Care to elaborate?want to be the best then prove it. Not proving it. Get it going boy.
Time to turn the computer off.Don't lose to a rival three years in a row. Don't lose to a rival 2 of 3 (ucla). Pull it together or start playing more EKUs earl on. Going to turn into Izzo.

Cal just took a team of almost all freshman head to head with a legit top five team and had a chance to win late in the game. .... in November.want to be the best then prove it. Not proving it. Get it going boy.
Look, we play 8 or 9 straight now that we should win handily. Playing a game like this is a good measuring stick and test to see just where you stack up and what you need to focus on fixing to compete and win in that type of game. Now if we followed this game with 2 or 3 other top 25 teams then I might complain, but nothing at all wrong with throwing them into the fire line that right out of the chute to see where they stack up.Don't lose to a rival three years in a row. Your solution is to play teams that aren't good so we won't lose? Maybe Cal should volunteer for the NIT too. I'd hate to lose to a rival in the Sweet 16.Don't lose to a rival three years in a row. I am proud of their effort. If you are not, then by all means, grab your favorite uniform and cheer for another team.
I can't figure out whats wrong with what he's saying. Kentucky is getting beat right now, UNC is catching up, Duke is catching up, Kansas is beating our arses, some other rivals like UCLA have won a few in a row?
I get that down swings happen, but why any UK fan would be totally cool with this is beyond me. Sound like our football only fans.
THIS. Since the beginning of 2016, we are 0-3 vs. Kansas..1-2 vs. UCLA (Thank God we beat them in last year's Sweet 16), 0-1 vs. IU, 1-1 vs. UNCheat, (Higgins screwed us pretty good but still..L is a L), 1-1 vs. Loserville, and 1-0 vs. Duke...that's 4-8 vs. other blue bloods and rivals in just the last 2+ seasons. I don't care what anyone says, Coach Cal lost something when we lost in the Final 4 to Wisconsin. He's not been the same since. That loss was major. A lot more impacting than people here want to admit.
So.....fire Cal?
Boy, I'm ready for the BCG years again. Name one coach as good at recruiting and winning that isn't at a major program that would leave to come here right now that would produce the success that Cal has. We beat Kansas in 2012 for the Championship. Self has lucked out a couple of times since then and beat us. We beat UNC last year (once and should've got them again) We beat Duke a couple of years ago. We would've beat Duke in 2015 had we not got screwed out of a title game. College basketball is changing (both in parity, recruiting, and officiating).
I don't like losing to KU either, but, until we have a couple of guys stay when they shouldn't leave (Hump, Briscoe, etc.) we're going to have some experience get us from time to time. Tonight, our lack of experience got us. And if losing to KU means we can pull out No. 9? I'll write that check tonight to cash it.
Stop lowering the bar for Calipari by throwing in Billy Gillispie out of nowhere. They do not compare, and BCG is not the measuring stick for this program.
I am looking at Cals legacy, which effects UK's legacy. I don't care about Tubby Smith, Gillipsie, or Sutton. I want Cal to put his name with the greats, and right now, he's about to be 4 years from Joe B Hall status instead of being anywhere near the men he should be. I want Cal to have that kind of legacy.
You can't do it losing to every blue blood you come across and having too young and sub par basketball teams.
Some of us just want Cal to roll, I don't want to accept anything else.
So again.....fire Cal? And replace him with who? And obtain the same level of success?
I'll agree that Cal has a
Fair enough. But if he doesn't, it doesn't mean he didn't achieve jack diddly.
No one said BCG is the measuring stick, it's just rock bottom. And it happened. It also happened because folks ran Tubby out of town. Tubby wasn't a great coach, but, he was far from horrible. Granted that worked out in the end and we got Cal, but, what if we didn't? If we get tired of Cal, where do we go?
I want Cal to be up there as well. But, crap happens. He runs an honorable program and wins games. See, this is why I wish that Wisconsin game never happened...because if it didn't Cal has 2 titles in 9 years and no one could complain.
Just not sure what can be done about fixing the issue. I think we handle UCLA this year so that's 2-2. We handle UofL 2-1. Duke or UNC, we will have to wait and see. Kansas? I think if we get another crack at them we take that game.
I'm not saying that going 0-3 to KU is fun or acceptable, its just....what do we do about it? All we can do is put trust in Cal to develop players and do his best to win games.

You raise hell, because that's all ya got. At least for a few minutes. Mother Kentucky deserves to be defended.
If you don't understand why Tubby was "ran off" (he actually quit and left the players without a word), then I'm not sure we should be talking about anyone actually caring too much about the state of the program. I mean if you accept Tubby results then I have no doubts tonight didn't effect you much. That's fine, we're just different.
Btw. I've said more than a few timers, I think Cal is the type to win 3/4, but 2 is acceptable and places him on the level that's respective to his skills. Anything less is a bit of failure.

I'll say this. Tubby was a decent, mediocre coach. My only point is we groaned about how bad we had it, and then got BCG. And boy, how BAD we had it. I don't ever want to see that again.
I'm happy with Cal's level of success with the program as it stands. I would like a few more wins against the blooda, sure. But minus the Nerlens injury and that cold shooting NCAA 2016-2016 performance- we've done well in the post season (even when we shouldn't have.)
I'm bummed about tonight...but I'm not panicking. Not yet. If we struggle against UCLA or VT...then I might start to worry about the state of the season. If we hoist 9 by years end? I don't care who we lost to at that point. Now, if we have another early exit or fail to make the Final Four then maybe I grumble and worry about Cal.
This. You and I seem to see things similarly on both Stoops and Cal. We don't want them fired by any means...but we have some valid, fact-based criticisms which somehow make us crazy in the eyes of the worshippers.
Could we really find a replacement for either one who we'd be 100% sure would do better? Absolutely not. But neither one is perfect.
Sure, Cal has a young team. But isn't Coach K beating Cal at his own game, at this point? Especially if (God forbid) he gets another title this year?
We would all feel so differently if Cal hadn't choked away the best season of all time in 2015. But he did. So here we are. He's great, but he isn't perfect, and he's lagging behind other blue-bloods.
I hear ya, but I'm not worried about Cal "winning" and that's something that I think people miss.
Calipari is not performing to potential right now, I truly believe he should end his career near Knight/Williams. I'd hate it, for decades, if Cal stayed on a stubborn path that benefited countless players and held him from the legendary coach he is, and that UK needs him to be. This guy is a goat, not a good one. I just have high expectations for Cal. Maybe I'm too high on him.
So sometimes I'm worried about that and not as much about the topic at hand necessarily.
