A losing SEC record, let that sink in.

Even the 12-13 team went 12-6. And go look at that roster, it’s not that good at all. This is by far the worst “team” under Cal.

2 NITs in 9 seasons.

How far back to you have to go to find 2 NIT seasons for UL, Duke, UNC, KU, etc...?

At least part of this is the fact the conference isn’t garbage for the first time in a decade.

Sadly, we are the kinda garbage part of the conference right now.

ESPN says we have a 97% chance of making the NCAAT. Your algorithm says otherwise?

I’m sure ESPN is taking into account of our record so far. Our fans are assuming we suck the rest of the way and what will happen.

If true, I’m sure ESPN will catch up as we pile up the losses

No. That's not how it works. We were projected to go 3-3 the rest of the way coming into the night, and even with that - 97%.

Do we need a NIT year for the sake of our future? If we make the tourney and somehow survive the first weekend, will anything change?

I've said it 1,000 times but Cal has to stop coaching like he's Dr Phil. He spends
way too much time trying to get in their heads and coaching in generalities and needs to just get back to down and dirty coaching fundamental coaching. Teaching skills, roles, basic sets. Start game coaching true to win the game of chess against th other bench in taking advantage of matchups and dictating tempo, using your our strengths (length) etc

He knows how to do it he's just fell into a habit of having a lot of talent that he can just coach their heads to get them to lay together and win games. But the group is not talented enough to get by on that and he has to coach them like they are less talented and need strategy and instruction .

Dude, if you were a fan of one of those schools, you would ***** just as much as you do on here about Cal. I think everyone gets it by now, you don't like Cal and think he's a bad coach. Fine, whatever, but move on.

Sunshine pumpers.
I've been called that many times over the years.

But ... 4 losses in a row, 17-9, 6-7, unranked, 5 games out of first place, etc., ... is kind of hard to believe at this point. Especially with the talent we have. And don't give me the "we're young" response. We're young every year. That's how Cal chooses to do it. We'll still make the NCAA tourney, so the Nancy's can stop with the NIT stuff, but we aren't going far, and next year doesn't look much more promising.

Young or not, we have McDonald’s All-Americans everywhere and a losing conference record, about to get worse. Amazing
Meh, there are 5 Stars, and then there are 5 STARS. I don't see any John Walls or Anthony Davises on this team. I do see a couple or 3 of Skal Labissierres

I mean I guess I miss all the good stuff on this board when we aren't doing well. ( Why I don't check these boards til after a couple days after a loss. Yup, same 'sunshine pumpers...nothing to see here

Maybe I was just being optimistic, but I never really worried about this team going to the NIT even during the 4-loss skid, and I'm usually pretty pessimistic, certainly not a "sunshine pumper". Don't get me wrong, it sucked, but I figured we'd put things together just enough to win enough games where making the tourney wasn't too big of a worry. Granted, at the time, I didn't think we were going very far at all in it unless we improved drastically.

I feel like the Noel season made a lot of people on here really paranoid. Seems like we have a vocal minority of fans on here crying "Oh my God! We're going to the NIT" every time we go on a slump and lose a couple of games in a row now.

The Murray/Ulis year, I remember after the loss to Auburn, (Who was pretty bad that year) someone making a post along the lines of "Who do we beat on the upcoming schedule if we can't beat Auburn? I don't see us winning another game this season."

Then there was the skid last season, where we were an Overtime away against Georgia at home from losing 3 in a row, only to get thumped by Florida on the road to lose 3 of our last 4, before the team finally got it together after that game and ended up as a #2 seed.
