Phenomenal so far. Love hearing Cal mic'd up in the locker room or before a Hall of Fame speech. Feels like that's the only time you actually get a small look at the actual person and not the brother's keeper, poop ice cream b.s. spokesman. Love seeing the early A-10 stuff and the late eighties coaching drama too.

I've kinda been down since the Elite 8. Was starting to think after these last few years maybe things were dulling for me a bit.

But watching the doc just has me hungry for next season already. It's not the title games. It's the midseason games like against A&M. That ****- watching those games, wilding out, over analyzing, constantly forecasting what it means for March- that's the stuff. That's why I love coldass winter.

GD, I love Kentucky basketball. And I love my coach. We'll never see another one like him.

Welp I jokingly said it after our draw and our loss to UNC this year, but Coach Cal flat out has the deck stacked against him and it just so happens we were guilty by association.

Good........F the NCAA! I'm with Cal and hope he lands fighters! The GD best at that.

When I saw this 30/30 previewed for the first time, I didn't really know how they would spin it. Then after the loss in the E8, I was worried about the timing of it all. Seemed like it could have been the perfect recipe for a haters field day.

But man, that did not suck. He came across like a boss man hero. Wow. Wooooowwwww!

Who broke his noes is the real story.

IIRC that was year that Dusty ruined both Wood and Prior, especially Prior. Man that guy could have been something special.
I loved Dusty at the time, for obvious reasons. But he rode those two to death and basically ended both their careers for the long term. Still pissed at him for that.

Use an ineligible player, strict liability, vacate wins, etc.

Yep. Seems pretty cut and dry to me folks. Meet up and head out to Chapel Hill and Louisville? See you in a few? Cool.

He should have been asked immediately why Duke's 1999 Runner Up banner is still hanging in Cameron. Absolutely no discernable difference between the two situations.

I honestly can't imagine wanting to play for anyone else at any other school. The guy is at the Portsmouth Invitational right now pushing Derek Willis on anyone who'll listen. Say whatever you want about John Calipari. There isn't a coach in America who cares about his kids more or is more intentional about developing a long term relationship with them and supporting them. It really does make you proud as a fan.

SEC Storied tonight about Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson as seniors at Arky in '64 winning the football championship together.

That's one helluva connection those two have dating back to that year.

I couldn't fathom walking the Easter Parade in it.
Late.....I grew up with HOFALLSECFS Anthony Wajda, in 8th grade he and I were invited to be in the Pegasus Parade as a wolf and a chipmunk respectively with full headgear etc next to a float. Sounded cool I guess.

Of course after a few min the novelty wore off. Hottest I've ever been in my life. As we progressed west on Broadway the crowd got *considerably* more agressive in both language and unwanted interaction....topped off with a teenage black kid shaking my hand and subsequently stealing my glove/paw and throwing it around with his friends like the ball in the crowd at Commonwealth (much to the horror of the little kids that believed I was a cheerful chipmunk).

To give them credit, it was pretty funny on their part but that was just about enough for one day.

SIDE NOTE: best Anthony Wajda nugget....Mumme chucking a Gatorade at his head in the locker room or Earnest Graham stepping on his face and sternum on the cover of SI?

Friday Randos:

- Life is good for UK SuperFan. I truly believe this is our best football squad since at least '07 and John F'ing Calipari has us contending every year. That dude isn't retiring without 1-2 more rings.

- There's this narrative that UK is the most talented team every year and we should just be cutting them down left and right, but that raw talent is mitigated by the fact we so rarely return NBA talent. It's not like we're piling #1 classes on top of each other. CBB talent is a sliding scale which includes raw talent and experience. Roy started 5 upperclassmen McD AAs last year. How TF does that happen in 2017? Everyone gets breaks- Bridges and Trier have made their teams Top 5 next year. We're on the build again. Still, we're going to be a monster by March again. F'm.

- Washington and Vanderbilt kinda give me a new age uber-talented Daniels-Hayes vibe. I just love versatile forwards who can clean the glass, lead the break and pass.

- UNC's luck is surpassed only by its shadiness. Those two Bell un-boxouts were every bit as boneheaded as Brown's pass and Webber's tech. I won't even mention the officiating...

- Let the Kansas hype start again lol. Parrish and Norlander are already hyping the **** out of them. Guess they forgot about two F4s in 15 years and getting bent over in the E8 a few weeks back.

- The most touching part of the 30for30 was Cal breaking down at the HOF in front of his dudes, and the genuine affection they have for the guy.

- Wish it would have been mentioned that Chaney and Cal are actually buddies now.

- Looking forward into getting back into the Reds this year. Young team but on the rise.

- Few could pull it off but props to Bonzo on the pink jacket. Good look. Can I get a damn Bonzo night this Spring/early Summer?

- Chilling tonight. Taking mom to brunch at Taste of Belgium tomorrow for her 62nd. Then Che' tomorrow night. No clue about the food (hear it's great) but that atmosphere may be the best in OTR. Love it.

-I can't imagine Cal coming off any better than he possibly could have after last night. Even the "bad" stuff wasn't anything new, and unless you already have a clear bias against the guy, you're not walking away from that thinking that he's any shadier than you did before.

-Last night was an epic reminder of just how good Lou Roe was. I remember falling in love with that guy's game during the three matchups against Kentucky. A lesser Mashburn, but an absolute dog.

-Thought Phil Martelli came off really, really well last night. Other than the flap a couple of years back over limiting his kid's transfer options, I've always liked that guy.

-Only time we've seen Cal cry was last night, right? Don't recall another time.

-One thing I wish they'd mentioned that STILL amazes me....the fact that Kyle Wiltjer left the program and Cal STILL treats him like a four-year Wildcat. Like the kid never left. Who else does that?

-Wish they'd featured Carmelo Travieso and Edgar Padilla. Favorite non-UK backcourt ever.

Michael Eaves had an outstanding Twitter feed last night after One & Not Done. He had a great point about how a flaw of the documentary was that there weren't enough critical dissenting opinions, however most of the people who have those critical dissenting opinions refused to be in the documentary.

What I'm basically saying is maaaaaaaaaaaaan, F Pat Forde.

Bonz looked sharp. Kudos.

On a fashion note and SAE was the first to point how stupid and ridiculous this trend is but can the FUN SOCKS movement cease and desist immediately? Good grief, Chaco. Nobody thinks you're Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtke socks are funny. Take those silly *** things off and burn them. You're a grown *** man for Pete's sake.

Rose not fouling Kansas up 3 because he was afraid to be called for a intentional shows this bias against Cal with the refs real or imagined seeps into the players. No ref should ever call one in that situation unless Rose flat out tackled the dude but given the history they may have.

How pissed was Cal after the A&M game last year? Man.

Cal treats Rose and Camby like sons to this day even though they both screwed him over pretty much says all you need to know about Cal the person.

Man, those UMASS teams were a load. Just a bunch of tough *** street fighters who killed you on the glass and played smash mouth half court D.

Forgot how close that Sweet 16 game was in 92. Do remember Cal getting t'd up.

...and guys like Raveling talking about how it devalues education. Wish they had mentioned the lifetime scholarship thing with our guys and kudos to the Thompson clip where he talked about how we inflate that whole concept when millions are at stake.

Baby Jordan's wiki doesn't say a ton about how much he values his degree.

Why is it always lost on some of these coaches that you can go back to school if you want and that once you go to the league, it isn't like you've abandoned school forever? I know it's that way for some guys, but folks have been going back for years. Mashburn came back and got his degree, Shaq got his, Vince Carter famously got his on the day of a game 7.

I guess that's impure.
