Is all this being tied in with the investigation at State? If so this could get really ugly for the SEC.

Off topic a little but...

The NCAA should really stop looking at the letter grade and more at the number grad for qualifying student athletes since every state has a different number for D's and C's.

I think that's just a coincidence. With South Panola's history of players not qualifying, we know she didn't change too many grades when she was there.

"Labor Relations met with Ms. Sykes this morning per my recommendation of an immediate suspension," White wrote at 10:18 a.m. on Aug. 9 to Mark Hicks of the NCAA. "Rather than be suspended, Ms. Sykes chose to resign. She continued to be silent regarding a rationale for the changes, and she still would not provide names of anyone else involved."

ALL IN !!!

This is the narrative offered by MCS in 101 pages of emails between system employees and the NCAA that were released to The Commercial Appeal Wednesday in response to an open records request for correspondence about the case, which centers around former Wooddale and Auburn University running back Jovon Robinson. One of the area's top football recruits last year, Robinson was ruled ineligible by the NCAA on Aug. 17.

The situation was revealed on Aug. 10, when MCS acknowledged in a statement that a student-athlete's transcript at Wooddale High had been altered and that the employee who admitted to doing so had resigned. MCS said it was tipped three days earlier by the NCAA, which has interviewed or has plans to interview at least five individuals connected to the local prep football scene since the spring

NCAA investigation and interviews being conducted around Auburn signee Jovon Robinson reveals this. Not Auburn and its compliance office. They watched the grades of the kid, they saw the transcripts, just as every school does. It sounds like he went from being unqualified to being qualified and nobody questioned a thing. I wonder if a reporter in Alabama has done a FOIA on Auburn on this? Oh wait, never mind, they are ALL IN !!!!

I think it's more of our investigation sprung from this bigger picture. But that's just me.

I know Gene Chizik called and NCAA investigator out in front of all of the SEC head football coaches and basically told her to 17 off, and they skated on the whole Cam thing, so they must be doing something right.

I saw a post on an Auburn Board that was discussin our investigation. Most of the post were basically calling it Karma and bashing us for not buying good players, then one of their posters came in said you all better shut up because the Robinson thing was not settle.

Not good for Aubie.

This was an interesting listen. No new facts but.....

Click on the 8/30/12 link that says hour 2... Gary Parrish. Skip ahead to about the 25th minute.

I would like to know how the NCAA compels a telephone company to give up records. I don't think they have subpoena power???

Ole Miss was recruiting Jovon HARD at the time the grades were being changed by this Ole Miss grad. Add to that that Memphis is an Ole Miss town and I'm starting to wonder if they're the ones in for a huge problem. I think it's far more likely this woman changed the grades on request from Oxford than for AU's benefit. Perhaps AU was just the unwitting beneficiary on this one, at least while it lasted.

Let's not lose sight of the likelihood that Ole Miss was leading for this kid when the records were changed.

This place needs a purge

First, Robinson never even took an official visit to OM. Second, the article clearly says the grades were changed in May, 3 months after Robinson signed with Auburn.

While you're probably right about the date with regards to the grade change, thus disproving my theory, you are wrong about him not taking a visit to Ole Miss. He did in July of 2011 and was shown the entire campus by Nutt & Nix.

he never took an OFFICIAL VISIT to Ole Miss. Now I know Nutt was incredibly stupid, but to risk an NCAA violation on a player you can't even convince to come to campus for an official visit would really redefine the Mendoza line, even for him.

So what! I never labeled it an "official" visit.

You were replying to me with your jackass "purge" comment when you made the statement about visits. I had said Nutt was "recruiting him hard" and that Nutt & Nix had shown him the whole campus. That's straight from RebelGrove, July 2011.

Auburn has nothing to worry about.....

They have had some bumps along the way but over the years they have become pros at cheating. They have moved past the bumbling amateurish approach taken by our recently disassociated booster and our handling of the Cam situation. When Daddy asked us for 100K for Cam we were like a deer caught in the headlights. Cecil scarcely had to ask aub for the money. Without blinking an eye and slick as a whistle they had him his cash and all tracks covered, including the NCAA, before the ink was dry on cam's LOI. From that incident it is apparent those guys have a well organized system, know what they are doing and will be very, very difficult to ever catch them.
