A lot of talk of who's a 1 seed or who's a 2 seed. As it should be. But I've always looked at who's 'hot' ...on a winning streak to close out the year. Like UCONN a few years back.

So we're closing out pretty strong, but I'd still like to see a couple of things before I get my hopes up too high for the NCAAs. Other teams..for you guys who watch a ton of b'ball..who have that 'look' right now? 'Body of work' for the entire season is fine and dandy for the committee picking 1 and 2 seeds, but give me a team that's hot vs. a highly seeded team that is going into the tournament on 7 cylinders.

Cincy? Northwestern? And dare I say it, but Puke? Maybe ND if they beat Puke handily today?

History and statistics show that going into the NCAA tourney with more than a 9 game win streak does not help your chances. Anyone going in on a 4-8 game streak has better odds.

Zona. 8-1 over the last 9 (and beat the team that gave them that one loss, UCLA, yesterday).

Northwestern isn't that hot. Just lost at home to Purdue.

But maybe if they win their conference tourney.

Duke is hot right now. They are "back" for the second time in a month.

Lol shut I
seriously! There was an articles about it somewhere last week. I'm hoping for a U.K. Loss today.
Look how 40-0 turned out. The longer the streak the more difficult to maintain. With this team especially, I want them going in pissed off and hungry. They need to experience a tournament loss that sends them packing and I'd rather it be in the SEC tourney than the NCAA...we aren't Indiana, so SEC tourney don't mean jack.

I'm fine with a loss but if UK falls it should be today. Losing on Sunday is just a waisted day. Lose today and you go home early to prepare for the important event.

Nope. Won't happen and should not happen. If we were undefeated I still say win every game. It has been done multiple times before and will eventually be done again.
Success breeds success. End of story.

I see your point but at the same time a loss today is unlikely, I think. However a loss tomorrow and seeing the opponent hold a trophy and celebrate, it could be exactly what the freshman need. Not worried about the rest of the team, but this freshman class seems a lot more immature than most we've had.

Multiple times in a 40 game season? You'd be completely wrong. As I said, history shows that the longer the streak going into the tourney the lower the odds. Most winners aside from one or two in the past 20 years have had 4-8 game win streaks entering the tournament. So argue with statistics, and history all you want, it just makes you look ignorant.

Isn't that a given?:grimace:
Yeah,I guess it is.They shot 31 and 37 free throws in the last two games. They don't get fouled that much, watching last night's game there were at least a half dozen phantom fouls called,it makes you wonder what the refs are looking at when they make some of these calls.

Going into timeouts and halftime they always seem to show K talking to the officials before he says a word to his team, that gets old as well

Intentionally dropping games to coincide with history makes you look....

Vermont. Won the America East at 29-5, including 21 in a row. Losses to Houston by 1, Providence by 22, South Carolina by 18 and Butler by 12, all in December. Not a team I would want to face as a 3 or 4 seed.

Oregon is hot, just like the cheerleader above. Man, I loved when I had a couple of them working for me at my last job. Sorry, back on topic. They are winners of 8 in a row since losing at UCLA by 3. Big game against Zona tonight.

OK, but then we wouldn't have a 4-8 game winning streak going either.
