This is from another thread but I honestly want to know if the UK fan base would like UC every year on the schedule.

Currently we have UNC and UL as our main rivals. Duke we rarely play and they will collapse once Coach K retires. Indiana has been garbage for two decades. UL will be garbage for the next 5 years due to their situation.

Why not give UC a chance? Its been overdue and yes I know the history between the two teams.

UC has been irrelevant since Huggins. We don’t care about them.
I don’t feel like looking it up, but haven’t we beaten them the last 10 times we’ve played them?

A rivalry IMO consists of both teams being able to beat the other on a routine basis. Kentucky's rivals are the blue bloods of college basketball. UK will beat Mick Cronin's *** like a drum just like they did in '15. Don't want to give Cincinnati any reason to think they are relevant as a result of playing Kentucky.

Weve played the 7 times since the 40s. We got no room or reason to play them unless it's the tournament, which I bet we will be bracketed with them this year

Dude, no. It would be an ok game to schedule but there's a huge line in front of them I'd rather play.

Kentucky has nothing to gain by playing Cinci, and cincinatti has everything to gain. Why?

I'd rather smash Indiana yearly again than play cincinatti.

Btw, might want to call them cincinatti so people know who they are

I think I'm in the minority here, but I kinda like to see it. At least a couple home/homes.

I was at that God awful game in 1983 when we beat them in Cincinnati 11-8. Yes you read it right 11-8. That was in basketball not baseball, or football, or hockey. That ******* UC coach Tony Yates just held the ball the whole game. Joe Hall said afterwards that "we will NEVER play them again during the regular season". And we never have.

It was actually 24-11. It was 11-7 at the half. Maybe you dozed off at the half. :D

I see no reason to add Cincy (if that is who UC is). Duke, WKU, WVU, IU again, Purdue, Ohio St, UVa, all make more sense for different reasons.

And I still haven’t forgiven them for that game in 83-84.

The game in 83 was reason enough to not play them again even though Pitino actually beat them at their place in 1990. And all you have to do is watch how their games against Xavier are. It’s almost a literal brawl every year and would be probably be the same with UK.

How in the world do people think college basketball is bad today when back then you could hold the ball for an entire game and win by less than a typical baseball score?

Cincinatti's thugs (Cronin included) would be more concerned with the amount of players they could put out for the year than the actual score at the end.

I’d rather play Purdue and gain some recruiting ground in Indiana again..

Why not Indiana?? Because I’d rather play a good program

We would dominate that series even more than than the UL series. So I see no reason to play them .

Pleasantly surprised by the vote outcome. Maybe as a NKY resident I would like to see it more than others.

I will admit I am a Bengals and Reds fan so it would of been nice to see UK playing a local team in my area.

Anyways I will counter for those that say we dominate them it is a small sample size. Not sure using games from the 1940's count. Oh well BBN has spoken :)

We would gain nothing. But we would be directly responsible for making UC relevant just by playing them. That's all it takes and, IMO, UC has not earned that.

Also for those who want to schedule someone rather than UC please name the school.

My list would be.
1. UCONN
2. Villanova
3. UC
4. Arizona
5. Wichita Stage

I'm not counting Duke or Mich St. who we usually play every few years in the tournaments.

If we were interested in playing a Cincinnati area school, my preference would be Xavier.

UCONN is on your list? Are you suffering early onset dementia?

It doesn't bring anything to UK most years. Win and your supposed to. Lose and.......

Well, you could say that for every single school in the country except for maybe 1 or 2 that are close to our equal.

I would like to have an annual game with Arizona off of your list. I would also like rather schedule annual games against the following over Cincinnati.

1. IU
2. WKU
3. OSU
4. Texas
5. EKU

I only include WKU and EKU because it would help in-state schools.
