to try to protest the corruption of the NCAA? Surely BBN can come up with some ideas that have merit and might actually be effective?

I’m beyond sickened by the NCAA’s failure to strongly penalize UNCheat. Their inconsistent (and corrupt/unfair) approach to sanctions and penalties MUST end.

Surely there are things that could get the message across? Would boycotting of a couple of their biggest sponsors be effective? We couldn’t boycott all of them effectively - but maybe we could boycott the top 3 to 5? Send letters to the companies to let them know they are the targets of boycott for now? Is that doable or possible? We’d have to get other schools to join in of course. Is that doable?

How about a Facebook page where all of this could be on public display for others to join?

Other ideas? I’m not smart enough to know what might stand a chance of being effective, but surely someone in BBN can come up with a great idea or two?

Evil prevails when good men do nothing. That’s a quote I recall - not sure who said it. But the NCAA as it exists now is pure evil. Surely something can be done!!

Rant over....

Someone start a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to hire Dan Kane as a private investigative reporter. Let him look into the corruption and mismanagement going on in the ncaa and it's enforcement arms. Let him find out what kind of money is given, under the table, to Mark Emmert and his band of buffoons.

If there is some sort of protest (which I'd be all for), the good news is it will grow as several will join in without even knowing why they are protesting. Seems pretty common these days

I really like the GoFundMe idea. Does anyone know how to set that up?

I would suggest that if you protest don't leave finger prints that u are UK fans . Wear another schools colors or state that u support another school.

The folks running the NCAA have made it clear they are petty, play favorites and vindictive . No sense giving them reason to further hate us.

Why MB and Capiluto as well as hundreds of other presidents and AD s support this corrupt organization is a mystery to me . Hopefully they don't and are working behind the scenes to bring it down.

What should happen is that the four Power 5 conferences except the ACC should form their own organization. The ACC is so corrupt and in bed with ESPN and John Skipper it should not be invited.

That would change college sports for the better and bankrupt Emmert and the other crooks in the NCAA.

I wish this could begin to take shape and the sooner the better.A collective group of member institutions should tell the NCAA in on uncertain terms that they are tired of the lack of consistency in rulings and the selective enforcement.

It is too late to undo what the NCAA has done for years. This latest example of the NCAA devastating and making a mockery of the foundation of college basketball should be the final straw. It is time for action by the members.

You can stop giving money to the NCAA and their sponsors. Write the sponsors and tell them why you will no longer buy their consumables .

These rich people don't care about us... they are Harvey Weinstein'ing us. They are having their way and if any of us speak out... they'll use their power to make lives more miserable. Either a lot of schools have to come forward (like how many women it took to come forward for Weinstein). Or it's going to take the regular fans of the sport to hit them massively in the pocket book. Otherwise we won't matter enough for them to even think about changing things

The NCAA is the collection of all the schools it represents. If a majority of schools wanted to make a change, it could happen a lot faster than the pretend UNCheat investigation took.

It will have to include the ACC or the fail is probably baked into the cake.
They represent too many of the programs and more importantly too high a percentage of the population in numbers that places high value in basketball, particularly when you consider the Big 10 power schools (and their fans and boosters) are the types that will likely lean pro NCAA.

What is so puzzling about the NCAA is the fact that UK Basketball is the main supporter of college basketball, yet UNC and Duke are coddled.

WHY?!!!

#BBN fills more arenas, spends more money and buys more apparel than ANY other fan base. It's like the NCAA takes UK and it's MASSIVE support for granted and has for decades.

WHY?!!!

The ACC should lead the charge, they suffer the most from the UNC/Duke relationship with the NCAA

It's as if the NCAA was too incompetent to figure out what to do about the UNC scandal, so they finally just decided to take the
"ignore the problem and maybe it will go away" approach.
I like that definition of NCAA.

Nonsense, the wealthy do care about us it is just about in a fashion about making damn sure they extract every bit of value while exerting maximum domination and control to maintain and build on their gilded age level gobble up of the whole pie.

Now why significant percentages and arguably a super majority of their prey cheer this dynamic on, I cannot guess other than perhaps an aspirational form of stupidity where they think they are temporarily out of place predators or the weapons grade form of stupidity that even after decades of evidence that believes it is all fixing to trickle down any moment save some powerless scapegoat(s) got some scrap or might.

It certainly worked for UNC, as it was widely known that the NCAA put off the result of their investigation because of a fund-raising campaign at UNC (Guess you could call it an investigation).

Makes you question now where the funds went??????? :sunglasses:

The best thing we could do, is win a championship. Forget getting caught up in the corruption. Just win. Thats all that you can really ask for. Is the effort by the team to do their best.

What if we just ignore anything the NCAA does. All the wins Cal had taken away, what if we just ignore that. Rehang any banner that’s been taken down. What are they going to do?
And btw how could they say Rose was ineligible after this? If the college accepted his application then why’s it matter how he got there? From an NCAA standpoint.

Remain quiet. Theres mortar fire over our heads and the defunct NCAA is lobbing by request of he big old money in the game keeping them safe from any violations.
Ky is getting top recruit classes and annihilating their league.
The best scenario is sit freshman if they cannot open the way for HS kids t go pro. I dont think Ky fans would desire that in the way Cal keeps this advntage giving them a chance

Take the high road is the play here. Tobacco Road and the ACC is poised for a shake-up.
The damage to UNC is that Ol' Roy doesn't want to work hard enough to stay relevant in recruiting. They are a program set for a significant drop-off. Coach K can't work with One-and-Dones and this will push him into retirement soon enough.
Stay the course, Cal and we'll have the last laugh.

Can a union form of the schools and or players that represent the schools vs NCAA, kind of like the nflpa? Or could a real petition be started for congress to investigate NCAA?

Tried that last year and got severely cheated. They handed the title to the most corrupt program in the country.

About the only way to hit the NCAA hard would be for everyone to not watch the NCAA Tournament. They make billions off of the TV deal for it. By not watching you hit the TV station and it's advertisers hard and that should filter down to the NCAA losing a bunch of money the next time the TV contract is up for negotiations.

Of course it wouldn't happen because it is the best sporting event on TV (at least in the US). Even non fans of college basketball get into it because of the brackets. Unless we have a very down year that we likely weren't going to make the tournament, I just don't think I could not watch. The last time I had zero interest in it was the 2013 season.

You want to make an impact? Don't watch the NCAA tournament, their biggest money making scheme. That would send a message.

Could you? I could miss the tournament for one year if it meant the NCAA would disband, but we know people will keep watching and the NCAA will keep smiling as the billions pour in.

It's your choice.
