Excellent question. Thomas More was a very prominent Catholic official in King Henry VIII’s advisory circle during the Katherine of Aragon vs Anne Boleyn saga. Unfortunately for him, he strongly opposed the annulment desired by King Henry and also was on the wrong side of the Reformation, if you are Protestant. By the way, this year marks the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s posting of the 95 points of conflict with the church on the door of the Catholic Church in Wittenberg, Germany.
