The fact that anyone would call into a radio show to report their displeasure over seeing a 19 year old eating pizza and laughing...

Actually, that sounds like exactly the type of lunatic that is attracted to the Matt Jones show.

We have more morons on here than anywhere posting stupid stuff like that daily. What does Matt Jones have to do with it?

I think that Gabriel had a beer and a shot of something. Although he wasn't laughing there was a pretty big smile on his face

I heard that call also. the guy said he was enroute back to knoxville trying to beat any bad weather. i doubt he saw any players walking the street eating pizza so soon after the game.

Must of been a UT fan headed back to Knoxville.

Is he supposed to be depressed and hiding in a corner? You aren’t supposed to hold onto a loss or a win after you leave the gym. It’s basketball not life and some FANatics seem to either forget that or they never understood it to begin with.

Walking up the street, eating pizza laughing it up like it was nothing.

Exactly. Some fans truly have issues they need to get help with. Recruits look at this and think “good lord I wonder how far so and so fan base will take it if we lose a game and I’m not reacting the way they want me too”

This reminds me of that movie Fever Pitch

Where they are in the restaurant and the Red Sox players coming in and they are all laughing it up and the die hard Sox fans are going nuts about it lol

He's a kid. This is just a game.

Breaking news

I saw a UK fan laughing with his family after the game last night, there is no way he is a true fan or cares

Yep it’s a dumb as it sounds. Same way it’s dumb for fans to be upset about Kevin moving on from the game after it ended

Still a cats fan till the end, and i still will never count cal out of a late run but this season has Been quite a disappointment. Just to young. To young withOUT an elite player or 2. Throw Bamba or Ayton along with young on this team and we’ve lost 2 total probably.

**** happens. I’m DEFINITELY not ready to fire Cal yet. Anyone who honestly thinks that is the best thing to do right now is out of their damn minds.
I came to that realization after the game last night. IOW s if you can’t recruit at least two of the top five to lead the team a bunch of talented freshman simply can’t overcome all of the advantages of team chemistry , growth, experience, practice time etc. of teams doing it the traditional way.
While a few on this team will go pro simply because of potential only Gilgeous-Alexander should.
Get ready for a sweet sixteen finish this year.

Why should SGA?

He lacks so many NBA requirements. Very good college player, I dont see pro talent yet.

Knox will get a good payday and should go (although I wouldnt draft him in the first, he has the most potential and will be taken)

Sweet 16 is probably the ceiling for this group.

I'm not a fan of this player's game, but my goodness, this is just stupid. How many of you go around pissed off and enjoying food. You can't. Besides, there is nothing he can do about it after the game that night. So, what you do is, you forget about it until you have to think about it the next time when watching game tape. Such silliness sometimes. Compartmentalize.

We can dissect this team all we want. Losing that game last night just told me that we aren’t doing much this year. I love Cal, but this whole situation is on him. We’re getting out recruited by Duke, and they’ve got a 4 year dude starting that would have been a first round draft pick after his Sophomore season. Grayson Allen will probably be a second rounder now. Our whole team left last year to go play in the NBA, or play professionally somewhere.

If we can’t sell the top recruits to be the next in line for our NBA farm system, we’ve gotta just change the whole damn system all together. You cannot and you will not win with a team full of Freshman when not a single damn one of them is elite.

I trust Cal to fix this. But he ain’t fixing it this year.

Agreed for the most part. I believe he’s attempting to change: adapt however. Based on the recruits from this team along with who we have coming in next year.
We will see I suppose.

The stupidest fanbase in all of college basketball...
:joy:

Dick size contest at 1am about who's favorite sport is the best during a thread about Matt Jones' callers and Knox eating pizza after a loss?

Tune in next loss when Hami is out shopping at at bed bath and beyond while we're arguing about who's dad can whoop who's dad.

It's what we do, and why we are the best. Oh, and why we are the worst. We are the best and the worst. Our passion gets the best of us. Some of that passion is sent online into raftards right after a loss. I've tried to stop posting during or right after games. I'm not in the right state of mind to make a fully rational post.

I know people will laugh at this later and straw man it to death, but just say MKG was losing like this and saw Knox grubbin on pizza, laughing, and enjoying himself........

Fight? Depends on how Knox responds, but MKG would definitely have a problem. Dude really hated losing.
MKG has been losing since he got to the NBA and I don’t think he has had any fights with any of his teammates .

Just because a guy is laughing with friends hours after a game doesn’t mean he doesn’t care.

When is it okay for a player to move on after a loss ??

Typically my coaches would say tomorrow forget about it and move on. But there needs to be reflection time. As a coach I would tell my players to soak it out in a tub and think about what they want. Wake up tomorrow and make it happen.

Not go out and have fun eating pizza and don't worry about why you suck.

Again, it's not about anything other than that. Where is your head?

But it's whatever. We don't even know if it's true.

MKG cannot control the NBA.

Players have to have short memories.

Like a closer in baseball giving up a game winning home run.

Ok. It sucks. It happened tho. The last thing you want is that closer going back out the next day thinking about what previously happened.

As fans it's different. It could affect us for a bit longer. The best thing Knox could do is forget about it and move on.

Football is pussified. Not an intimidating sport at all, played that too.

When a ball is flying at your chin around 90 mph, come talk to me.

Man..dude must have had some strong hips to put his ball's on your chin at that speed..

I've been hit with 90+ in college. I was also hit in the face (eye) with a line drive in high school while pitching. Had to have reconstructive surgery above my eye, it nearly caused me to not be able to play. For a year after it I couldn't get in defensive position while pitching because when I'd hear the ding of the bat, I'd flinch up. And that's really dangerous.

Maybe if I would have had protective football gear on at the time It wouldn't have happened.

I have to admit I never wanted to play much baseball after my first time getting hit..

This is the kind of stuff that Capel prints out and hands mom, dad and Billy 5 star and we just keep feeding it to him.

I guess Coach K's scolding of his ENTIRE team after their loss to a horrible St. Johns team went over really good with "mom, dad and Billy 5 star". [eyeroll]

Bamba would make this team almost unbeatable...... nobody can take it in the lane on him. Huge miss. Oh well. Even funnier, I used to laugh at him for shooting 3's but the truth is, he'd be one of our better 3 point shooters. Yikes.

Correct!! We could go from 5 McDonald's all americans each year to none and join the elites like Minnesota, Maryland, PennSt. Indiana and others who are also-rans each season. Is this what a lot of you want? I would much rather compete among the elites, the Dukes, UNC**s, MSU, KU and others that are there each year. Who cares if we have to adjust to a new roster every year? It takes me 2 games then I have all the numbers memorized and know who is who.
