Will next year really be any better than this year? Let’s say that Knox, Diallo, and Alexander all go pro, you will be replacing them with Johnson, Herro, and Quickley. I just don’t see how we will be much better.

Could be worse and it sucks to think about it while duke is starting 5 lottery picks. Makes me sick to see Kentucky falling off like this.

You hope the freshman will improve next year, but watching Wenyen and Jones this year doesn’t give you much hope.

If that’s all we lose, I’d be ecstatic. That’s one of the more optimistic scenarios IMO. Wouldn’t be heavy title favorites but I’d say top 5 most of the year.

Speculate anything you wish but NOBODY knows what next year will bring. Just way too early to even think about next year.

Dumb.

You jackasses quitting on next year before you've even seen the final roster are terrible. I couldn't imagine being disappointed in something that a) I have no control over b) does't begin for another 9 months.
Who is quitting on team? Just simply making an observation based on what players could be leaving and what recruits we have coming in.

Best case scenario.. We get Green, Washington, Vanderbilt Richards, Gabriel, SKJ and Baker back along with Herro, Johnson and Quickley. We'll likely add 2 more players this spring. Also, there is a possibility Alexander comes back.. Probably 20% best but a slim chance..

Then there's the worst case scenario .. Meh.. I think I'll stay positive.. lol

BTW.. If we get the above roster, we will beat Duke in November..

I'm merely speculating because we'll have scholarships available.. I'm sure there's posters that really follow recruiting that know who could reclassify or still be available.

No....you have no idea who K will bring back. He wants a 40-0 team. I look for Duvall and Carter to come back...the will be untouchable they will have 20 point capable scorers at every position

Quickley will spell SGA, Herro/baker a huge improvement at 2g. Don't know but Johnson might be near the equal of Knox. Nick returns much improved.

Team better.

When have we ever had a guy return much improved? Hasnt happened since T Jones in 12. And if Johnson is the equal of Knox then we have a problem.

We're missing a true PG to run an offense. Quickly can do that. We need a 2G who can shoot and get buckets. Herro and Baker can do that. We need a SF who is tough. Keldon Johnson is the toughest recruit in next year's class. Loves contact and finished through it. I'm excited especially if 2-3 guys return.

Agree with all this except for the part about missing a PG to run the offense.

I absolutely love Shai but I think he would be better off the ball and not have to deal with running the team. I honestly still haven't figured out why Green isn't able to be a playmaker. That's what he was known for and the reason he was rated so high out of high school.

Cal can’t win with fans like you. UK is on the verge of returning some very talented players that can improve greatly. Fans were complaining that we had too many one and dones and not enough experienced players. Now people are saying we don’t have enough one and dones. Cal’s in a lose lose situation. If you don’t think players like Green, Richards and Washington can’t improve, then you are mistaken big time. UK would be pre-season #1 if all they lose is Knox , diallo and SGA. I also don’t think Cal is done with this class and he has three super talented players already signed to go along with Baker who will be basically a freshman. Relax and enjoy the ride.

The ball sticks with Quade. He has to dominate the ball. Just a bad fit with what Cal wants to do. Ironically it is sticking with Shai too but not because he needs it to.

Quade also has defensive issues that cut his PT. I'll be surprised if he doesn't at least split half of next year with Quickley especially by conference play.

Next year will be worse. A mass exodus happens every year, we will lose Diallo, Knox, Alexander, Green, Richards, and I would think Gabriel, SKJ, and Washington transfers.

This year sub .500 in SEC and NIT, next year sub .500 overall and no post season

There have been times this year when this team looks really really good. There have been times when they play together, play unselfish, limit turnovers etc.

I still believe deep down there is a chance that they figure things out in the next 3 or 4 weeks. When they are playing good they are a top 10 team.

This guy is a troll, but for those who are agreeing with him, just stop. A mass exodus is possible, but since Cal has been at UK, the only time we have mass exodus is when we lose 5 or less games, are pretty dominant, and are a top 2 seed in the tournament. All other years we average losing about 2 players a year. Not to mention, we had a pretty mass exodus last year, and we have yet to have a mass exodus 2 years in a row. There is also the fact that no freshman has left UK to go pro after their freshman year and not be drafted in the first round. Based on history, the 3 that the OP mentioned leaving is the only 3 that fit, and when compared to the historical data since Cal has been here, only 2-3 are gonna leave, meaning that it is more likely 2-3 of the Knox, Diallo and SGA are going to leave, while everyone else returns.
