So the play here is to show we're willing to ruin a guy's life because he's a ****** ref and it's only going to affect said ****** ref?

Sounds reasonable.

Why stop with his ****** roofing business? Can we get ahold of his parents and let them know how awful of a son they raised? What about his preacher? assuming he isn't the anti Christ and attends church. I need to know where his life went wrong

Probably good to remind the non-elite UK fans that the basketball program represents a place of higher learning, where stuff like sending death threats to basketball officials is generally discouraged.

Also, quiche's problem isn't the ingredients or even the concept. It's the consistency. Just a non-starter for this guy.

For some reason I just discovered Weisenberger Mills grits. I always thought grits were nasty because probably I had only been served the stupid instant grits. Made some cheese grits last night and they were fantastic. This is game changer as far as sides go. Plus now shrimp and grits will be a go to.

Sounds like Cal is finally reading ol' B Rax's posts and has started recruiting 3 star sharpshooters. It's about damn time, tbh.

SAE - Southern states has been selling potted Palmetto's. Would make a nice Mother's Day- Labor Day patio accent. I'm actually strongly considering planting some at the base of a cryptomeria with some azaleas. Speaking of - hadn't seen the first bid on any of mine yet. Should be happening soon tho. Weird spring we are having!

^ My magnolia took a beating, man...

Have your magnolias ever gotten scale?

I've spent nearly $3 grand battling that **** the past few years. My neighbors have a small magnolia in their backyard that has it and doesn't get treated and those little touchers migrate over to our tree.

Despite budding early before several freezes, I think my 3 are going to be ok as far as that goes.

80? That's who I was talking about.

Someone more current and prominent left at least one.

I don't equate leaving poor ratings about his business with death threats, of course.

One is just dumb, the other is absolutely criminal. I hope the ******** that left death threats face charges.

I mean why now? I would think this would have happened when missing a shot clock violation gifting Wisconsin 2 points and completely swinging the momentum of the game which costed us 40-0 would have hit this nerve. Guess they were too busy kicking Cal's dog on that one.

I think the reaction of national media - there was a lot of acknowledgment that the first half officiating was shady - combined with that guy screwing us in the past emboldened people.

I posted "John is so dumb he couldn't pour piss from a boot if you told him the instructions were written on the heel".

I know enough about the guy to justify that.

Let's not beat around the bush. This isn't rec ball. This is a billion dollar business, and this asshat makes decisions that affects people's livelihoods. People get hired/fired/bonuses on how many games they win and lose. A local merchant may make an entire year's worth of sales from special merchandise if a team advances in the tournament. And this guy is paid extremely well for doing what he does. If he can't handle the heat, then he needs to move on to something more pedestrian.

Absolutely he should be accountable. And the fact that he was "rewarded" with a Final Four, only increasing his season's pay, just makes the situation more toxic. The fact that we even know his name tells us all we need to know. That's the worst kind of umpire/referee. Best kind you don't even know they are there. It's about the game...not them.

73, that is the best and most complete summary I've seen.

(And you know me, I hate almost everything).

Edit:

Oh F, now I guess I have to clarify. I'm not saying that any contact with him is warranted. I don't think it is but I'm also not going to get on a soapbox either. It's not like he's refereeing 6th grade YMCA league. There is a lot at stake.

Like 73 said, how do you know when someone's a bad referee? When you notice them.

BJW needs to properly focus their rage on the people in charge of officiating imo

But no death threats please and thank you

Umm, there is nothing to justify trying to ruin someone's personal life & livelihood b/c of bad calls during a live basketball game.

Kinda shocked at some of you -- get a grip.

You make a bad call in your business, and you might get fired. This guy? He gets rewarded with a Final Four.

He doesn't work for free. He is paid extremely well for being a referee. If he doesn't like the limelight, then give up the gig, and move on. Obviously he enjoys the publicity.

John Higgins makes $3-5k per night plus travel expenses and gratuities to ref college basketball games. He make more being a referee in a season than almost everyone in this thread makes per year.

Spare me the sob story about his roofing company. Why even advertise that he's a referee for his business? Roofarees? GTFO. A1 Roofing or Pinnacle Roofing or similar, and keep being anonymous. Roofarees? That's seriously asking for problems.

Death threats and ruining his business have nothing to do with his refereeing.

I'm sure there are other people who work for him who are being screwed over by our fans' stupidity. What do ruining his roofing business and threatening his life have to do with the NCAA naming him a Final Four referee? Absolutely nothing.

I can't believe anyone with any sense at all would support this ****.
