If you did your homework you would know that Portland St is one of the foulingest teams in the country. Also everyone complains that Duke gets all the calls but every Big 12 team says the same of Kansas, every SEC team says the same of you. If you’re good you get favored by the refs, it’s like the built in excuse for every fan base
Kentucky's foul ratio in the last several games:
20-18
20-16
19-20
15-20
18-17
20-18

Six of those games were at home, the 15-20 game was Kansas. Duke gets the whistle. Kentucky doesn't even get it at home. Duke players, coaches, and fans would not be able to handle an even whistle, not that they'll ever get that.

That was shameful. Good god.

Cue the resident Duke apologists to tell us why that free throw and foul disparity makes sense

You would think Eades would stop calling bogus double technicals. You guys are worth a suspension.
Haha even in 2006 in the article you posted Duke shot 43 FT and FSU 11 in an overtime victory. But the duke fans will deny and make excuses, obviously FSU was the foulingeat team that year......

And 37 attempts to 13 in other game mentioned versus Boston College!

BC game was 37-13 I think.

So 80-24.

The big phony in Durham or his players couldn't handle a game called straight up. They would all be acting like Allen.
I have more respect for UNC. They blatantly cheated, but they at least play the games like men. They don't flop and whine the whole game like spoiled children.
The punks duke has had gets over looked even more than their coach's constant whining on the sidelines

4 games is a nice sample size to prove your theory. Last year they were 272 , year before 148, year before 132. Where as UK was 167 last year, 261 year before and 81 year before. Duke was 119 last year, 28 year before and 23 year before. So tell me again how UK gets the same favorable whistle Duke does??? I like to use facts to prove my points. If you actually watched the game today and felt it was called evenly both ways then you have your Blue Devil tinted shades in. Duke is a good team but it was blatant the refs came to the rescue especially in that 2nd half!

The numbers I posted are division one rankings for least fouls called per game.

You realize Duke has out fouled their opponent twice already this season in 6 games, both of them against small schools. And against MSU the ratio was 20-21. If you didn’t watch the game today you probably shouldn’t make comments, last I looked elbows, taking swings, shoving, and tackling are all fouls.

Yes, Duke out fouled Elon by 4 and Utah Valley by 1, and had 1 less than MSU, but they still shot 16 more free throws than their opponents. Also, for the season they have shot 149 free throws to 74 by their opponents. Btw, the number of fouls doesn't really tell the whole story, as it's how the fouls are called in the context of the game that matters the most. Like other posters have said, the refs can always even it up after the game is well in hand.

Dude we watched the game. The only semi legit reason that Duke probably committed fewer fouls is they played zone. But not that many more. you guys don't understand that k playing primary zone cause this team can't defend man to man will **** y'all in the tourney. I saw a Duke team today that a medium NC st would have smoked Duke.

It’s still a small sample size but through 6 games Appalachian State has the most free throws attempted this season, are the refs favoring them? Teams like Duke, UK, Kansas etc are always going to shoot more free throws than their opponents, because they win. When teams are winning towards the end of the game they get to the line more. Also this Duke team is very athletic and can penetrate, in the beginning of the season refs always call hand checks. Duke has averaged 24.8 free throws per game, UK has averaged 21 per game, that’s not a huge difference. That Portland State team was trying to throw Duke around, refs don’t allow that in college basketball (or the nba anymore). Those kids took some shots and got called for it, that North kid lost his mind for no reason and screwed his team over with 2 unnecessary fouls and a T to get thrown out of the game in a competitive game.

Because every call is not blatant homerism, no call is. Got it.

Duke will win it all this year. You can't beat K, Bagley and the refs for 40 minutes!! :sunglasses::sunglasses::sunglasses:

I'm a basketball fan who is a die hard UK fan. From the comments I read, it wouldn't hurt some of our fans to watch some basketball & learn. Our fanbase is pretty ignorance rich!
When I watch Duke flop, trip, and whine it makes me dislike basketball. Maybe you should learn why people don’t like watching Duke before you call a bunch of people you know nothing about ignorant.

That action itself is actually, by definition, ignorant. And hypocritical.

I always love the rationalizations from Duke and KU fans. They always cherry pick stats too. Anybody that watches UK games and Duke games and claim we get anywhere close to the whistle they get, is blind, lying or insane.

I never talk about the refs but this is almost hard to watch, 24 fouls to 8. Very lopsided whistle. Portland state would be up 6-10 easily with a fair whistle.

The worst part, where are the other coaches? How come no one is calling this out?
