Hate to say it but Duke will be an extremely tough out. They are very balanced. Tatum would be a nightmare matchup for us.

They have three strong weapons in Tatum, kenard and Allen. I was impressed but not all teams play that style, they can be rattled and beaten, unc and duke both been beat 8 times, yeah there in a good conference but I'll enjoy watching them both get beat in the tournament

This is the team we expected!

Get ready for all this ish talk nonstop
Funny, that's exactly what Dana O'Neil just posted on the ESPN sidebar. That this was the team "we" expected preseason. What a bunch of crap. Lose a few, they go quiet. Win one or two, they are back in the title conversation. It (bias) can't be any more obvious than that.

Yeah this is pretty obnoxious. What are they, 4-3 over the last 7 games? I'm supposed to be impressed by that?
Most people only remember what happened recently. Dook talking heads on ESPN will spin Duke into a #2 seed by Sunday.

And with their refs in tow. Team shooting the 3 shoots way more FTs than the team trying to work inside. Makes sense. I loved that call that came at least 3 seconds after a Jefferson miss inside.

She and most of the ESPN writers can't tweet enough during their games, but barely a peep from any of them during our games.

They have an off shooting night and they are history in the tourney.

While they worry me.. I will go as far to say they don't even need an "off" night.. they just can't be hitting 60% from 3.. They shoot 40% and they lose that game..

sorry, but i would love to be matched up with Duke...

There's a reason why we beat them comfortably last year...and in all honesty, they are similar team. Slightly better shooting, but overall we are better anyways compared to last year. (Freshmen have been bust except Tatum, and that's just replaces Ingram.)

UNC isn't a good match up against Duke, that's the problem. You need a guard that can get to the paint, that's their weakness. We have 2 guys who's really good at that and another that's pretty good. Joel Berry is the only one that can kind of do it, but he only played 24 minutes.

It's gonna be hilarious when 75 percent of the ACC is bounced by end of first weekend. Then you will hear how that's not indicative of conference strength. Blah blah blah
Yep, but they won't care that 75% got bounced - they saturate the tournament every year with ACC teams hoping just one gets through to the FF, and then if one does, suddenly the ACC is the best conference to ever have graced our presence since basketball was invented.

Tatum playing better which makes the team dangerous but theyre lacking an inside presense and a PG. A team that can control tempo and score in the post can beat Duke.
This. If Berry is in the game they win . If Hicks played the first time they win . UNC is good but Duke isn't great. THey had no business beating UL who is a better team then Duke but UL forgot free throws are part of the game LOL. I really hope we play Duke in the tourney but alas I think they will lose early and we will never see them.

People should be happy about this. Everyone was whining that Duke was going to be a 4 seed with Gonzaga as its 1. That's not likely to happen now. I would guess that they're likely to go to the East as a 2 or 3 seed.

Didn't happen last year, probably won't happen this year.

Out of their 19 wins in the tournament last year, which was impressive, only 5 of them was against the top half of the bracket. Syracuse got to the final four as a 10 seed, by beating seeds 7, 15, 11, and 1. And the 1 seed, fellow acc team virginia.

Who would guard Tatum?

Monk would have to score 40 for us to have a chance.

Don't want to see them until April

And the year before, when they put 5 teams in the Sweet 16 (as opposed to the 6 from last year)?

The ACC is really, really strong right now. People can whine about it all they want, but it's true. UNC and Duke are what they are, Pitino has found his groove at UL, Virginia and Notre Dame are having their best runs since the early 80's, and Florida State recruits well enough to always be a threat. That's a really, really strong top 6, without even accounting for Syracuse and Miami.

It won't last forever. But for right now, people would have a much better case against the ACC if other conferences would start to knock their teams out of the tournament.

Tatum is one guy, not that big of a deal. Besides he plays the 4, not 3. You can be fine with WG and Willis. Just back off him.

Also, if BAM is not in foul trouble second half, then he can guard him during second half. Amile Jefferson isn't that big of an offensive threat. You can get WG/WIllis to guard him.

Key to duke is to put pressure on their guards to take bad shots, because they'll take bad shots. Their efficiency plummets when that happens.

And no, we don't need Monk to score 40 for us to win. THat's just terrible take.

Before the ACC tourney in the last 15 games Duke is 9-6 and losses to Syracuse and Miami by a score 55-50 was terrible. The only thing you have to do to Duke is get Allen rattled and then expect a Trip or a 'T' and that seems to rattle the whole team. In games when Allen does something stupid is games that you can see how much it affects the team. This Duke team doesn't have its usual big man or the impressive point guard to carry them to the Final Four. I can still see them losing in their second game to a decent team. I believe with their 8 or 9 losses depending on tomorrow they are still a 3 or 4 seed and will have a tough game in their second game of the NCAA Tourney. I still think and I hate saying this because I Hate these 3 teams equally is that UNC and UL are better than Duke in the ACC and even Florida State is better than Duke. The one MVP for Duke that I do enjoy watching play ball is Kennard and that is one player that I wished UK didn't miss out on when they were recruiting Kennard and his Family and Luke wanted to come to UK.

Tatum would abuse WG/Willis. Jefferson Giles would get Bam in foul trouble. They would spread us out and bomb threes. Like vandy but on steroids.

Their guards are their strength. They should shoot more than they already do. You want Tatum to have the ball in his hands and play hero. Not Allen or Kennard. Monk absolutely would have to have a huge game in order for us to keep with their scoring. Take the blue glasses off. Or not whatever

Wouldnt be surprised to see them with Gonzaga as a 1 and Oregon as a 2. Ncaa will want a Duke/Oregon rematch from last year so they can play it as a revenge game for K. Plus itd be the easiest bracket and we know Duke and the easiest region go together like peas and carrots.

man, your takes are bad.... When did Giles and Jefferson become this offensive force that would cause BAM to be in foul trouble?

You always have only negative view and usually incorrect. Just because you take terrible take, doesn't mean everyone else is wearing blue glasses.

Secondly, we did beat them last year handedly....Kennard and Allen both struggle against our kind of guards. Jefferson/Giles also, they are foul prone against guards that attacks the paint. You got Fox, Monk, Briscoe, and Hawkins who likes attacking.

And i also don't mind Tatum playing hero ball. I don't disagree with that.

And no, monk doesn't need to get 40 for us to win, just stupid take. Just don't give them open look 3, we'll be fine against Duke. We have much more worries with other teams.
