Touch CM Newton.

Kroger Field at Commonwealth Stadium or simply Kroger Commonwealth Stadium will suffice.

C.M. Newton Grounds? I guess when C.M. Newton dies (he's still alive, right?) his spirit will go to war with those malevolent, tortured souls whose bodies were desecrated when the stadium was built and have cursed the Grounds in retribution for so many generations. The outcome of this spiritual battle will determine whether the football program will remain cursed or if the spirit of C.M. Newton will cleanse the land.

And for that reason, when it comes to C.M. Newton Grounds, I'm fer it.

Kroger about 5 years too late, 10 for 10 deals on tickets would have been great during the Joker era.

What are you trying to do here? I was minding my own business at first, but Christ! That is insane.

Is that for the pad and everything or are you importing some IPE type material to make this thing?

How much any of you want to bet we get some half assed defensive apology from Milque Toast at the press conference about not being aware enough to include Commonwealth Stadium with the new name?

WELL, YOU KNOW. THERE ARE PIECES TO THIS PROCESS. WHEN WE SAT DOWN WITH THE RESPECTIVE PARTIES WE WANTED TO HONOR OUR COMMITMENT TO JMI. WHEN CHANGES TAKE PLACE IT'S VERY CHALLENGING TO SURVEY THE LANDSCAPE TO TAKE INVENTORY FROM FROM THE FANS ON ITEMS THEY MAY BE SENSITIVE TO, INCLUDING THE NAME, COMMONWEALTH STADIUM. JMI IS A GREAT WORKING PARTNER. THEY ARE. MAYBE WE COULD HAVE ASKED JMI TO INCLUDE COMMONWEALTH STADIUM IN THE NAMING RIGHTS BUT THEN AGAIN, THE LANDSCAPE OF THESE THINGS ARE COMPLEX AND I DON'T HAVE ANY TESTICLES.

When did richie go from unabashed, all-in Barnhart supporter- to his current state of mind... what did I miss in the last year or so?

Kroger Field. SMH. Welp boys that's it for me. Last straw. John f*cking Vincent can't win a title with all that NBA talent. Only cares about draft night. He's taking f*cking none and dones now for christ sake. Still allowing UK Hoops coach to make 7 figures. Seat backs. Checkerboards. Meetch screwed our bracket. Probably sabotaged us with Higgins as well. Stoops got lucky with a **** schedule and Automatiginnis saved his *** and he's waxing students. ST coach wears his hat backward. Tailgate trailers. Totally disconnected from the fans. Block K. I Zack. Baseball school now anyway.

Timing really is everything. I mean, it's about as ideal of a moment in UK football history as possible to slip this in with where the program is. It absolutely blows my mind to think of how critical the 2nd half of last season really was and the few isolated plays that made it happen, and how F'n livid everyone was right before that South Carolina game.

I doubt I call it anything other than Commonwealth Stadium, but it doesn't really bother me that much. It's simply the reality of today's world where if there's money to be made, or value to be unlocked, with few exceptions it's going to happen.

Is it really, though? CM is a pretty integral figure in SEC history, not just UK's.

And "embarrassing" is a MF of a relative term when it comes to Kentucky football...

Newton's name has been associated with the football field for almost 20 years. That's probably something we need to get beyond, if its still upsetting.

I'll still probably always refer to it as Commonwealth, as I assume a lot of people will. Not as some kind of protest- just habit. Football season ended better than we imagined last year, the stadium upgrades are sharp, practice facility is dope, recruiting going as good as we could hope... Lot of good stuff going on there. Probably need to save some outrage for on-field let downs

CM Newton contributed zilch to UK football during his tenure as our AD. The program held a overall record of 46-78 including 24-62 in the SEC during his oversight with both coaches he hired losing their jobs.

For those counting that is 30+ games under .500 and damn near 40+ games under .500 in the conference

And we name the GD field after him.

At least Kroger uses a similar color, there would have been an unfortunate amount of red had it been Toyota. No offense Willy.

Just saying that I dont really think when they named the field after Newton in like 2001, that particular decision has caused much detriment. If anything, most people didnt even realize it. Its not like people referred to as Newton Field. Just as casual observers wont going forward... it literally has as minimal impact as any decision the athletic department will make.

Doesn't matter what they call it, ill never once call it Kroger Field, too many years of saying Commonwealth. Just like it doesn't matter if they ever added something on to Rupp Arena, it will always be called Rupp by moi.

Except it was a dumb *** decision which gullible Kentucky fans bought hook, line and sinker as a good idea.

I'd rather have kept the Commonwealth name than the CM Newton name.

Hell, it's been there 20 years and he was honored for spearheading the stadium improvements. Which stadium improvements have now been subsumed in the more recent stadium improvements.

CMNF had a good run, but why not let it go.

This doesn't really upset me because it will always be Commonwealth to me - BUT THIS IS A CONTINUING PATTERN TO MINIMIZE UK's APPARENT "OWNERSHIP" OF THIS STATE.

See also extinction of block K in favor of UK. Hell, why not just call ourselfs the University of Lexington? U of Limestone & Rose? ULFUCG?

WHY DOES MITCH WANT TO DISSOCIATE OURSELFS FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY?

None taken. I deal with issues like this every day.

We would've just used a black or chrome Toyota in whatever official nameplate/logo we would've come up with.

They are trying to charge me for sq footage as if it were a deck instead of a pergola.

I have a nice stone patio. I want the pergola to cover it.

Basically, 28x14' plus a 4x14' portion where the walkout is next to the house and a 6x14' rounded addition to match the patio. Will probably only need 4 posts. 6 at the most.

Cedar or redwood would be ideal.
