Dar har har but they play different" yea no sht.

The point is this is conference power 5 college basketball. It would be hard to see that TYPE of disparity in a game between Maysfield Baptist Church and the Golden State Warriors.

28-9, okay. 30-7, hard to see but still possible. 32-5, no. 35-2, fire someone.

You'd think people have seen enough to know enough.

It's just a matter of time until a lot of referees start getting implicated in betting scandals. College refs could pull crazy **** in the past with no repercussions, but with social media emerging and the refs getting more brazen trying to affect lines, it's going to explode at some point. Whether it's a 35-2 free throw discrepancy for an entire game, or, I don't know, a team's three best players going to the bench in foul trouble, enabling North Carolina to cover a first-half line in an NCAA tournament game.

How about those occasional 50-foul, non-stop free throw affairs? Think a ref might be involved with an Over bet someone made? Some people think it's ridiculous to think a referee is on the take, but I think it's ridiculous to think they're not. Tim Donaghy got away with it for years in the NBA.

Some of the stuff we're seeing now in the college game is getting out of hand, and it's going to continue until a ref gets nailed by the feds and starts singing.

KU fans on Twitter claiming the disparity was because WVU took nothing but 3s. Um... They only shot 4 more 3s than KU did and actually took 10 more 2 point shots than KU.

Right. And the Pistons got so many more free throws than the Lakers in 2004, because Shaq only took 3 pointers.

I’m so tired of the lies and intellectual dishonesty present in basketball analysis.

I’m trying not to laugh at that box score, but you have to. “Come on man, we can’t miss any of our two free throws....keep us in the game.”

Most of us remember 2016 when KU outshot us at the line 47-22 and went from 8 down to 4 up without making a FG. So hush it.

You have an excuse of why you come over after every game. Enjoy your fake banners, gifted conf. championships, and most of all, you early exit at the hands of a mid major.

During our game against WVU, Bilas did that 90 feet thing with Huggins. Bilas asked Huggins who his best friend in the coaching profession was...he said Coach Cal.

If you think last night was a coincidence, you're probably friends with John Higgins.

I never believe in conspiracy theories...but...game is at Kansas, Higgins lives in Kansas (right?), Huggins coached for a year (maybe two?) at Kansas State. Did Huggins honk somebody off big time in his short stay in The Sunflower State?

In the corporate world it is typically much easier to end the term of a contract employee than to terminate a FTE.

2015 when UK played Illinois State....
UK shot 46 freethrows
Illinois St. shot 10.

36>33.

and UK won by 12
Why do you have the word 'bluegrass' in your name? Shouldn't your screen name be something like KUfan1988?
You're putting a ton of effort into defending KU, so I believe you are a KU fan.
But comparing last nights Wva/KU game to UK v Illinois state in 2015 is some weak sauce. Illinois State couldn't hang with UK in any facet of the game and did what they had to do to stay competitive. West Virginia was kicking KU's *** last night. Big difference.

There are a few of them here and they are obvious AF. Pathetic.

I love the chokehawk fans bringing up games against nobodies as proof it happens to us. Huge disparities are almost always in game with a huge disparity in talent. Hence the need to foul. Not in games against teams on the same or similar level. Was Illinois State ever #2 in the country? Didn't think so.

KU won yesterday by 8 by shooting 33 more freethrows.
UK won by 12 by shooting 36 more freethrows.

UK started the first 17 minutes or so of the 2nd half (comeback time) against WVU with a 14-1 FT disparity. Maybe it's not game fixing, or a glitch in the Matrix, but instead just WVU being terrible at getting to the hoop in big moments. Like when they have a lead over a good opponent.

I expect more from even KU fans than this. 35 to 2 is completely ridiculous for an entire game against a legit conference foe. Can't you guys understand that or are you as dense as the UNC fans who still claim they only offered easy classes?
