Losing Daniel. Williams may go pro. Two best players right there.
I’m a big fan of Williams but he isn’t going pro after this year. Daniel is like Vols sixth man and playing great but hard to say he’s our second best player. Knox is only for sure player going pro in this game.

Who knows what to expect from this team. I think if we lose tonight it’s very unlikely we go to the NCAAT. Why? Because we’d have 7 left, 4 on the road. I think we need 22 wins to make it. If we lose tonight where will those 5 wins come from? We’d have to win all 3 remaining home games including ‘Bama, and 2 of the remaining 4 road games. I’m not sure we can do that especially if we lose tonight to UT in Rupp. Win it though and we’re still alive! So huge game from my perspective. Will it be for the team. I sure hope so!

Kentucky will be in tourney whether they win tonight or not. They will do enough to make tourney and be top 9 seed. That’s not up to UK standards but they have done enough and will win enough going forward to be in the dance.

One of the biggest regular season games in the cal era. Must win.

We need to speed up the tempo tonight. We need to get more fast break opportunities off of rebounds and steals. You know UT is going to try to turn it into a grinder like they usually do. We need to make it a more full court game. We have the better athletes. We need to play to our advantages.

Williams likely doesn’t play in the nba, although he does remind me of former Cat Chuck Hayes (one of my favorite non UT players ever). At 6’5 he’s not going to play PF in the league or at least won’t after his sophomore season.

Don’t like this game at all. UT is playing with incredible heart and effort, especially on defense. UK is still a group of individuals trying to figure out how to play as a team.

It would not surprise me if UT wins this handily as this group of Cats loses focus and poise for extended periods of time and refuses to listen to coaching, according to Calipari.

I really hope I am dead wrong and that they come out with a purpose and sense of urgency. They still have growing to do as a team, so anything can happen. GBB!

Not sure I see a UT win tonight at Rupp. We were handling them in Knoxville quite well until PJ got cramped up. We ended up losing that game, but were no means outclassed at their house. We play with a bit more vigor tonight and win by 6-8 points.

Good point. UK football beating UT in football has been like a solar eclipse(they happen about as often). UT basketball has won 3 in a row in Knoxville now have a chance to sweep in bball. Then baseball UT has been terrible and UK has been better, give you that one. Softball- not even close, women's bball not even close all in favor of Vols. So at least you have an argument...maybe. Call it what you will, but this bball team is the real deal, but it is hard to win on the road in the SEC. uK has a chance in this one with the Rupparees at home.
UT basketball isn’t in the same solar system as UK. Neither is your baseball. UT is better than UK in football but what exactly is that saying? UT is irrelevant on the national scene in football and will be from now on.

I agree, a loss Tuesday then UK is staring a 4 game losing streak in the face. At that point we will be playing just to get a bid.

Ole Miss appears to be the only win I see but I think UK gets 3 more wins. 21-10 is bubble and at that point we are at the mercy of the committee. UK has strong computer numbers, a strong non conference performance, and a strong SOS. So 21 wins may be enough, but can they get to 21?
UK will win tonight. Finally a 7pm game. I was at the Miss St game and everyone was dead, crowd, cheerleaders, fans. I can see us winning by 10+. Tennessee is good but they aren’t the Warriors.

I’m not sure if I would go that far, but if we happen to lose tonight, the NIT will start to enter my mind.

I don’t think we’re going to lose tonight though.

It’s very possible we lose tonight.

I don’t expect it tho. I think they bounce back after that Missouri game

I am hoping the revenge factor is alive and well tonight. This is our first rematch opportunity in which we lost the prior game.

I hope our A-game shows up. It's pretty darn good, but it will almost be essential if we are to have a chance.

I would think so also, coming home off a loss, playing a natural rival.Just about any UK team you can think of would be expected to win this one and they would expect it of themselves. Considering our overall play during the last month there is little other than the above stated conditions that point to a win. One half of basketball at WVa is all we can hang our hat on as a positive for this bunch

They are playing for their season, and probably NCAAT lives in this one,I wonder if they know, understand or care about that being the case. How important is it to them? It is not that they are bad kids or anything of the sort just how mature are they and how well can they process the situation

Color me shocked that the original poster started this thread. He or she waits in the shadows until we lose, then comes to tell us how badly we are going to lose again. Lol

Why haven’t the mods banned this person yet?
Why do you want people banned all the time? Can't you take the pressure or criticism? Vols by 8...late.

I think UK shoots better tonight and mans up. We got more size and if we play hard nosed (big if) we win by double digits

This Tennessee team matchs up well with UK. For the Vols it’s point guard by committee, and so far when a shooter is off his replacement usually isn’t. Don’t think Vols can expect all this backcourt synergy to continue in Lexington. Kentucky will be ready and I think it comes down to who gets the timely offensive rebounds.

Going to say Vols win 58-55. Should be a battle.

Just a slug fest. Vols had no answer for Kentucky’s dribble drives. We don’t get many of these. I’m going to enjoy it. Also not too far off on the score

As long as those jersey's say Kentucky, My VOLS will have to play their best. Tennessee is young, determined, tough and well coached but talent wise, the matchup's are ridiculous in favor of the Cats. I think we can win it but Rupp is no joke and we have won 8-9 so a blip is quite possible. Will be a seeding game imho..GBO
Did not expect a win in the 60's. Thought sure if it was that low scoring KY would win the game at home..GBO

I tried telling people in the other thread that the Vols were the better team, and better coached, and thats why the spread was so thin.
Sure enough, Vols were the better team and better coached.

Well, UK had plenty of chances to win. Especially down the stretch. What I can’t understand is why we can’t take a 15-18 foot jump shot with our forwards! Washington and Knox had those ***** all night and just don’t take them. Weird. Watching Michigan Star right now and they take those shots and make them all game. Ugh.

freshmen, with lots of length but not much shooting. Cal needs to get some shooters on the outside.

Don't know how to handle a little success do ya? Better enjoy it cuz it's back to the NIT next year.
Yeah, losing that one player and possibly adding a 5star gaurd to replace him will surely set us back from being a 2,3,4 seed to nit.....

.....Williams is 6'5" and doesn't have an outside shot......keep dreaming. Daniel has been a good addition, but is litterally our 7th man.... and we will be getting 5star Simmons unless he goes straight to nba to replace him.....
