Greg Marshall would be fun to hate at Indiana, there's no doubt about that.

Yeah, but that fun would wear off after he wins a couple of titles, crushes it on the recruiting trail, reinvigorates the IU fanbase, makes the Final Four every couple of years, and generally just dominates at a historically great program.

Know what? That actually would NOT be fun in any way, hatred or otherwise.

I need Sean to bottle what he's feeling today and be ready to drink the sweet elixir when his time comes in Lexington.

Sean got schooled last night. :100points:

Posting Ristic on your biggest possession of the game, really? Then, whatever that final poss mess was. Props to him for at least owning it.

He had his way with us tonight,’’ Miller said of Mack, one of Miller’s former assistants. “He called plays, after timeouts, underneath out of bounds, he got his players some great shots.’’

You know,’’ he continued, “our team never really ever established great confidence against the zone. And I think in some ways that was the reason, defensively, that we weren't as good as we usually are or maybe better than we needed to be, because the game never really felt good.

“And that's on me.’’

Miller also said he was to blame for offensive struggles. The Wildcats shot 43.5% from the field and 25.9% from three-point range.

“Your job when you get to this area, when you get to this level of college basketball, your best players gotta be confident,’’ Miller said. “We have to get them shots. I don't care what defense they're playing — 1-3-1, 2-3, man-to-man — and I don't feel we did that tonight. And that's probably the worst feeling you can have as a coach.’’

-I like the Miller boys, but you have to wonder if Chris Mack was a handsome & intimiating looking chap like them, if HE wouldn't be the hire everyone mentions every time a good job comes open. Maybe he should be.

I don't want him at Indiana, PTI...just in case you were confused. I'd rather them hire Dancing Guy.

We almost had a GYERO D II title game showdown. MY Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters vs YOUR Bellarmine Knights. Would've been an epic tilt.

Chris Mack is Sean Miller 7 years in advance who was Thad Matta who was Skip Prosser...

Those Jesuits make some good hires. Ugly girls, though.

Can still remember listening to Memphis Cal rap with Jim Rome, and then do is ESPN Car Wash...just fantasizing about what would happen if we ever 'gave in' and pursued the guy.

I mean, the match was just too obvious.

Carolina cares about image. Kentucky cares about winning. That explains nearly everything about the two programs including how they go about coaching searches.

If it counts for anything, Miller was incredibly gracious both last night and when Arizona won in LA a few years ago. Granted, most of the admins here are people he knows... but I certainly don't think it was expected or the norm for him to come congratulate everyone after losing like that.

I remember many GYERO conversations about Cal being our coach after he ragdolled us in the 2007 Maui Classic.

Money pouring in on UCLA. Went from a pick to UCLA -1½ in the last couple of hours.

Of course, the line swung a couple of points in Wichita's favor on Sunday (-5 to -3) and that turned out OK.

I think this is the rare occasion where the hype is working against UK. The stat nerds all like UK. Nate Silver gives UK a 68% chance of winning (same as he gives UNC, who's favored by 7½), KenPom likes us by a couple, Sagarin likes us by a couple.

Two things stand out to me aside from the matchups: #1, Cal is 11-2 in the Sweet 16 while Alford is 0-3 with all of his losses coming by double digits. #2, UCLA's defensive efficiency is 79th in the country. 79th. Nobody higher than 21st has ever won a title.

8 hours...

Our defense is obviously much better than when we played UCLA earlier, but our offense is obviously much worse. Has our defense improved more than our offense has worsened? I'm not sure.

Regardless, I'm already reaching nauseous levels of nervousness, and nothing I read or see is making me feel much better.

HOT TAKE - I don't think our offense is that much worse. I think we just happened to play in the best defensive conference in the country AND that our improvement defensively and in the halfcourt (yep) has shortened the game a bit and knocked our scoring down.

Our offense has regressed, no doubt. And UCLA hasn't scored less than 76 points all year.

One thing that gives me hope is that USC beat UCLA once (and almost twice) by slowing them down, at least by their standards. It seems counter intuitive that we wouldn't want to run, but Cal does love a good slog.

Who knows.

Think we'll want to run when it's there but then pull it out and grind to force UCLA to guard us in the half court and shorten the game.

OR MAYBE I'M WRONG AND IT'S GOING TO BE A 94 FOOT TRACK MEET FOR 40 MINUTES I DON'T KNOW MY GOSH IT'S ONLY 2:07 MAY NEED A MILLION FROSTIES RIGHT NOW TO CALM MY NERVES.

Speaking of coach TB, I never get tired of watching this clip. What stones -- just casually launch from 30 feet for funsies. Of course, Gus managed to be on the Call.

Here it is in HD:

...which always makes me think of Sparks vs. USC, when he did pretty much the exact same thing. Nearly his entire left foot is ON the 'K' if you pause it.

Suns starting 5 last night was younger than 7 of the 8 starting lineups last night in the Dance.

Sometimes I listen to 630 at night if I don't have a podcast to catch up on. Richard Dick Gabriel has to be the whitest boring *** stiff in all of Lexington, which is quite the accomplishment.
