This is the Duke lineup I was referring to which is much better than what you listed for us:
Duval - Top 3 player and the best PG in the class without question.
Allen/Kennard
Gary Trent Jr 5*, #13 in nation
Bamba - Top defensive big in class
Carter - Very good big ranked the same as Bamba in the top 10
As of today:
Duval > Green
Kennard > Diallo (without playing yet many would most likely have a Sr. Allen, at the least, equal)
Trent > JV (would love to see JV do very well, Trent is a baller)
Carter > PJ
Bamba > Richards (by a long way)
Duke has no bench but if Jackson returns that would be big for them.
I don't really agree with the comparison. You are breaking it down a little too lightly and that looks like the most optimistic for Duke line-up and match up favorable to them. While worst for UK.
I get the worry that DUke *could* land all these guys.. but seriously.. what are the odds, especially when Bamba is still a UK lean and I'm hearing Knox to UNC?

The initial post stated that "IF" Duval and Bamba chose Duke they would have the best starting 5...
That said, I believe Bamba is going to UK and that Duval is 50-50 in terms of even qualifying (absolute joke that he could for Duke).

But what i was saying was in regards other things. Are we sure that Humphries and SKJ won't get better? Kennard would be 3 in that roster since he is the biggest of the guards. He would not match up well against Vanderbilt, and Diallo would be better than Trent.
I also think Green would be better fit now to run the team than Duval. While, Duval would be more fantastic and exciting to watch. I would assume he would defend better too. However, i would expect Green to have higher assist number and engagement of the team. Duval would have better career in NBA as well. But, there is something about running the team, and i think Green is better suited for that now.
Bamba would kill anyone on our team next year. So i don't disagree there.

I forgot about Trent. I don't agree about Kennard over Diallo. Carter is very good but he wants to be a wing. He doesn't want to bang down low with PJ/Richards/Gabriel/SKJ. I really think Richards is gonna surprise folks, but Bamba is really, really good.
I don't think it's as overwhelming in favor of duke as some. UK's bench is a definite advantage though.
Cal calling out Bilas was my favorite thing so far. Busted him bigtime on national TV. Suck it Jay. The usual suspects have had to eat their pens because they can't say anything about UK and Cal because their idol fell and fell to a lowly SEC team of all things. Must be infuriating for them. Carter is better than Richards/Gabriel/SKJ and PJ is only 6'7. Gabriel became useless and was a negative, SKJ couldn't even get in a game to even be a negative..
I hope Richards does surprise us.
I think the Duval/Bamba scenario is a large advantage as to starting 5, and yes, Duke has no bench assuming Jackson leaves.
I would love to see Bamba here and WG come around, and I liked SKJ's offense, hopefully it starts to click for him.
We are not sure exactly what we have yet in JV and PJ, but they both have great potential.

Diallo is the X factor IMO. If he has a consistent shot and can defend, UK has a guy that nobody else in college basketball will have. A bigger version of Monk. UK will have size down low and a legit rim protector with Richards who is a true 5. Don't think rebounding and straight line layups will be a problem next year. Gonna be interesting.
Washington and Vanderbilt will make the majority forget about Knox next season. We have the wings we need

Also, what good is comparing 3 Duke Shooting Guards to Diallo? Only 40 minutes to go around. Trent might not even be a factor is Kennard stays.

If Duke fans think Tatum was a black hole with the basketball, wait until they meet Carter and Trent, Jr. Carter is a 6-10" beast who thinks he is the next Magic Johnson - likes to roam the perimeter and chuck up threes too much right now. Trent never met a shot he didn't like. The team would actually probably be better off if Allen and Kennard do not come back if they get Knox.
Duke is hanging their entire hopes for next year however on landing Duval, because they know how desperately they need a PG, but talk about making a deal with the devil.
Duval is a superb talent, but he has a rep as me-first player who doesn't always play team ball, who makes the spectacular pass and often turnover instead of the easy play, and is making no bones about the fact he's just looking for the place that will give him the biggest stage next year before his leap to the NBA.
Coach K's ego and Duval's ego just sound like a recipe for disaster to me. K is a Knight disciple after all, and his in your face, screaming, coaching style just doesn't seem a good fit for a kid like Duval.
I'm not saying there's 100% something there.. but it certainly doesn't feel right. 3 players jumped ship (Giles being 4th).. on HOF Coach K? If he's sooo good, and they are soooo set for life.. what gives?
