Any word on Vanderbilt?

There has been no announcement. It is no news, which means exactly nothing either way. No point in worrying over unsupported speculation. But let's take the worst case scenario. Hypothetically, what if Vanderbilt broke a bone in his foot in March? That would give it about 8 months to heal before our opening games in November. He might not be in optimal physical condition for practices in October, but he wouldn't be the first player who missed part of the offseason workouts.
The other thread has all the information on his untimely demise God rest his soul.
Not to worry even if he is in a coma for the entire season he will have someone with his POA declare for the draft(and be a late first round pick)
No Worries ! He won't play this coming year anyway, so we can hide him until draft day. Welcome #2 None and Done.
I hate to be one of the alarmists not taking it in stride, but it's definitely bad news. After next Saturday, he'll have missed two all-star games he was invited to, and I agree that if it were minor, his camp would want to release that info as soon as possible. Susceptibility to major injury affects a player's draft stock.
...And, regrettably, Vanderbilt has been injury prone as regards his lower extremities. He missed quite a bit of play in high school due to injury. Hopefully, he recovers quickly and fully.
That's a lot of guessing, without any information to go on.
I read it this way. why play in these games he is already a cat so if he plays and he might get really hurt. why not skip these games and let it rest and heal march until Oct and be 100% that may have scared him to the point saying it is not worth it
All of this speculation is in the absence of information. Hypothetically, if Vanderbilt has an ankle sprain, skipping all star games would be necessary. But let's say, hypothetically, that he broke a bone in his foot in March, which would be the worst case scenario. In that case, he would have about 8 months to recover before Kentucky's opener in November. That's long enough. So I would caution against jumping to conclusions at this point.
Exactly, just because he doesn't play an all-star game means nothing. I mean why would he when he just got hurt in an all-star game! lol
Could be missing the all star games to get healthy so he can play for Cal on the U19 USA team this summer. Lot's of ways to spin stuff. Just depends on your outlook/agenda. Same way with the press on everything they report.
This kind of thing naturally brings out the bogeyman, with all sorts of worst case speculation. So let me join in! Thought it was noteworthy that the kid didn't sign his scholarship papers - until right after this injury happened, almost like he wanted to hurry up before the offer was rescinded in light of bad injury news. (Is all of that factually right? Who knows - we're speculating!)
I guess Knox is extremely inportant now with Vandy out for the year.

I did some research online and found out that diabeetus can cause foot issues that lead to amputation, I know his issue was in the foot area.
Vanderbilt commited after the Fall signing period and was at Allstar events when the spring signing period started. The week he signed was the first week he could have signed papers. Now it's a coincidence that it just so happened to be after his injury.
Not a rush I am not even sure he signed on the first day of the spring signing period
