My only thought was if Pitino had got a longer suspension some might decommit or transfer but as it sits, they knew what had gone on and it didn't bother them or their guardians. More power to them, hope they enjoy getting beat down by Cal and the boys!

It sucks they didn't get a postseason ban. That is what would have made some recruits leave.

I'm really starting to believe the banner is coming down because they didn't hammer them going forward that badly. They are going to hammer them for 2010-2014.

Definitely had at least an additional year of post-season ban coming, more like two. Should have lost two more schollies. Coach should have been suspended for 1/2 of ACC season, and home opener.

I'll take the vacated championship and final four anyday over them losing Bowen, King, and Williams (only ones that would matter if they left) anyday but I doubt the recruits were told they expect to have four seasons of basketball vacated. It could make a couple players rethink playing at that dump. If you were 18, would you want go to a place your friends all know is notorious for having ugly *** hookers around? I wouldn't.

Bowen is probably the only freshman talented enough to actually want to steal from the card's recruiting class. No offense to the kid, but I think we have the better players already at the position he plays in college. I don't know if this would bother the kid's plans of playing at UL next season. He wasn't around during those years and UL won't be kept from playing in the NCAA tourney next season. This kid wants to play somewhere for his freshman season and enter the NBA draft. None of what happened with these rulings changes any of that. It will be interesting to see if this kid doesn't start from day 1 and doesn't log major minutes early on. The kid can score the basketball, but I'm not convinced he plays the type of defense he better learn in a hurry to get on the court for Rick. The kid isn't known for playing all out on defense. If a coach can get it out of him, it might just be Rick. Bowen is the type of scorer UL was lacking before signing. UL fans better hope the kid wants to play at UL next season. Without his offense, might not be able to put up enough points to be one of the best teams in the country.

Seriously, their commits already knew UL got caught with whores in the dorms. They aren't getting any post-season bans. There is zero reason anyone who already committed would not decommit.

"Zero reason anyone would not Decommit...?"

And you never know. I don't think "everyone " expected UL to have 4 years probation, and have hundreds of games and titles and FF banners vacated... and being the laughing stock of the nstion ya know ?

Does it upset you or something ? The thought of a UL recruit decommiting ?

Thanks for catching my typo, should have said "now" decommit.

Probation's nothing and vacated wins are in the past. They were already a laughing stock when they got caught with two bit whores in their dorms. I tend to pump the brakes on all manner of silliness I see around here, whether it's "we're doomed, we have no chance of going anywhere in the tournament this year!" or "Briscoe is gonna be a first rounder!" I'm just a realist.

Why would any parent of any player allow their child to go to this " mess " ?
No matter the short term outcome ; I would never approve of my precious child to go somewhere that this happened .

Right now? No. When U of L steps in and fires Pitino against Teflon Tommy's wishes? Yep

People will still send their kids to schools like U of L. If the Duke Lacrosse incident didn't prevent kids from throwing away their American rights to attend Duke, then a prostitute scandal won't dissuade kids from throwing away their bodies at hoes to go to school.

Pretty sure the Duke lacrosse thing was totally made up by that girl for money/attention.

No real punishment for Cards going forward. Ricky has to sit a couple of games and lose a couple of scholarships over a 4 year period. These penalties have no effect on Louisville to put together a team. Really they suffered nothing that would scare teams from doing these acts in the future. Lot of teams would do anything to hang a banner even they knew it was only temporary.

I'm not on the up and up with all this.. but there has to be a very real chance Pitino isn't coaching at Louisville in November. This is big stuff in the sports world. Trying to think of the last big college basketball story that didn't involve someone winning the title and what not.. Can't think of anything..

Mike and Mike talked about it for my entire 30 minute commute.

I don't think it's a sure thing he remains head coach, and if he does get fired/steps down.. recruits will bolt.

Calipari deciding to coach at Kentucky might be the last BIG story in college basketball.. ? I'm trying to think of scandals, hires, big changes to the game.

Answer : A parent who would participate along with his
son, would do such a thing. There are some
would do anything legal or illegal to benefit
themselves with visions on big money
ahead . It's just that some schools attract
more of these than others. Why?????

The only way a kid would de-commit would be if UL fired Rick. Any other school would fire Pitino given his very public sex scandal plus the latest stripper/***** misadventure. Unfortunately, UL has no morals or self-respect and won't get rid of him.

Yeah thats the one thing Cardinal fans should be happy about. Other than losing 1 scholarship a year for 4 years and Rick having to go on vacation during a couple of ACC games theres no reason any of this should have an impact on Louisville going forward.

Their fans are clearly fine and dandy with the public perception of being the stripper school, and any recruit who's already committed knows that history.

Exactly. But Duke expelled the accused Lacrosse players before they ever had a day in court. Duke assumed its own students were guilty until proven innocent.

I would never promote such a school to my child because that is an extremely anti-American action to take.
