Had someone ask me a question today I don't know the answer. Could the NCAA put a post season ban on UL basketball this March

Probably not. Can't add more penalties for Katina issue. Don't have time to finish up Bowen issue. Maybe if Louisville refused to remove banner NCAA could hit them with a ban but still it's such a short time until postseason and NCAA is so slow doing anything.

The NCAA answers to no one. They can do whatever they like.

I've wondered this myself. Frankly I don't see how any of these schools caught up in this Addidas/FBI mess WOULD be allowed to participate in the post season. I mean, people have been arrested for Pete's sake. I've suspected the NCAA has decided to remain mum until the end of the regular season, so as not to destroy fan interest, then put out a big announcement delivering several post season bans. Could be wrong of course.

There is due process built into the NCAA violations enforcement process. The NCAA hasn't even opened an investigation of UofL on the Bowen matter as far as we know, let alone charge them with any violations. So the answer to the original question is a NO.

I know it takes time for things to run their course but my question is should any team that has an assistant coach arrested due to an FBI probe into college basketball recruiting be allowed to play in the NCAA tournament?

That's my thought, and suppose that team winds up winning the championship. Does the NCAA want to deal with the embarrassment of vacating it? I wouldn't think so.
