I was in the moment. Pissed off. Realize now that we struggle most years in January.
No, you and those like you are part of the problem. If I didn't like UK so much I wish Cal would leave so you and folks like you could get their wish and watch UK return back to the days of BCG or Tubby and have to deal with that. Recruits like Sheray Thomas and Mark Coury. Anyone and I repeat ANYONE who goes on twitter and attacks Cal is no fan of UK, but they are mentally challenged to say the least.

On Twitter. Some of the comments are just awful directed at cal. Gonna run him off if we ain't careful and slide back into the tubby/Billy G years.
Cal will leave when he is ready and I don't think the fan base will have anything to do with it. No one works harder at what he does than Cal. We aren't playing well but there is still time and we haven't had our full roster all year! I do think fans might be adversely affecting recruiting but I have confidence Cal will overcome that. People want Cal to have more players stay more than one year, well it appears that this might be that year, so they should be happy!

I wasn't the one attacking him on Twitter. Cal brought us back from irrelevance in one year.

Because he did it practically every year ?

Tubby had 5 in ten years. Cal has 3 plus likely this year. He also has 2, 9 loss seasons. Depending on who leaves sure Looks like Cal will have 5 in 10 years also. He has more final fours but also missed the tournament once. Tubby made at least the second round every year, all ten. Cal has had the best team 3 times at UK, Tubby had the best team 3 times. Cal has more final fours and they’ve both won the SEC 5 times although the SEC was WAY better when Tubby was coach. Cal is a great coach, Tubby was a great coach. A large percentage of the fan base gave one of them hell. One of them, it does not. Cal has had more success but it’s much closer than you guys make it out to be. Tubby was an elite coach at UK.

You quoted my post and responded? I replied. How the hell is that bait? If you didn’t want to talk about it, why respond? No need to reply, I already know the answer.

So the people hating on Calipari are just plain stupid and nobody can help that. Name another eight year period That UK has been to four final fours and won a national championship under the same coach.

We went to three final fours in pitino's 8 seasons & won a national championship. Never thought I'd never see another.

Please some of you please please please get some help!

The program was absolutely in disarray and not on the national radar at least 5-7 years before he got here.

He brought the Cats back to prominence in 1 year. So yeah... she’s got a point.

The last 5 years of Tubby was not disarray. Typical hyperbolic bashing of him.

Another poster said Tubby sucked at recruiting. Again not accurate but typical.

Tubby was an above average recruiter but clearly not an outstanding one. He signed some great players and some very average players. It sort of went in cycles with him.

People like to forget that if he hadn't left when he did his next team would have had Meeks, PPat, and Draymond Green among others.

He had to go because he lost the fan base.

"So this is my yearly reminder that we are people with lives. That are proud of our family and love them, even when they don’t win every game. Also, let’s take a moment to remember where things were before we got here."
Who is the 'we' referred to? Thought we were talking about Coach Cal.

I don't have a problem with it.

It's just family being protective of their dad.

If these so called fans can dish it out, there's no reason why they can't get it back.

I mean don't we do that on this board all the time. Someone makes a dumb *** comment and they get blasted for it.

It's not any different than from his daughters blasting someone.

Honestly what they said I don't even think constitutes blasting lol

People will take this the wrong way, and I assure you I’m not on twitter saying things. But that rubs me the wrong way she keeps talking about “how it was before we got here”. She acts like he has caused all our success. How about 7 titles before Cal. Cal is a great coach and appropriate for this job, but he is not this program. This program was the gold standard before he was here and will continue to be after he leaves.

All that being said, people are overreacting over last night. I was one of them after I left Rupp.

Exactly. Like UK is fish bait before Cal..give me a break. It rubbed me wrong too

Because you guys are wrong.

Out side of the second half of the 90’s what has UK done?

Since the sixties we have a few final fours and one title that’s what Kentucky has done sans 96-98. The 40’s don’t carry much weight nowadays.

It’s not as much about the school anymore it is absolutely about the coach.

A recruiting class of Sheray, Woo, and Thomas brought to you by KENTUCKY.

LOL, Cal brought this program back in one season.

The previous 5 years should show you how today’s kids feel about Kentucky. They don’t give 2 *****.

It’s past time for some of you to get with the current landscape of college basketball.

Cal leaves, the guy who extended Tubby, hired Joker and BCG will once again be in charge.

I don’t see any obvious Calipari’s out there pining for the job.

I’m not bashing and feel free to research my posts but I was Tubby supporter to the end. Included in my time frame was BCGs 2 years. There was a definite decline since a good run in 2003. So before you stereotype someone it would be best knowing what you are talking about.

"take **** too personal and whine too much." hmmmmm irony
Irony...you posting this is the irony. You whine and cry because people dont agree with ur opinion...like Cals daughters. Instead of accepting it and moving on u resort to cowardly name calling and barb throwing like u just did here.

Cal coached the Nets so, I'm going to assume he's had some experience with nasty fans (and media). However, I think it is perfectly OK for fans to offer criticism without making it personal. No need to cross that line.
If we are all honest, we knew we wouldn't be a favorite to win anything this season. Too many new faces with no experience. Personally, I was expecting 9 regular season losses. But, I think we will probably miss that mark now. It's looking a lot more like 10-11. Call it a rebuilding or transition year but, next season MUST be better.

I've heard a lot of people say Cal is the ultimate competitor. If that is the case then he will make the necessary changes to get his recruiting game back on top again. If not then, he's probably going to retire when Brad graduates. But, that was a legit possibility all along.

If Barnhart is allowed to make another basketball hire that might just do it for me. People are a blind moron of They actually want him part of hiring discussions.

I can't believe there are people in this thread saying Cal is close to Tubby. Joe B maybe (as of now), but Tubby? Absolute f'n bullsht. Man some of these fans are rewriting history.

Oh and this is nothing uncommon for Cals daughters. They are Italian and hot headed always have been. Those girls are bulldogs. Same way in Memphis at young ages.

If y'all go after Cal, you'll go through them first. Should They? Probably not. You can kick my dad in his nuts for 7+ million per year and he's 70. I wont do anything.

If you can't take the facts don't read this but Tubby's last couple of years and all of BG's years we became very irrelevant in college basketball, I know the truth hurts but Cal is very responsible for bringing us back.

I like Cal for one, but all fans complains when his team loses and at Ky if you lose at home well they really complain, but a coach cannot be thin skin, that just goes with the job..

It was much harder on Tubby when he lost 10 games, I wonder why?
Man! When did I black out? We’ve lost 10 games? Can we compare Tubby and Cal’s records please? While I was blacked out, I have forgotten how many seasons we’ve had 10 losses with Cal.

Don’t encourage him. He’s a Louisville fan. That’s all you need to know about him. I also think he’s a former mistress of Tubby’s.

Yes and whose to say had we hired someone else they may have 3 more titles by now. He is not UK basketball. Rupp was and forever will be. He has the same amount of titles that Tubby and Rick won. Do I want him gone no....just “tweak” his philosophy
Hired someone else...like who? Who was available that would have been better? If you are going into fantasy land, why just 3 titles, why not 5 more or 7 More?

Social media might be the downfall of our society.
Astonishes me that nearly every news article I see online is becoming a couple of sentences by a "writer", followed by copy/paste of 10-20 "tweets". So investigative or informative journalism is now simply a mouth-breathing idiot sitting behind a tablet/smartphone jotting down the ****** opinions of a bunch of random people on social media?

If you wore the blue and white you represented Kentucky the best that you could in a history dating back 115 years.

Some years weren't as fun and exciting as others. Some were below Kentucky's historical standards.

Tubby helped us to 5 SEC regular season titles, 5 SEC Tourney titles, and a national title. He brought us the likes of Prince, Bogans, and Hayes to name a few. Wildcats that gave it their all every game. Two of them in the Top 5-6 in all-time scoring. I'd never trade those guys, the moments they provided, or their dedication and loyalty to the program.

BCG brought us the likes of Darius Miller and Josh Harrellson to name a couple. Miller of course being instrumental in the 2012 national title run. BCG's short lived tenure set the stage for Coach Cal and the incredible runs that he's brought over the last 9 years.

Without Cal we may not have a 2012 banner. We may never see the likes of Wall, Cousins, Davis, Towns, Ulis.....you get the picture.

I guess my point is, it aggravates me to hear people speak negatively about the years leading up to Coach Cal's arrival like they were wasted years. They weren't. Just like the current, those wearing the blue and white 5 years ago, 20 years ago, 50 years ago, 115 years ago, did so doing their best to represent the university and make the supporters proud.
