So many great things happening in that gif. The security guy in the white shirt smiling kills me.

It really is the greatest gif in the storied history of SEC basketball.

Pretty sure Davenport also hated Harris, but probably need to have that verified.

Harris could ball in high school. Deadeye shooter. Davenport liked him.

My sophomore year at Ballard in 95 Ballard played Oak Hill in Broadbent Arena. Ron Mercer's senior year. Tons of Billy Joe Wildcats came to see Mercer and the entire UK team rolled in to see him as well. Was really cool.

Harris checked Mercer for a bit.

K-Gars band of misfits and hooligans in rural southwest podunk Virginia also played Oak Hill. Same with Thomas and Julius Jones in football.

Now that would have been a sight.

We played UHA when they were Top 5 in the nation (Barnes, Victor, Swanigan frontcourt)...and lost by a bucket.

I didn't check anyone.

Don't think Pitino was too fond of Davenport back
then. There was some shady **** with the recruitment of Wheat. Billy Donovan was UK's lead recruiter for Wheat and Davenport kept intercepting the letters from Donovan and not giving them to Wheat. Not that Wheat would've gone to UK as a black kid growing up in the West End with his dream was to play for UL and UK wasn't cool to black kids in Louisville in the early 90's. Plus, the whole Rupp stigma was real whether it was fair or not.

You see, Davenport would do everything he could to steer Wheat towards UL. He mirrored his program around UL. Ran Denny's UCLA high post offense to a tee. His lifetime goal was to get back on Denny's staff, which happened in 96.

Checked Lonnel Dewalt 7th and 8th grade as we beat them for the southern KY middle school ship.

I did not, however, check him when he hit his growth spurt and was literally dunking all over us as freshmen. Stuff of nightmares, there.

I checked Merced in a summer game (when he was still at Goodpasture) until he drove baseline and reverse-crammed on me for the And-1. I believe that was the 3rd possession of the game so I totally shut him down for a bit.

Dewalt is probably one of the most talented athletes I've seen in Kentucky in terms of raw ability. Gracious. Sad he never really made it.

-I think Richie must be on edge b/c the infant lack of sleep may be starting to catch up.

I've heard several people from GYERO mention they "liked" Ron Slay. I guess I missed the memo, because I f*cking despised that guy.
-Somehow PTI was buddies with Ron Slay when he lived in Knoxville. We had a fun night hanging out with him and gave him lots of ****.

-ukguy, I am very sorry about your dog. That stuff is hard to take and sucks a lot.

-It is March, so that's good. Is the forecast gonna clear up for the whole weekend in Nashville? That would be helpful with my packing adventures. It doesn't look too bad, just may be a little cool on Saturday (and rainy that night).

-BBdK back in for Nashville? I guess Anth shamed him into it?

Only adversity this year is the new house/bank account & upcoming butthole sympathy vacation I schemed my wife while I was holed up in bed -- which we used our Nashville points for. Nashville or Barcelona? (tough one) Had nothing to do with the actual team other than not trusting them with non-refundable rooms at the juncture I would have had to book them.

However, BitchyJoeWildcat seems to have helped with Award Cert Availability, so pending. :eyes:

Btw, Chad bitches on the SEC Tournament EVERY year, period. [laughing] Who TF you talking to?

Dewalt had one of the best dunks I've ever seen live during the state championship game against Mason County. It was a chase down, grab the missed shot, and throw it violently through the rim at a "Grant Hill outside the backboard" type of angle. That's the only time Rupp has ever looked like one of those mixtape community centers after a big play. People covering their mouth with a closed fist, holding others back in the aisles, making "who farted" faces, scooting off the edge of seats with both feet in the air. What a scene.

PTI, I am hoping 2018 will be your triumphant return to the SEC Tourney. (though I guess you did show up in 2015)

Shout out to Randolph Childress.

Still the most emasculating play in the history of basketball.
