Tucson is great if you enjoy feeling your face melt away in the sun in the summertime. 120 degrees is effing hot...dry heat my ***.

that worries me.....mostly for my 3 Ga girls though..............what about live music?
know anything about that?

it's not all like.....country and mariachi is it?
please say NO

So, in a way, Tommy and Will were raised by GYERO. No surprise they're both killing it.

You still have The Clown on there --
That's honestly one of the top 3 "avatars" I've ever seen -- it makes me happy each and every time I see it

hort and anthony's always made me tickle deep down inside my secret self too........

* Spending my early morning today in an endless loop with my car insurance company and the DMV to update my policy records and pay a fee I may or may not owe because my policy lapsed for two days/then was backdated to not show lapsed......ugh. [sick][sick]

I swear to god, you have to hate the government. Just have to. It's only $125, but it's the time and ridiculousness that's so awful. They don't even have a website. You either call and wait on the phone until some fat ***** finally picks up, or you go to the DMV in person. Just a big ole basket of FU.

* Fantasy baseball draft last night. Hoping I finish dead last again.

Seriously, I don't "get" fantasy sports at all. I enjoy following the players, but the nuances of scoring and which players are more valuable than others -- it just makes no sense to me. You've got Johnny Mcslapdick that's barely holding onto his job in Seattle, but plays both 2nd base and catcher, and is good for 14 steals a year. 2nd round pick! [eyeroll]

* Late night boozing date tonight. Ole girl is gonna put the kids to bed, then let me know when theyre down so it's safe to come over. :joy:

Safe to assume I'm crushing tonight? Sure seems like it.

Tomorrow --> wedding date with a (very hot) longtime running friend. She went to med school here, then moved away for a year, now coming back. Soooo......first time hanging out with ole girl as a single man. There will be booze, white people dancing, and the French Quarter involved.

I could go 0-fer-2, or bat 100% this weekend. Not really sure. Puppies?

* Tyler Ulis with 16 points and 13 assists. Toss in 3 boards and only 2 turns, too. Him turning into a legit, starting NBA point guard will be the least surprising thing ever.

* If a female refers to anyone else, or anything else, as their "spirit animal," they're a f'ing wackjob loser. Right?

Was in Tucson a few weeks ago and it seemed like a fun college town. Small, easily manageable airport and closer to the beach (Puerto Penasco) than you would think.

That said, I was there when the weather was pretty good (low 90's several days).

Between brake tags and the random penalties, that may or may not be legitimate, regarding insurance lapses Louisiana sounds like an awful place to own a car.

Hey Thomas Walker -- did you get into the mountains at all?
I understand that Tucson is maybe 30 min's from good skiing and snow when the season is right?

Everything I see on Sperling's and other indices show high crime rates as well -- see anyone get the Shive when you were there, sarge?

-Pretty big Marty Robbins fan myself.

-Got the little lady this weekend. Pizza date tonight. Sitter coming over tomorrow evening so Dad can get out for a few pops. Should be a good one.

-We couldn't get away for the whole week this year (father in law's 75th birthday next weekend), so we're doing 3 nights at The Greenbrier Tues-Fri. Never been, but have always been intrigued. Seems like a nice place to decompress.

-Immunity.

-Amazing how the idea of onions and mayonnaise, together, makes me want to puke, until I actually enjoy the combo on a sam or sometimes on a burger.

-Louisville turning into (?) the wild west this week. Christ.

A real nice day down here, looking at clear sky and a high of 75... really enjoyable climate today.

If instagram is any indication of the talent level in Tuscon, then it seems like a real good place.

Finished S-Town. What a mess. Really entertaining but it doesnt really have a true storyline. Kind of bounces around a bit, but I guess where you are featuring the people of Bibb-touching County, Alabama- you get what you get.

My wife's company laid off 500 people yesterday. It's a Japanese company so as much to do with their economy as ours. They were notified of the lay offs on Wednesday afternoon, and then got their decisions yesterday morning. She's got her job still- which we are grateful for, but some good friends wound up on the wrong end. Pretty brutal. Makes me physically sick to even think about. We went through it in 2015- but we dont have children, and I still had my job and insurance, etc... some in much more dire situations.

UK Baseball has Vandy at home this weekend. Would be a great series to catch. Both ranked and playing well.

Augusta next week. Pretty geeked.

I've looked at the Greenbrier several times for a guys trip -- man, that place is EXPENSIVE, always end up balking over the price tag. Shew. Imagine it would be a hoot on the Tournament weekend.

Looks like a pretty unreal place for a 3 day weekend, though. Golf, Spa, Pool, Casina (coat required lol), Food, Drink -- and all sorts of other couplesly type things to do, it seems. Enjoy

-What pizza are you getting? Don't blow it.

Offering a "3 nights for 2" deal during the week. About $200 per night. I mean, not sure you can stay in downtown Louisville for that right now.

In October we re-did our upstairs bathroom. The contractor scratched up the tub. They need 2 days to do the repair work and the baby has to be out of the house for a few days bc of the fumes. It's been hard to find a weekend to get it done bc of conflicting schedules. However...

Just received a call and his schedule opened up for next weekend. Ha. Master's weekend. How convenient. Lass and Lil lassy are now headed to Owensboro on Friday. Gonna take full advantage. Plan on being at Hoot's on Dutchman's no later than 3:00 next Friday. [banana]

I could either get takeout/delivery and enjoy at home (leaning towards) which means North End Slice, or take the tyke out somewhere so she gets the experience. She loves Benny at Impellizzeri's. We've ruled out Za's lately after having drunk homeless men stumble in and sit down with us mid meal two times in a row (The Highlands!).

Thoughts?

Can't go wrong with either of those. Za's never did it for me. Pizza is just fine, but the place is just weird imo.

-Been pretty depressed this week. Have handled it much better than in the past, being busy at work has helped -- but each night when I get home it sets back in a little.

Ready to wash my hands of it all I believe. Lass is having her quarterly Wine & 'Friends' night with RUSSELL!! -------> that means Dad is going to the Boat to cleanse. Gambol, Steak Dinner, Gambol. [cheers] ...rounded out with a weekend of Golf, and ready to get back at Regular Life on Monday.

Just always feels weird for a week or so after the run is over, March just totally consumes me -- like I can't even think about anything else until it's all decided.

-Tony > Benny. Have read a bit about that dysfunctional family in the past...Benny seems like a tyrant.

Benny is awesome BUT there are TIMES he just won't let you enjoy your drinks/pizza.....doesn't bother me one bit....but with friends who are not familiar they get a little weirded out at the 20 min convos on several different occasions during one sitting.

Not too much although the hills up around Marana were 8-10 degrees cooler than Tucson.

No snitching.

I'm fired up about the trip - but not all that excited about possibly moving to the S/W
Everything about the job would be fantastic except for a) distance from friends and family and b) I was really hoping to get away from weapons development ......

we'll see -- they may take one look at me and send me back on the damn plane

at this point my backup/backup plan is writing papers on "Upwork", playing music around middle GA and.....street preachin'

Pittsburgh is an awful town. Lot of midwestern sows ambling around, all working on their next heart attack.

Not a foodball like most in here, but I found one of the towns "claim to fame", Primanti Brothers, to be as enjoyable as a wet fart. Cold deli meat paired with tasteless fries and vinegar soaked slaw o_O Fits their dump of a city to a T.

And get pumped with everything the eye can see being black and yellow. Like a damn cult with that ****.

Cool hockey arena though. Just a completely different animal live compared to the tv product and an event I think most sports fans here would enjoy.

Yeah, Primanti wasn't very good -- I even rolled Hot Steak & Cheese w/ an egg (Flavortown), still meh.

Have heard some decent things about Pitt as a town though, at least compared to its rep...My co-worker and his baseball/beer loving crew seemed to enjoy when they went, said there were some cool little areas, and that stadium is obviously bad ***.

I agree PIttsburgh sucks ***, weirdest thing to me about it was we were partying there on some street lined with bars and I couldn't find a taxi to save my life, like nothing. Waited for 2 hours (this was back in 2010 or so) and then finally found one and somehow ended up getting in a fight with him and kicked out. Town had a cloak of grey and sadness perpetually over it.

And Tucson is 45 minutes north of Mexico and 1 and a half hours south of Phoenix so whoever told you it's close to skiing is an idiot Rubric. Mount lemond gets a dusting of snow from time to time, that's it. 3 and a half hour drive to flagstaff will get you towards actual snow. And August and September are hot as balls - think of those months as the equivalent of January/February here.

PPG Arena and PNC Park are impressive sports venues, can understand why your baseball loving buddies crush on that. PNC is one of the best yards in the league...but that has nothing to do with the city itself.

Just found it to be meh -, nothing stood out as a must-see or do spot, especially for a single fella.

There are a few cities that I never, ever have any plans to visit, unless forced. I'm sure I'm way off on some of them, but for the most part, I don't really care to visit:
  • Cleveland
  • Pittsburgh
  • Detroit (already been so I guess it doesn't count, but I'd ungo there if I could)
  • Anywhere in New Jersey
  • Syracuse
  • Milwaukee
  • Buffalo
  • Minneapolis

The one that's coming out April 7th. ***** Sit Down, Be Humble.

-Has been mentioned, but I thought Cleveland downtown was actually set up pretty cool, albeit ghostly.

-Mez drops a hot track almost daily on his Facebook.
