When I was a kid, Georgetown was my other team because I badly wanted to be a cool black guy and all those guys were at Georgetown and they had the coolest names too. They were also the only all-black team on NCAA Basketball for SNES and I thought that was just the coolest.

Can't see them going outside the family, especially if what Jeff Goodman wrote a few months ago about everybody still being afraid of Big John. If so, Patrick Chewing is ready. He's been trying to be a head coach somewhere for 15 years now.

(Archie would probably be way better though if he wants it)

Russ, easy. He's going to average a touching triple double this season, and he's really just getting started (bro), assuming he stays healthy.

Iverson was great, especially with what he had to work with, but that scrubby team would struggle to make the playoffs in the 2017 Western Conference, certainly wouldn't contend.

Good post, kinda -- but "isn't true at all" is false.

The more chances you have, the more likely you are able to finally get all those breaks that you speak of.

If you play Roulette, your chance of Red or Black is the same on EVERY roll (statistically) -- but if you roll 10 times and bet Black each time, your chance of getting a Black in there SOMEWHERE is better than if you rolled once, true statistics be damned.

Not unlike "putting yourself in contention" for a major enough times is typically enough to get these guys over the hump.

F roulette!

When I lived in Lex a group went to the boat and we drunkingly came up with a strategy that should've worked.

Wait for 3 reds and bet black and if you lose just double the next bet to make it up.

First bet $50, lose, Second bet $100, lose, Third bet $200, lose, Fourth bet $400, lose...........Fifth bet $800 and completely sick to my stomach but totally dead set it has to F'n hit and not only did it lose the MFer hit green!

Hand on the Bible I swear on all 3 of my kids that's a true story!

:joy: at UKO, who is literally the only person on this entire site who could misread/misinterpret that statement.

Of course, what happens this year has NO impact over last year, or next. No ****. But if you have great players and coaching and teams in most years, over a long period of time, of course you're expected to win more championships. That's why UNC and Kentucky and UCLA have more titles that San Francisco, you idiot.

You're CRAZY, krazykats.

You're not going to consistently win, but If you have a large enough bankroll (or manage it properly), you should never lose in roulette. Learn Martingale.

"I kept prodding my husband to go pester Cal until he finally relented and stopped shewing him away like a stray cat. And that's how I latched on to his coattails."

That's good dad work right there.

Although Stevie Thompson strikes me as a guy you'd like. Gut feeling.

His kid played at Oregon State with Gary Payton Jr. if any of you wanted to feel like an old.

UKO's analysis is the textbook Dean Smith defense by UNC fans. Been hearing that for 30+ years.

It's uncanny how fanbases employ groupthink; the same theories permeate even those who have no connection to the school, geographic or otherwise.

Also, contrary to what UNC may teach in AFAM,

clamour >>> clammer.

This is only true if alcohol is not involved.

At my buddy's wedding in NOLA, the cute blonde photog was on street level taking shots of us groosmen up on the balcony - right there across from the Bourbon Orleans.

The groom's dad made some suggestion for posing that the photog brushed off. She was like, "yeah we can try that and then we'll try it my other way." Her suggestiveness reminded my buddy of the beginnings of a cliched topless photoshoot - a "Why don't you get more comfortable..." type of deal. He was mentioned this to me by saying, "For the next one, why don't you take your top off?" in a deep, buzzed baritone.

All conversation died down just before he said this, and it sounded like he was asking our cute blonde photographer to go topless for the rest of the shoot. He didn't even throw beads down to her.

She looked stunned, stared blankly and said, "Uhh, OK" and kept shooting.

The best part was, he was actively trying to regroup from being a creep as we had a good few hours left with her. But then she caught him pointing out some chick's *** and he gave just gave up.

Photog.

Curious stat I realized:

When Calipari (at Kentucky) faces a team in the NCAA Tourney that he played during the regular season:

Regular Season -- He's 3-4 (losses to UNC, UConn in '11, IU in '12, UCLA '17
NCAA Tourney -- He's 5-1 (loss to UConn in '11) with UCLA upcoming

U of L also argued it should not be penalized as a repeat violator and should receive some consideration for cooperating fully with the NCAA in its investigation. In its March 17 response, NCAA enforcement staff took issue with most of those positions.

“Put simply,” the NCAA said, “arranging and funding sexual intercourse for a prospective student athlete on an official visit is a severe violation, wholly inconsistent with NCAA principles, whether valued at $80 or $120.”

The NCAA report contains little information not already made public. But it does include a remark – presumably from a U of L player or former player -- that “it was common knowledge among his teammates that the adult entertainment was occurring in Minardi. [Name redacted] reported that whenever a highly sought after prospect was visiting the institution, adult entertainers were in the dormitory.”

The report, obtained by WDRB News Thursday under a public records request, also includes a heavily-redacted interview with former program assistant Brandon Williams, who refused to cooperate with the NCAA investigation. He is facing a major violation for not turning over his cell phone as part of the NCAA probe.

Investigators believe Williams could have been the person who gave Katina Powell cash before she went to meet prospect Antonio Blakeney and his guardian while they were in town for an AAU tournament. They said Williams fits the description of a man who made the $200 payment, and established through security records he was at the dorm when the payment was made.

The NCAA focused on Williams’ phone and bank records. But the interview, which includes questions about Williams’ relationship with former U of L assistant Mike Balado, is so heavily redacted that it’s difficult to draw a conclusion.
