Definitely tightened up, and seemed very tired.
I'll give them credit for this--- not many teams in the country would be in a position to choke away a late lead against Duke. Florida looked impressive in all theee games this weekend.

Refs had nothing to do with it, quit making our fanbase look ignorant. Yes, the one horrible no call near the end was big, but the refs didn't turn the ball over twice in last 1:30, or miss free throws. Blame White for slowing game down the last 4 mins, and ending the game with 2 timeouts in his pocket. Free throw attempts was even, Fla missed 4, 16-20, 2 near the end, game over

You clearly get it. The refs didn't cause he turnovers or the missed free throws. Duke shot 95% from the Ft line and that was the difference. Live by the 3, you die by the 3.

Actually, Florida didn't die by the three. They lost because of a missed front-end, two turnovers and missing 4 of 5 shots in the final 4 minutes.

They were still up 10. What happened is they started going one on one and stopping their ball movement. Game over because Bagely is the difference maker. If we had someone of his caliber we wouldn’t lose. He’s a badass.

Florida is one dimensional. They're like Pitino's first teams at UK. When they're hot they look unstoppable. The key to beating Florida is to keep scoring when they are hot and wait for them to go cold because they will. Florida is going to kill teams that can't score. But if you can score you might trail for a while but you will eventually over take them. Just don't panic while Florida is hot. Duke was able to do that.

So keep scoring when they are hot . . . and then keep scoring again and overtake them when they are cold.
So score the whole game? That does sound like a winning plan! ;)

I'm sorry to be a wise-***. I kinda understand your point, which is to keep pace with Florida. The problem is, few teams will be able to that. And far fewer will have the talent Duke does to overcome that kind of deficit.
Florida is really good. The real key to beating them is try to slow the game. . . have long offensive possessions and make them guard for nearly the entire clock. Do this with any type of efficiency, and it really hurts Florida's tempo-dictated offense. New Hampshire did exactly that and florida on the ropes.

That's basically what I'm saying. You will fall behind but you have to stay in sight. You can't get down by 25 points. Just thread water with a 10 point or so deficit and you'll be fine. That's what Duke did. They got down by as much as 15 but they made enough shots to keep it at that margin. Then when Florida went cold they took the game over. The strategy for Florida is that you just can't panic and start playing Florida's game just because they rush out to a lead. You also can't play Virginia basketball and think you can hold them under 50.

Don't blame it on Florida. The refs made sure Bagley and Carter had a free path to the bucket down the stretch.
I did think the one call--or rather a no call on Bagley was a charge and turned the flow the other way. That call was typical of late game Duke's way calls. Then Fla turned the ball over 4 times in the last 6 minutes w/o a shot. The refs helped shoot themselves in the foot..

Officiating was pretty decent for the most part. Last 5 minutes Florida just played not to lose. They were slowing it down and Bagley went beast mode for which they had no answer. Dukes won lots of games where they got a way more than favorable whistle, but this was not one of them in my opinion. I still hope they lose every time they play.

At least they played the game.

I'm not happy with UK skipping this. This is one of the reasons big recruits come to UK, to play against the best teams on the biggest stage.
