Both teams coming off arguably their best games of the year, I wonder if this game will be interesting or a Cat blowout?

Losimg Fisher-Davis in a game like this may be too much to overcome, but it basically forces LaChance and Roberson to be leaders, which is potentially a net positive.

Riley is averaging 25 ppg over the past 3, and Roberson 20, so losing MFD could be a blessing in disguise.

Great win for UK last night so I know y'all will be jacked.

I'm very impressed with how well Vanderbilt has been playing since Davis went down. That win yesterday was huge for the SEC.
But I don't see how Vandy can keep it close Tuesday night. But that's why they play the game, anything can happen.

If we use the West Virginia win as a tool to take the next step up (and we should) then I think we will win fairly easily. We have the talent to do this and it’s time. If we revert back to a lackadaisical style of play it could be a close one. I still think Cats win.

I want to see Kentucky win big and Knox build on being Kentucky's go to guy the rest of the way. The dude is built to be a total nightmare for anyone to defend at the college basketball level. You can never really count Vandy out, but with the size and quickness Kentucky puts on the court, i hope it won't be close.

If this team is truly growing up they will jump on Vandy right from the outset and not take their foot off of their throats until they board their bus. Keep the intensity!

However a slow start followed by letting them hang around will only show us that they still haven't totally accepted the coaching given.

We need to show that we've taken that next step and that is done only by being dominant when facing a less talented team at home. Not by playing down to their level.

This is a great game for us to keep working on moving the ball around quickly as well as defending. I look for lots of man to man.

The thing is, I'm not sure Vanderbilt has much to say about the outcome of the game. Now, I think that it's usually a gross overstatement to say "it only matters how we play." But, I think Vanderbilt's offense is so limited that it may be true here.

Vanderbilt seems to have a total "3-point shot or die" offense. It appears so simple to defend. Severely over-play the 3-point shot - I mean literally give them driving lanes all day if you must, just don't let them get off anything but a desperation throw from behind the 3-point line - and I'm not sure Vanderbilt knows how to respond. Sounds crazy to say that about a Div. I team, but that's the way it looks to me. They seem to literally panic and fall into mass confusion when the 3-point shot isn't there.

Of course, UK still has to score itself. But if UK simply does a good job of instituting the same defensive scheme from the first game - which is what I thought I saw from UK in Nashville and was attempting to describe above - doesn't put Vanderbilt on the free throw line a super excessive amount, and shoots just a decent fg%; then I don't think it much matters what Vanderbilt does. (Of course, in full disclosure, I've been wrong before.).

We should win by 20 or so. But if we come in still thinking about the WVU victory we could only win by 5-7 pts. But we should win by 20 and if we played great 30 . IMO I think we take a half to fully invest in the game and are up only 38 -32 to at half but end up winning 81-64 . Knox drops 23 and 6 , Alexander goes for 18 and 7 dimes and Gabriel has a good game with 14 and 12 .

Not expecting a blowout, although it would be nice. Hoping we don't have a letdown after a very emotional, hard fought, come from behind win where we played a really tough opponent

I think UK learned something from the game against WV. They learned by playing together as a team they can beat anybody. And you can bet Cal will drive that point home. If they play like they did in the 2nd half we will be Vandy by double digits.

I think the big question is whether or not either team will have a let down or have some momentum carry over from these big wins. I would say that UK has a better chance to carry over momentum coming home from a big road game. Whereas Vandy was at home and is having to go on the road. Losing Fisher Davis may actually show up in this particular game, especially given UK's size throughout the lineup.

But you never know. Both teams played well last time out. I feel pretty good playing in Rupp. I just don't think these Cats will lose another home game this season.

This! Really tough to come back and play well after a game like that. It's tough for veteran teams, much less freshman. Then again, it can work the opposite on such young teams as well. So, we'll just have to wait and see if we have that letdown or we build upon that win and keep playing well

Since the SEC season began Kentucky's Defense has been good in the 8 games. Kentucky in 8 games on defense is holding the SEC Opponent to 40% FG shooting and giving up only 23% from 3. Since SEC Play Kentucky has allowed 45/200 from 3 point for only 23% from 3. This is great defensive effort in 3 point shooting and they have been rebounding well too. The problem in the SEC in the 3 defeats has been way too many stupid turnovers that leads to easy layups and shots. Kentucky in there 3 SEC losses had 50 turnovers in the 3 games averaging 16 a game. This has been Kentucky's biggest problem is the amount of turnovers in 3-4 minute stretches that allows teams to make runs that eventually spells defeat for the Wildcats. In the Florida game we are up 28-20 with 3 minutes left in the half and in 10 minutes of play between the remaining of 1st half and the 1st timeout in the 2nd half was a 25-9 run that gave Florida a 45-37 with 15 minutes left in 2nd half. During the 10 minute stretch UK had 8-9 turnovers during that time leading to the 25-9 run which Kentucky was leading 28-20 to Florida leading 45-37 in that 10 minute stretch. In the South Carolina game we had a 57-43 led with 10 minutes to play in the game and we had 7-8 turnovers and shot 3-8 from the FT line leading to the South Carolina 33-11 finishing the game with a win. In these 3 games the turnovers and missing Free Throws down the stretch has been Kentucky's biggest problems. We play like we did in the 2nd half vs. WVU and have only 5 turnovers and go 18-18 Free Throws and play the 'D' we have been playing then we will win our 10 remaining SEC games.

Looking forward to seeing if we now will keep the turn-overs down and get more shots off on offense. Defensively, will we keep the opposing guards in front of us? Hard to predict the final margin if Vandy hits 3's but that doesn't bother me if they do. No team wins by 3's alone. I want to see us continue to move the ball without turn-overs and everything else will fall into place.

I was surprised in watching the Vandy/TCU game in how disinterested Vandy was in playing hard on defense. It seemed that they would play to stay in front of the opponent but if he got to the rim, they were not going to challenge it. That will keep them out of foul trouble against UK but may get them scored on if UK is driving. Vandy has good offense (seems similar to what was done under Stallings - might be driven more by the experienced players left over from the Stallings teams). They will score but can they stop Kentucky?

They mentioned it right before he made the key FTs against TCU. Not sure, but seems like they said he hasn't missed since the UK meltdown.
Could be wrong but he is at least back to his usual form.

Not expecting it to matter this next time.

This UK team has a hard time blowing out anybody who doesn't suck (Tards). Should win by 6 to 8.

Maybe a little of both? On the other hand, maybe it rings some truth and hits a little too close to home.

I think Vanderbilt has to develop a more diversified offense scheme if it is ever going to be a serious team. I know part of that is Vanderbilt is limited by its personnel, but I feel like they also kind of put themselves in that position.

I pull for Vanderbilt and all the SEC teams to be good. Any fan of basketball should. I hated to hear about Shittu's knee injury because he is the type of player Vanderbilt desperately needs. Vanderbilt has to find more of these guys. Or, in the alternative, I guess they can just keep firing up 3s, and hope nobody figures that out.
