What makes you think Gabriel would play a big part in this game?If you read their message board, they're concerned they can't stay with our guards. I think that speaks volumes. Fox and Monk gotta eat. Bam and Briscoe need to stay out of foul trouble.
They don't have a stretch 4, or a big that's a major shooter, which means that Gabriel could potentially play defense and bang and do athletic things.
Sweater vest. If we leave several Lands End catalogs next to the bench they'll be complety distracted by all the Spring color options
UNC doesn't have elite athleticism (Fox Monk Bam) and have difficulty playing against it especially trying to guard it .
I disagree. With the exception of Meeks who gets winded frequently they're a pretty good up and down the floor team. I think Hicks could give us fits rotating with Meeks giving them more depth inside where we pretty much just have Bam.UNC doesn't have elite athleticism (Fox Monk Bam) and have difficulty playing against it especially trying to guard it .
Running fast is not elite athleticism , they have not a soul that's like Fox or MonkI disagree. Jackson. And if he's not as good in your opinion he's still good enough to hurt us.Running fast is not elite athleticism , they have not a soul that's like Fox or Monk

As long as neither touch the ball on offense they should be fine. Gabriel is a turnover waiting to happen and Humphries has worse hands than a statue. As I said before--this is the game where Humphries and Gabriel being big will matter. It wasn't helpful vs UCLA which had moreso skilled/shooting bigs. But in a game where we need guys who can bang, clog up the lane and alter shots--I think they have a role.

As I said in the post--they don't have a stretch 4/dribbling 4. Leaf And Welsch were worst case scenario for him. He is a phenomenal athlete and he's long. He's got decent size. He can bang in the post and affect some shots.
Make no mistake, Willis has become an excellent defender and stands to see 30+ minutes in this game. But Gabriel COULD NOT be in the UCLA game. Leaf ate our lunch in the 1st half when Willis went out. He's too skilled for Gabriel, too big for Mulder, too fast for Humphries, etc. UNC doesn't have anyone like that.
Gabriel and Humphries are both better suited for this game.
Berry is the main cog to their offensive rhythm. When he's out, they become rather pedestrian. Get him in foul trouble or on the bench for a long spell, they seem to be out of sorts. Jackson is a beast though.
Defensive intensity.
They don't consistently get stops. Not as bad as UK earlier in the year, but in the same neighborhood.
And they're not a great shooting team. They have 3 shooters, one of whom is a 14 mpg game. If any of those guys is off, they can struggle from the perimeter, because they have no one else who can hit a jumpshot.
Maye can play a stretch 4 for them.
He's just not consistent enough to worry about.
5.5 per game isnt anywhere near the threat someone like Leaf was.
They do have a stretch 4 but he is horrible on D . Maye is a stretch 4. We need to guard him from 3 .If you read their message board, they're concerned they can't stay with our guards. I think that speaks volumes. Fox and Monk gotta eat. Bam and Briscoe need to stay out of foul trouble.
